Yeah, if the value or condition is worthwhile for you, it's best to make sure that's accounted for, especially if you have pets or anyone else in the home.
those books are sitting at the bottom of the bags and hanging off the edge - I'd say there's a pretty decent chance they'll take an indent on that edge as time goes by.
Not really but they will probably pick up ticks over time as they get bumped or handled or whatever. Which is fine comics are for reading not storing in a dark box until the end of time.
Normally this situation wouldn't be a problem because the bag would just gently hold the comic from moving inside. However you seem to be using the wrong size bags and boards for those comics. Those are silver age bags and boards which is apparent from the large amount of space to the left of the spines in the bag. If your comics never move this probably won't matter but it is not holding your comics correctly in the bag and this shelf is more dangerous to them this way.
I would say it will have some light exposure damage at least for the facing out cover. Over time it will happen. I would flip it around to have the backing board on the outside.
Like other people have said, they're technically fine this way. I'd bet that you are almost certain to bump into them at some point, either walking past them and kicking them accidentally, or vacuuming, or something.
Not likely. I’d be worried about walking past them and hitting them tho 🤷♂️
Okay, thanks. They arent likely to get knocked since the shelf is tucked in a corner where no-one walks
And that's when they get hit with a tote or big box that gets put somewhere where nobody walks.
Sorry, that's just how it would go for me.
Or a puppy escapes ands gnaws your books.
Not that I experienced that or anything…

I would classify this as an accident waiting to happen.
how do u mean?

I would just buy a longbox.
I’d make sure the boards are really pushed down into the bottom of the bag, just to make sure they’re what’s resting on the corner, not the comic

No, but they might be prone to bumping into.
Maybe. If they are too tight in the book shelf they could cause damage. Or if you run into them because of the over hang.

Its a bad idea.
I say maybe.
No it shouldn’t.

Being next to a Veronica Roth book? No, that's fine.
I’m not so sure…. (Note - never heard of her, so)
