"Following the release of Archie #1 in September 2026, Oni will release brand new classic collections including “compact digest editions, deluxe hardcovers and omnibi, and comprehensive box sets” that range from original creators John L. Goldwater, Bob Montana & Vic Bloom, to newer contributions from Mark Waid, Fiona Staples, Tom King, Chip Zdarsky and more. So, the whole 85 year history, basically."
Thank fuck. They canceled the Sabrina by Kelly Thompson collection, and they'll most likely do the same with Archie by Mark Waid. But I'm glad Oni plans to re-publish them.
Same here. 500+ page trades ala the Marvel Epic or DC Finest books would be great. I'd gladly purchase trades that contained 25 or so issues each of a classic title.
fr though and in full sized trades, too, like I've never liked the fact that since the early 2010s they almost exclusively released their archival material in digest size format.
I'd also KILL for a full-color, all-in-one edition, either a compendium or an omnibus, of Tania Del Rio's run on Sabrina.
Also Cosmo The Merry Martian, I'd love to see the OG series from the 50's and the two Flynn/Yardley minis from the late 2010s in one book.
I'm so glad they're finally doing something with Archie after they completely canceled the New Riverdale line. Patrick Horvath? Fuck Yes. Maxwell Prince? Why not? I've read a few issues of Ice Cream Man and enjoyed them. Don't know who the writer for sabrina is but sure, I'll buy it for sure.
And I'm damn glad they're planning on re publish the previous series from New Riverdale like the ones from Waid and Thompson.
And also the fact that comics featuring these characters are tough to sell at this point in history. The IP is valuable enough as a licensed thing... but maybe not enough to support a whole publishing operation.
Does this mean finishing the Varsity Edition hardcovers for Mark Waid’s Archie run? That, Archie 1951, Zdarsky/Waid+Ian Flynn’s Jughead, and Adam Hughes’s Betty and Veronica series all need fancy hardcovers.
Archie is the zombiest of brands, stripped of the particular style of cartooning the company developed over decades what's really the point artistically but it would be nice to have classic stuff in print.
Yes. Yes to all of that, thank you very much.
Fabio Moon, Kano, and Tyler crook?!?!?
W. Maxwell Prince!?!?! I am so in
Finally Sabrina content
Yeah these sound like they will actually sell. In the past year or 2 our shop barely orders any Archie due to low sales.
Just wish Patrick was also drawing Archie In Hell. I like Tyler’s art but Patrick would be a better seller.
This caught my attention from the article:

Unironically I’d buy a Marvel/DC style Archie omnibus like god dammit give me a 7 volume collection of Bronze Age Jughead

There's this, but it is in a fairly small digest sized format. Something regular sized would be appreciated.

Never read anything Archie in my life but if maxwells work on superman was anything to go off I’ll at least give this a try
Three new series, plus almost the entire collection to be reprinted in omnis, digests, hardcovers etc. What huge news.
Damn, Prince and Moon on Archie is crazy
Excellent news. Hopefully, Oni can do something with the MLJ heroes.
Fabulous news!

Corinna Bechko (the Sabrina writer) has mostly done licensed stuff in comics but it's generally good. Most recently worked on the EC relaunch.
Hopefully this means they will give classic Archie the epic collection treatment. Each character/series from the first appearance onwards
Great selection of artists. Really interested in the Archie #1.
I'm not even an Archie fan and this is phenomenal news.
Wow!
This is interesting, I hope this means we'll be seeing the Mighty Crusaders eventually. I miss them.
So...is Archie in bad shape or something?
I believe it's a family owned business, so it must be
Covid and now the Diamond bankruptcy really fucked them.
And also the fact that comics featuring these characters are tough to sell at this point in history. The IP is valuable enough as a licensed thing... but maybe not enough to support a whole publishing operation.
Its been in bad shape for a decade now. They cancelled their highest selling book as part of a purge of licensed titles to save money and stay afloat.
Safe to say...that did not pan out.
They did this Ten years ago and it was great. Just something they do every once in a while to try and bring in new readers
I just want volume 2 of Afterlife with Archie
They're working on it! For real!
Does this mean finishing the Varsity Edition hardcovers for Mark Waid’s Archie run? That, Archie 1951, Zdarsky/Waid+Ian Flynn’s Jughead, and Adam Hughes’s Betty and Veronica series all need fancy hardcovers.
They better reprint Archie vs Predator
Sounds very interesting
I hope they bring back Madhouse. That was their only title I ever really liked.
Where has Archie been? I looked away for a few years and it went from Mark Waid's New Archie and Riverdale to nothing. Left me a bit puzzled
Damn, Archie really just gave up to do something new themselves, huh? Still, it appears to be in good hands. Now if they also pick up Cosmo...
The creative teams on those books are great! This is pretty fantastic news - nice to get some Archie positivity.
Laughs in Archie Sonic.

They should tell some modern stories. Has Archie ever had a pregnancy scare?
