Was shopping on a website and found our future cast. You’re welcome Brandon.

  • Why does everyone make Szeth asian when he’s the only white members of the cast?

People tend to perceive their own ethnicity as the "default" due to being surrounded mostly by them, so without the description explicitly staying a character's ethnicity, we tend to default to our own. And when Szeth is introduced, there has yet to be any indication that Alethi don't look European, plus all the descriptions point to a vaguely fantasy-european architecture and culture (full plate armour and so on).

So 1. Alethi, run of the mill fantasy European knights, and 2. Szeth, the exotic outsider from a distant land, an assassin that relies on his dexterity rather than wearing any armour, and a notable trait is different eyes. And first impressions tend to stick

    Plus "Shin" sounds vaguely Asian

    It's a joke, gancho

[WOR spoilers] Yes! Everybody give the Lopen your spheres! I have glowing that needs to be done!

Shallan and Rock have light skin as well (and I think most Vedens/Horneaters?) Though Szeth is one of the few without the epicanthic fold feature of the eyes + fair skin

For me it’s the “sword-nimi” thing, plush “Shin” is kinda Asian sounding that makes me think he’s Asian. The Alethi being uncharacteristically tall people making me auto-picture them as dif races as well

  • Raceswap Adolin and Szeth and you're cookin some good stew, cousin.

  • Need my dalinar with 250 more pounds of muscle and break his nose a few more times
