What would you do if your supervisor told your coworker to tell you to clock out? Instead of your supervisor coming up to you directly and telling you to clock out, they used your coworker to tell you that. Would you do clock out? Does it seem a bit unprofessional?

  • How is this a confession?

  • this is a hilarious post thank you

  • This is pretty vague. There are many circumstances where this could go either way. Did you go to your supervisor and ask if he wanted you to clock out? Seems like a decent resolution.

  • Any chance to go home from work don't have to ask me twice but I would confirm with your boss first

  • Not really. Maybe the boss didn't have time to come hunt you down, so they delegated

  • Id go and ask my supervisor directly whats up. Thats a weak leader getting someone else to tell you that. Or maybe he was tied up and busy with something and couldn’t tell you himself.

  • It’s called delegation.

  • I’d pretend that what happened was a scene from a horribly made film and continue working unbothered.

  • Perhaps the supervisor was heading into a meeting or phone call, saw your co worker, and asked them to pass the message on since they would not be available.

I swear the posts I see from today's workforce is crazy. Yall look for reasons to be mad at the world.

  • it's annoying, but don't risk getting in trouble for not clocking out.

  • that's super unprofessional.. they're literally getting paid to manage but can't even tell you to clock out themselves? i'd probably still clock out but definitely be annoyed. (sc: MiaYememi)

  • 1) this is not a confession

    2) a manager telling someone “hey can you go ask Limp Price to clock out?” Probably wouldn’t bother me unless I felt like I was doing something wrong so. Idk.

  • You only clock out if your immediate supervisor tells you or your day is done. Your co-worker has no authority over you.

  • Does anyone actually confess anything in this sub anymore? Seems like every post is some dumb, pointless, rant nowadays...

  • Yeah, that feels a bit unprofessional. I’d probably just clock out, but also make a note to clarify with the supervisor directly next time so it doesn’t keep happening.

  • They still communicated, just not directly. So as long as you received the messae, you shouldn't be mad. It's not unprofessional under these circumstances.
