Hedgehogs should be hibernating until March. It might still be awake due to a mild winter. But it may be worth to treat it with a cat or dog food, and call wildlife support if it still looks lost in the morning.
Dog food doesn't have the right nutrients for them and will make them ill. I was told this a couple of years ago by Cork Wildlife Rescue when a neighbour found an ill hedgehog wandering the streets at 3pm in the day.
Call animal welfare and if possible get him into an old shoe box with some water and cat food. A shelter will pick it up. At least thatโs what they did in Dublin when we had one in the garden and thatโs what the shelter told my wife to do before they arrived
Or also known as a hodmedod in Norfolk.
Not that Iโve ever been there.
Hope the poor thing gets some grub and back to sleep, too cold for them to be out and about
As stated below, it should not be out at this time of year. If it stays around, leave it some cat or dog food as said by other poster. Do not leave out milk.
For nearly 10 or 12 years we had a hedgehog come to our shed every year without fail, he'd chase the cat out of the shed and eat her food and we all just went along with it. At night hed curl up into a ball in the middle of the patio because the sensor light probably frightened him, so hed just walk an inch or two and it would go off again each time๐คฃ absolute menace
Thanks for reminding me I milled a hedgehog outta it on the motorway the other night. I wasn't sure until I saw another at the shoulder looking across in horror.
Holy shit a hedgehog! I havenโt seen one since I was real young. They lived in my schools wildlife/garden area, never managed to find one outside of there. Dope little animals, so cute
Its 100% a hedgehog thats been disturbed from hibernation. I know because they are regular visitors to my garden during warmer months. Where is the โratsโ tail? Rats do not stand as upright on their limbs, rats do no have snout

Yea not a great sign for the hedgehog

Prickle rat
Poor little lad, be good if you could get him into a close by garden after he has had some dog/cat food. Iโd say he is disorientated
Maybe the lad in the vid knows that this particular hedgehog is a tout. ๐
Never knew ireland had porcupines
It's not a rat clearly. What's wrong with people now?
It's clearly some form of hippopotamus.

Holy shit a hedgehog! I havenโt seen one since I was real young. They lived in my schools wildlife/garden area, never managed to find one outside of there. Dope little animals, so cute

Clearly never seen a hog, and never seen a rat
That doesn't look like no hog to me.
Its 100% a hedgehog thats been disturbed from hibernation. I know because they are regular visitors to my garden during warmer months. Where is the โratsโ tail? Rats do not stand as upright on their limbs, rats do no have snout

That whooshing sound is the joke going completely over your head, much like the faster breed of hedgehogs can do.
