I really think they should move to having larger books with multiple stories bundled together like the old days so the big names can support smaller ones.
Manga works well with a bunch all in a cheaper magazine, and then releases higher quality trades if they are popular enough.
And bundling books together can make it cheaper in production and distribution so it doesnt need to cost as each book would individually.
Maybe. One does hear a lot of complaints on the internet by people who resent having to pay extra for a story about a character or characters they aren't interested in, but not sure if that translates into reality. DC does their quarterly "DC's Valentines Day Celebration" type stuff that are basically anthologies, and they must be making some money from them as they keep doing them.
That’s the real issue, if I’m a Batman reader who’s buying Detective Comics, and you DC adds a backup story, are they charging me an extra 1-2$ per issue, or are they cutting the page length in the main story? I don’t see a world where they tack it on to the end of every issue for free, so those are the 2 most realistic options
I think a compromise would be to keep them all family-related. Maybe lesser people would complain if say, it were a Batgirl or Robin backup in a Batman story. It's more logical that way.
I’m still bummed it got canceled but thrilled we still get more GA content. Even better Black Canary will join him since they also canceled BoP. May the two of them get quality stories so they can maybe pull solo titles again.
Batman and Robin is like pb&j and predates pretty much everyone alive. But also he's got enough books that it's not all family all the time. There is usually one solo story going at any given moment
What hero doesn’t have a “family” these days? There’s the Bat family, the Flash family, the Superman family, the Green Arrow family, the Wonder Woman family, Spidey’s kind of got a family, all the X-Men are like a weird family, everyone in Hulk’s world is or was a Hulk at a one point, and of course the Fantastic Four are Marvel’s first family
I'm not buying low sales. My shop consistently sells out of GA. It's doing modest sales, but I guess when you're not Ab Batman you're not worth publishing 🙄
Maybe this will lead to him having a backup every month in Detective like in the old days.

Lately we've been getting like 8-10 pages of previews in a lot of books so maybe they go there.

They seem to remember them doing crossover books. They would put all the crossovers of a storyline in one book, obviously after the original run

Oof, both of those cancellations hurt.
As a supporting character or in backups?
The wording of this seems extremely disingenuous. The synopsis makes it seem like it’s just for a guest appearance.
I would like to know as well
Stopped with Green Arrow comic because I wasn’t a fan of the whole “family” of Arrows concept 🤷
Every book is that nowadays. It's a legit issue for everyone not named Batman who gets 3-5 titles s month.
Right which is why I stopped with Action Comics too. Batman family I can tolerate for some reason.

That's the issue I want to read single character stories not ensembles
The recent GA run wasn't really that
The Flash and Arrow family's are just fundamentally not interesting to me to read and take up SO much space in their respective books.
Isw 😭
it's like they don't believe the individual character's good enough to hold their own anymore
Oh
kay
sigh

Yes, yes, I'm sure your shop buying a handful of copies is indicative of worldwide sales.
Get some therapy friend. Being a twat on the internet isn't the flex you think it is.
