and the pic itself was AI of some lady. Could have used literally any pic and overlayed the visual snow but it had to be some woman staring at OP in bed as if they just woke up married. Weird.
You can have your issues with the official Reddit app and its updates over the years but you have to admit that the Snoo is adorable. I love his little butt and the way he runs when the app is loading.
I have this. I didn't realize it was uncommon until I was like 21. A big reason for that is film grain. I always thought film grain was made by humans to make videos and photos look more natural. Little did I know that there's nothing natural about film grain.
Same! I loved my old tv bc the snow channels calmed things down for me a bit, same with the grain filters on games-- took me years to try to comprehend what "normal" vision was lol
SO IT ACTUALLY IS SOMETHING! I went to my Optometrist with this before and she just dismissed it. Glad to finally know the name of it.. from a meme no less
Funi image aside, "has no cure" is a lie. Visual snow is merely a symptom. It can get better or even reverse fully depending on what is causing it. It can also get worse. Mine is caused by intracranial hypertension and gets almost imperceptible on days when my pressure is lower.
Dog, that's not "having a cure," that's being able to treat it. You still have it. Past that, last I've heard there's evidence in both camps that it's an issue in the brain versus directly with the retinas, so you can't say that there's a cure when the condition doesn't even have a definitive location in everyone
Saying "has no cure" usually means "you can't do shit about it, have fun suffering". "Has no cure" and "incurable" are synonyms. Which isn't true when it's often a symptom of something else and this "something else" might be treatable.
Also, quote where I said "there's a cure" because I don't remember saying such words lol.
All I said is that it can be a symptom of a different condition, and depending on said condition it can get better or even fully reverse. Therefore, blanket statements such as "it has no cure" are harmful because they make people give up instantly, just live with it and not pursue the matter further. When in many cases the condition could be improved or even reversed. Also, it can point towards an underlaying medical issue. A similar case happens with tinnitus, for that matter.
I was being petty with somantics, I see where you're coming from a lot better now. I think I've seen too many posts about it with people trying all sorts of things or looking for some "catch all solution" that doesn't seem to exist. Sorry for the fuss
The image didn't load properly so the loading image just makes it seem like because of their condition all they see is the Reddit mascot with their ass out
I have that as well and it’s so impossible to describe to anyone. I wonder how he got diagnosed (though there is nothing the can do and it isn’t a disability so who cares I guess)
The Wikipedia page for visual snow has a very accurate gif for what it looks like with closed eyes, and there are images on Google of it to various degrees of severity, this is what I use to explain it to people. I have it too albeit acquired through an accident. But yes not a lot to be done about it, although tinted glasses used for migraines (green or orange seem to work best) can be helpful if it is annoying you

Man if beating a dead horse is all the craze these days why not jump off the bridge with them?

You're capped on how much Karma you can get from a single post/comment idk exactly how much the cap is.
This guy was also getting mad at anyone making jokes about it.

Damn that’s interesting.
Sorry, what's so funny about this?
The image failed to load, and is instead little reddit guy with his ass up. So the implication is he probably sees ass up reddit constantly
Thanks Peter
Honestly I also came to the comments to see if anyone had explained why this is funny
