The absolute funniest book in the Bible.

And yet so poignant and timeless. How many of us would rather pray for God's righteous anger to fall on those we perceive as irredeemably wicked instead of pray for them to repent and be reconciled to Him? I see myself in Jonah often.

My fav prophet. Very relatable. I also like how God specifies the animals. I subscribe to the argument that this was to defend His desire to save Nineva as not just the current generation but also the commerce hub the region will later become. A melting pot of cultures that has boosted the spread of Christianity. Same with Jeremiah and Babylonian slavery.

The exchange "Doest thou well to be angry?" 'Yes. 😡' is one of my favorites in all of scripture lol

After coming back to my sensws, ive laughed at the times ive felt the same "angry enough to die"... Like what? Youre that angry that a whole nation is NOT destroyed?? Another favorite detail about Jonah is that he repented in that only he could have told the story and only IF he 'came to his senses.' me fr!
