I was reading about the plan to end Doctor Dooms arc after the multiverse saga and I can't help but feel Doom deserves more!
Doom deserves his own saga, like a leveled up version of the Thanos arc. They should treat him more like Loki (without the redemption).
I think a better approach would be to do an entire saga where each hero is entangled with one of his schemes unknowingly, but with clearer evidence of Dooms manipulation, not just cameos like with Thanos. Then they need to tie it altogether with a couple of Team Up movies. Shoving him in to replace Kang is an insult to one of the greatest villains of all time

I just want a good movie.
I hope, but I'm increasingly skeptical, that Doom is Victor Von Doom and not a Tony Stark variant. Doom is such an incredible character and having him he an alternate Tony Stark seems like such a waste.
I get that a dark Stark might be impactful for an audience not familiar with comics, but there aren't that many characters kicking about that knew him well and for it to properly effect and Doom should be an ongoing presence not just used for 2 movies.
I don't remember who, but either Kevin or the Russo bros said that RDJ is playing Victor Von Doom. I honestly have no clue how he will do it without having relation to Tony, and that is my biggest concern. They are re-releasing endgame, so I don't know if it is because they want the audience to try and catch a plot point we could catch on to, or just stick around for a new post credit scene.
I really hope there isn't some bs surrounding RDJ as Doom though, because if Marvel pulls some stupid shit like another doctor doom is dreamwalking in Tony's body, because that will not sit well with anyone that enjoys watching the MCU.
I just hope that the writers have found a genuine good reason to deliver doom in a thought out manner. I am fine with him being from a different universe because this movie is multiverse focused. But it is definitely confusing that it is stated he is playing Victor Von Doom but it appears they are trying to mix in elements from Endgame.
What is nice about dealing with secret wars and multiversal elements though is that Marvel can kind of keep whoever and whatever they want after secret wars. It would be a good time to analyze what was and wasn't a success in phases 4/5 and then they can recast whatever they want. this would be a good opportunity to create a universe where the Avengers, F4, X-men, and any other characters/teams can coexist and all be on the same timeline and universe to create more comic accurate storylines. In my opinion I wouldn't mind them doing a soft-mid reboot after secret wars and recasting characters like iron man, cap, Thor, X-men (obviously), and other Heroes/villains that are a little bit older do have another long lasting MCU with younger actors that will commit to the roles longer. I think James Gunn definitely set the precedent for this by casting David Corenswet, who wasn't a super well known actor before superman (at least I don't think lol). He fit the role amazing and DC didn't blow a ton of money on him, saving money for other parts of the project. Marvel should copy this format as well post secret wars, and let their writing build up the actors instead of having to rely on huge names, especially because in phases 4/5 a lot of the stuff did not strike well with the audience.
I got a feeling that endgame rewatch party might be for the Steve's ending. Like they said its direct continuation, and i hope Steve isnt responsible for Doom showing up, but i feel like with the recent teaser thats been shown around, that might be a hint.
I think it would definitely have to be a reason Doom shows up, since cap traveled back in time to spend his life with Peggy, then:
has another variant of himself stuck in ice which causes a branch timeline/incursion
In that same branch timeline him having a kid causes an incursion
If everyone in that branch timeline is aware Steve rogers is alive and back, they might not go looking for the Tessaract which changes the course of the entire MCU as we know it, because they would not have found Cap when they did, causing an incursion.
Another thing to consider could be that multiple people could've caused incursions, such as Strange and his entire movie, or Tony Stark talking to his father. Tony's mere existence in the past could've immediately caused an incursion, much less talking to his father (this could also build off the rumor of Howard Starks child being due on the date that isn't Tony's birthday.)
In terms of endgame, they will most likely be putting a new post credit scene after it, and they probably want us to focus on the time travel aspect as a whole. I just hope that Steve Rogers is not the main character, but is involved and is not Captain America, I also once again hope they have a legit reason for Dr. Doom wearing Tony's face.
I 100% think post Secret Wars is a soft reboot. Jonathan Hickman couldn't have given a more perfect premise for them to base it on if he tried. I loved Hickman's run from Avengers/New Avengers into secret wars so I'm all in favour of them taking stuff from his run like they did with Infinity War,/Endgame.
I just hope that with Doom usually being scarred or armoured they can cover RDJ with prosthetics so he's not visually similar to Tony Stark and not be a Stark variant..I don't think that's gonna be the case though.
Yea, he will definitely look like stark and have facial scarring. the only thing i can think of as to where it has to be RDJ as doom is maybe the same thing happened to him as it did tony with the stones, but maybe he survived in that universe and maybe it killed a bunch of other avengers (just kind of spitballing). That is one possible theory or maybe some weird time branch from when they traveled back to get pym particles, it could've created an alternate timeline where howard stark explaining that he is due for a kid on the date that isn't Tonys birthday, maybe that somehow created an alternate timeline to where he is maybe either adopted by a latverian family or stranded and raised by a latverian family, whatever theory you want to slap in that narrative though with the whole traveling back in time and tony meeting his dad.
Bro, at this point I just hope the movie is worth it. I went from “I want an accurate comic adaptation” to “please be good”.
There’s a chance Doom is a bust & waste like Kang, or there’s a chance he’s not. No in between. Still not a fan of the casting choice, but I definitely want to see it, not as excited as I am for anything else releasing next year though.
I want a return to form. I haven't loved a Marvel movie since Infinity War. I want that magic back.
I just hope that the RDJ is some sort of fakeout. And I want Doom to get more than one movie so he's not just a big bad for one movie (or pt1 and pt2 arc). Increasingly, it seems like neither of those things are true. So I don't know. It seems like the MCU creative might have taken the wrong lessons away from the last decade of wobbliness. Hope springs eternal and all that but I don't know.
Secret wars will likely be at least a soft reboot, so Doom could always come back
I’m hoping we empathize with Victor and end up hating Doom. So much so, we forget he was Tony.
That it’s fun.
People aren’t going to be happy no matter what they do with Doom. Variant? Problem. Cap vs Doom because Evans vs RDJ instead of Reed vs Doom? Problem. Putting anyone on screen that isn’t from the infinity saga? Problem. Legacy characters die too soon? Problem.
I don’t share any of those pre-judgement issues fans have with the MCU as of late and I’m just asking for the film to be a fun ride. If they can do that, it’ll be worth it.
Yeah I agree definitely. It seems like these "fans" are hating on every logical possibility, and instead they keep clinging to the idea that Doom will never take his mask off in the entire film and will have a deep, comic accurate rivalry with Reed, even though he only had one movie... and in his first appearance, Doom already has the mask off. That's just not going to happen. I can 100% guarantee that Doom will be related to Tony in some way or another. Many people will hate that, and understandably so, but at this point I just hope the movie is fun.
yea marvel needs a reboot. its sad doom could be wasted again
A revenge motive goes for Doomsday in total.
God emperor doom please
A good movie, and a good version of Doctor Doom. I’m, uh… really hopeful lol
I hope that they incorporate an over-the-top psychotic obsession with defeating and humiliating Reed Richards. It's the funnest part of his personality.
I just don't understand how Marvel plans to not only introduce Victor Von Doom, but also have him be a Stark variant, then re-introduce Steve Rogers, re-introduce the 2000's X-Men, bring together the Fantastic Four, Dr. Strange, Spider-Man, Thor, Shang-Chi, and the Thunderbolts, while also re-introducing the concept of incursions in one movie and not have it be a bloated mess.
They are hoping they can replace good writing with fan service
Incursions have at least been mentioned in a previous movie. And I'm 99% sure that the Russos or Kevin said that RDJ is not a Tony variant, but he is actually Victor Von Doom
Doom better have a rivalry with mr. Fantastic and no one else. And I also want the fantastic four to be the main leads other than the MCU trinity
i think after secret wars the new timeline should include a less powerful doom variant that just fucks with everyone including the fantastic four and then be done with him lol
Well I was hoping for an actual Doctor Doom casting and for Chris Evans' death to actually matter, but Disney shit the bed so much both of those are out the window.
For it all to be over quick.
i just want doom to be a total badass
