This is what MAGA is working from here. This is what is being monetized: hatred and fear, lives as prizes in a scavenger hunt for those without morals. Anyone who is applauding is not only ignorant of history, it is what turns them on.
The ugliness in MAGA is made worse by the campy ignorance worn as a mask of its malice. They rage about being called Nazis themselves while employing the same mechanisms the Nazis did in order to terrorize the society they disdain: encouraging snitching, state-sanctioned persecution, specifically targeting already vulnerable communities. This is not just sloppy error or happenstance. It is the behavior of people who don’t possess empathy, who don’t possess imagination, who don’t possess the cognitive ability to realize they’re on the wrong side of history, who don’t realize being on the wrong side of history is a verdict, not a vibe. And yes, it is why so many Americans see MAGA and think trash, human trash, clinging to power by violence. A party not based on ideas or competence, but on the sting of resentment, the meanness of cowardice, the fleeting high of causing pain to others less able or willing to resist. If this analogy makes you angry, good. You should be. You should be ashamed. History is clear about people who take glee at the price offered for the head of a minority. History will not recall them as heroes or victims. History will recall them as accomplices to evil, fools who thought their ugliness was a virtue.

Hi, I’m not the person you asked but I did two years of high school in MD, and another two in GA.
In MD I was an honors student for some of my classes and I felt kinda mediocre, but in GA I was in honors entirely, and touted as a genius. (Partly due to the far weaker curriculum in GA, but also the lack of resources and much larger class sizes, in my opinion.)
We didn’t really go over the Holocaust in GA. We discussed WWII, but this “World History” course treated it no differently than some random section from ancient China.
It was like “Hey, here’s another bad thing…And we carry on.”
Then, in MD, we watched two movies, had essays, and did a book report. It was at least a third of the class and the gravity was far less undermined. I also recall my teachers in MD being far more lively and, while definitely stressed nonetheless, I actually felt like my teachers in MD had the capacity to express that gravity.
Our education system is in severe need of reformation. It’s the cause of all of this.

If it was Nazism the government would be killing people themselves. I'm not sure what LGBT protections are being stripped other than not putting Trans women into women's prisons which in some cases isn't working out so well for the female inmates. There's no guardrails on that stuff. I've seen cases where men get charged with multiple rapes and are facing life sentences and instantly become trans so they get put in with women that they go on to rape. Like I said, no guardrails. There's no way to know if a person is trans or if they're just gaming the system and let me be the first to tell you, gay and lesbians end up quite popular in prison.

I love how liberals cry about absolutely everything except their own party's failures. They cry about costs, yet were silent when costs were through the roof under Biden. They cry about gas prices, yet gas was almost $2 more per gallon under Biden. They cry about inflation, yet Biden had 9% inflation. They said nothing about any of this stuff under Biden's term. Inflation did go up when Biden was in charge. This happened because the world was slowly getting back to normal after the pandemic. The pandemic really messed up how things were made and sold and it also caused problems for people who were looking for work. Big companies took advantage of this situation to raise their prices a lot even though it cost them less to make things. The Republicans helped these companies. Gave them money but then they acted surprised when people got upset about the high prices. It is not fair to cause a problem and then complain about the result. Inflation is still a problem. It is related to what happened when Biden was in charge. Big companies like these are still raising their prices and the Republicans are still helping them. You cannot cause a problem like inflation. Then act like you are upset, about it.
Gas prices went up because of what's happening in the global oil markets. This is also because of the decisions made by OPEC. There are not refineries to meet the demand.. Then there is the war started by the leader of a country that has a lot of oil. This leader used to be criticized by your party. Now they do not say much.
Saying the president is in charge of gas prices is not a point. This is a way of looking at economics like something you would see in a cartoon for kids. People who say this are very sure of themselves. They say it loudly but they do not know what they are talking about. Gas prices are an issue and the president does not have complete control over them. The global oil markets and OPEC decisions and refinery bottlenecks and the war launched by the autocrat all play a role, in determining gas prices.
You want to talk about silence so let us talk about it. This is where your whole argument falls apart. Liberals were not quiet all. They talked about things all the time. They often disagreed with each other in a strong way. They said Biden did not do enough to cancel debt that he was too slow to stop companies from having too much power and that he did not do enough, about housing and healthcare and the climate. What you think is silence is actually liberals being able to look at themselves and say what they did wrong. Your party does not do that. Liberals can say when they made a mistake. That is something your party does not do which is called self criticism. Liberals practice self criticism. That is what you are missing.
Liberals are always fighting with their leaders because Liberals think their leaders should do better. Republicans get really upset when people criticize them and Republicans think that if you do not agree with them you are not loyal.
