I'm building an essential reading list as a coder, and since I've followed Brian's coding lectures, I would really like to get a feel for his style and quality to tie that back into what he's teaching. Trouble is, this list is getting so long I need to try and keep it efficient!
Which of Brian's programs would you say both epitomise his style and are easiest to flow through for someone reading as work?

As a coder, you’ll absolutely want to read Yumi and the Nightmare Painter first to understand that machines are the devil
And then Elantris to understand that the slightest mistake in your code can accidentally nuke the world.
And that fixing literally a single line can save it.
Just make sure you fix that line in every instance it appears instead of just one
I hope Brian Sanderson takes over writing his dad's Cosmere books after he dies. I'm sure it will go well and add lots of interesting new lore.
Brandon has yet to include a single Chairdog into the Cosmere, hopefully his son, Brian, can fix this once he takes over. Also, Shards in sand? Lame. Shards in water?? 🤔
Elantris is the way to go. It teaches the risks of testing in Prod really well. Otherwise, Stormlight has a multithreading character and Tress gives a good example for the use of Interfaces.
Elantris is also a textbook case of shitty error handling. Imagine what a simple try-catch block in an aon could have prevented.
My head canon is that Jasnah:coding::Taln:war. I will not be dissuaded otherwise.
Imagine the Sanderlanche of Jasnah coming to poorly commented code. It’d be like her deciphering the Rosetta Stone, but even more impactful because the code was supposed to do something.

Mistborn
Define A as the list of all his programs.
A.sort()
Done.
Is he related to branson sanderdon?
I‘d read King Lopen first as it introduces the most important character of the whole cosmere (Unless you’re serious)
Start with The Gathering Storm to really understand the most important Cosmiqueer characters.
