• This genuinely is not smth to brag about, reddit is not a positive social media environment

  • Definitely cringe

  • I don’t think the purpose of that post was him trying to seem ”cool”. Just that he doesn’t use same platforms as his friends and (I’m assuming) feels lonely?

  • More like all those other websites are oriented around connecting with people in your life or following brands and famous things with your identity out in the open. Reddit is mostly anonymous even if the site knows just as much about us. The other users don't know us beyond what info we provide.

That's basically the only difference, but I feel like it's a big one and the main reason I left all those other social media sites. I don't like there being my info, my picture, and all my closest contacts nicely packaged for identity thieves behind one accidental fake friend request. This happened to me multiple times on Facebook.

  • How did you manage to interpret that post so incorrectly lol? Maybe you tooo it personally

    How would you interpret this

That the person that posted it only uses Reddit whilst their friends use everything but Reddit.

I don’t understand how anyone looks at that image and interprets it as some kind of social media superiority flex lol

    They’re different and lonely

  • It’s funny how this image has been interpreted in 2 very different ways. I saw an original post of this the other day and half the commenters saw it as a ‘brag’ of some kind, the other half saw it as person only using Reddit whilst their family and friends etc. use the other shit.

  • Doesn’t belong on the sub. This is clearly someone admitting that they feel lonely and isolated.
