I'm working from home today and I like to check in on the feed box with a camera I have aimed at it throughout the day. I had a lot of crows today so I decided to go refill it when there is was a lull.
Well one of them flew right up and watched me from his usually perch and stayed there while I restocked their nuts while making clicking sounds with my tongue ( I can't whistle).
Since they saw me I sort of expected them to disappear for the rest of the day, but a couple of them came back and very cautiously grabbed one peanut each and flew off.
I guess they took them back to examine them and make sure they are good nuts? We'll see how the results turn out.
That's cool, they're checking you out. They now know you're the one who stocks the nuts, so they know you're probably cool.
I hope so! I wonder if they find the peanuts I leave around the neighborhood and think "Oh, peanut guy was here, hell yeah!"
