wow your choice to do the stripes changes the overall look of the sweater a lot! I definitely think yours is prettier than the monochrome example of the pattern, great job!
I love this pattern! And I really love what you did with the colors, it's soo festive. What kind of stitches are used in the pattern? It looks so complicated! Honestly can't believe this is your first sweater
Thank you ☺️ I just usually stick to small items cause I get bored easily so I knew the only way I could get through a sweater was to choose a pattern with a lot of new stitch variations and color changes 😆
Haha for some reason this post made me think of that guy on YouTube that cat calls women "respectfully" with a megaphone on the sidewalk "Dayyyyymmn girl, you look like you can crochet a mean sweater but don't brag about it to your grandma"
Well done, this is so beautiful.
That’s a good idea! If I made another one I would probably try to add 1 more colored section. I had no idea it would be so cropped until I tried it on lol I knew it would be slightly cropped but my tight tension and being 5’10 made it even more so. I’m still unsure of how cropped the pattern is supposed to turn out because the pattern photos don’t show it on a person.
I could tell by the end of the first pattern repeat it was going to be pretty damn short. But you’re right, the photos make it look like it should be a moderate length. I added rows to the even moss and floette sections and I added an entire additional section of the crosshatches between the floette and the second even moss section.
Omg this is amazing ! How long have you been crocheting for ? Hate your talented face lmao I cpuld never ! I cant even get my edges right on a blanket even when I use stitch markers !
I mean I wouldn’t say it’s beginner friendly to all beginners but it could be if you’re up for a challenge. If you have experience with ribbing from your other sweater that’ll be a huge help. I do think you’ll need to be comfortable reading patterns and charts though. There are videos showing how to do each stitch pattern but i can’t vouch for how helpful they are cause they weren’t helpful for me, but video tutorials just don’t work for my brain so they might work for other people. I spent 95% of my time looking at the chart for this pattern. The hardest parts for me were the Diamond stitch and the ribbing around the neck! I hope that helps.
Thank you that’s so sweet! It is actually really comfortable. It isn’t stretchy at all but it’s loose enough it’s not a problem. It’s definitely stiffer than knit would be but since it’s a lighter weight yarn it’s still very soft. I like that it feels a little structured. The only thing I can see being an issue is it’s very warm, even with some of the patterns being quite holey it holds in heat. I did use acrylic yarn tho so it would probably be better with cotton.
wow, i can’t even believe it’s crocheted! There’s none of the hole-y vibes in it that usually come about with crochet sweaters. I love the stitch you used!

I added a lot of length to the sleeves (I’m tall)
I always have to do that too. Pants and sleeves are the worst 😂
Im short so the opposite issue...
My Grandma is 5' but I'm 5'11" so I have to craft for both 😂

Beautiful! I like the moderation/softening of the red and green. Makes it good for non-Christmas wear!
Thanks! I definitely made an effort to find colors that weren’t super bright. They’re even softer irl, the camera makes them pop a lot.
So pretty 😍😍😍 what kind of yarn did you use?
Thank you!!!
Green: Baby Bee Sweet Delight Yarn Shamrock N Roll
Red: Yarn Bee Yarntopia Scarlet
White: Baby Bee Sweet Delight Yarn Angel
Thanks 😊
So cute!
So cute holy moly, great job!

Girl, you ate. This is gorgeous!
Oh hey I’m making this right now! I’ve decided to add multiple stripe sections because I don’t want it to be so cropped. You did a really nice job!

I generally do not like crocheted Sweaters but this one is gorgeous! Well done OP! 💖
Omg this is amazing ! How long have you been crocheting for ? Hate your talented face lmao I cpuld never ! I cant even get my edges right on a blanket even when I use stitch markers !
Almost exactly a year! I started on Christmas last year. But hey edges are hard!! Lmao
Well you did AMAZING AND YOU WEAR IT SO WELL . looks so good on you !
Do you think this is beginner friendly??? Ive only ever made a sweater with Double crochet and it was a video tutorial.

Very pretty!
Did you make the pattern into a crop? The pic of the pattern doesn’t really look like a crop? Absolutely love whatever it is you did!
Gorgeous!! You did an amazing job!

looks like a totally different sweater with your colour choices. I love it! Perfect to wear for your Christmas festivities! Merry Christmas 🎄
Wow this is genuinely the prettiest crochet sweater I’ve ever seen!! Is it comfortable? I know crochet isn’t usually very stretchy and can be stiff

first sweater and it’s the most perfect thing i’ve ever seen. my first sweater looks like the easter bunny chewed up and spit out a couch cover 😂
Great job! It’s beautiful!
🤩🤩🤩 that is beautiful! What kind of yarn did you use?
Just found the answer below!
Is it red and green, or pink and gray??
It looks so amazing btw!
wow, i can’t even believe it’s crocheted! There’s none of the hole-y vibes in it that usually come about with crochet sweaters. I love the stitch you used!
Gorgeous work!!! It fits you perfectly!
Beautiful, well done!
Super cute! Well done, you! :)
Changing up the colors made the different textures in the pattern really stand out! Great idea!! Excellent execution!
What a stunning sweater!
