I'm only interested in the breakdown on what Femboys voted for on each candidate. Why can't credible news sources ever give people the real information the public wants?
Don't bring that kind of nazi talk around here, the homeless are a part of the city, like the Empire State Building or the State of Liberty. Is it really commuting to work if you don't need to switch your subway car every so often?
Related question to your unrelated question - when Zohran says he wants to tax the rich, he qualifies rich as those made over $100k per year, right? 🙄😂
As a SI’er, then you should know that half the population on the island are either ppl who moved there from other boroughs or their family did before them.
I was still young and my family moved there when my parents divorced. Im Filipino and theres a big Filipino community in SI. Prob the 2nd biggest Filipino community in NYC after Queens.
The stereotypical/negative things you hear about SI are fairly true, but there is alot more to SI than those things. Its just you only hear about the negatives.
I moved to Greenpoint for a year to be closer to work bc my job at the time required me to be on call and come in within 30min. When i left that job i moved back to SI.
Like I said in my previous comment, at least half the boro are people that moved there from other boros or their family did before them, like mine. People always say that no one ever goes to SI. Which is fairly true when it comes to it being a social destination. But ALOT of people move to SI from other boroughs everyday. All of my friends growing up were originally from BK, the BX, and Queens. I personally dont know anyone who was born and raised in SI. Most people/families move to SI when theyre tired of the busy city/urban life, but at the same time still wana be close to it, or have a mixed balance of city/urban life and suburban/residential life. Which is exactly what SI is.
I live on the North Shore which is the urban, blue, diverse, more populated section of SI. Its the side where Wu Tang originated from, specifically the Park Hill and Stapleton neighborhoods which are hood.
I mean other than not having a real train system other than the one line we have, plus the ferry and buses, there isnt really much of difference between living in other residential areas of the other boroughs besides that its better to have car. Obviously our nightlife and things like that arent anything compared to Manhattan but there are plenty of hangouts spots but most us go to the city and bk to go out.
I personally like living in SI bc i like having a car, its cheaper, im in the middle of BK, the city, and Jersey which i all frequently go to for either work, family, friends, dating, i come home to quiet, bigger living space for my money. Im actually trying to leave nyc all together bc i wana own property soon ad i have a family now. My wife moved from BK to SI for me and doesnt miss it. Got her best friend to leave BK to SI as well.
I get it as a young single person still in a partying and exploring phase you wana be in the City or BK or LIC/Astoria. But as someone whos pushin 40 and has a 2 year old, im done with that. I want a yard my kid can play in and house to host family gatherings.
Bro, I genuinely appreciate the thoughtful detailed reply. I had no idea there was a Filipino population in SI like that. I’m married with a 2 year old also and just put an offer on a house in the Hudson valley, but never considered SI. Thanks man, truly.
Ima be honest with you, the worst thing about living in SI in my personal experience is telling ppl you live in SI lol bc of all the surrounding negativity you hear about it. But me, my family, my friends, all diverse POC originally from different boros or cities, have no real gripe about SI, besides it being the “uncool” boro. But when youre grown and have a family like you and I, you dont care about shit like clout chasing anymore.
I will say tho, for anyone who thinks about moving to SI, stay on the North Shore to Mid Island. Once you get closer to the South Shore, is when you see all the negative stereotypes you hear about.
I appreciate you hearing me out bro, i know it was a lot lol. Peace and blessings to you and your family! ✊🏽
All the NYC subs are full of people complaining about dog shit everywhere in the city and yet cuomo thought he’d be voted into office like he isn’t king dogshit
I dislike Mamdani’s policies, but I dislike Cuomo as a human being even more. The arrogance of that man, thinking he could waltz into office after what happened while he was governor.
This was always a lose-lose election for me, but at the very least I’m glad NY told Cuomo to go kick rocks.
I think the last-minute Trump endorsement actually lost him election-day votes. Some Republicans might have swung to him, but definitely some people who liked some Cuomo policies were turned off.
I don’t think he had a chance after losing the primary. The people who voted for Mamdani were never going to change their mind, if anything they were more emboldened to shut him down after he tried running as an Independent. And beyond that, you’d be a fool to think there’s a large enough non-progressive populace to result in the winner of the Democratic primary not winning the general election.
The math never mathed in his favor, but his ego wouldn’t allow him to see that.
I was born in Ohio and moved to New York when I was 24. I’ve lived in NY for well over ten years. I voted for the man with the red hat and seventeen cats.
If it makes you feel any better, my son was born in…New Jersey.
He’s lived in the Bronx since he was a week old, but alas…he will never be a true New Yorker.
I moved here because the movies told me the streets were paved with avocados.
Instead? I'm on Hinge for guys who will take me out on a dinner date
Also, I'm a straight white male who's married.
So it gets kinda touchy when I go to the bathroom just before we're getting the check and ask the waiter to add 3 meals 😬... WHAT!? Don't judge, my wife's boyfriend has to eat too!
Young white progressives from all over the country who’ve spent at most 3 days partying in nyc (while staying in Hoboken due to cost) are rejoicing on social media because “nyc did something”
The international city with centuries of immigration from all over the world has people from different places moving to it? Holy shit, stop the fucking presses, we've got breaking news!
Is it possible that most people who were born in NYC already have a home, so they don't worry much about rent and buying a new home? They are more likely to already own one or more properties to live in and to rent out, so maybe that's why they support mamdani less?
There's still a lot of people born here who live in rent controlled or stabilized units which are still well below market value even with an annual 3% increase. A good half of my 80+ unit building is geriatric and have been in their units for decades.
Maybe or also because we lived through 9/11, blackouts, hurricane Sandy, blizzards, Covid, strikes and other shit and realize the importance of experienced governance in a city like this and at the end of the day idealism doesn’t keep the city running
There is a difference between immigrants who actually bring culture and community to the city and people like spoiled rich Stacy from Ohio who came to NYC cause she watched an episode of sex and the city
For real though I’m an Ohioan that’s been here for 10 years lol. But what is it with Ohioans in New York being a running joke? I rarely meet other Ohioans or midwesterners but I meet tons of people from CA.
I'm only interested in the breakdown on what Femboys voted for on each candidate. Why can't credible news sources ever give people the real information the public wants?
69% Mamdami - he’s cute and young and breedable
26% Sliwa - he loves cat(girl)s
5% Cuomo - they just read “cum”
Cuomo taking the name of this sub literally
We all know who wet the polls this time
The media only wants one thing and it’s fucking disgusting (femdom boyz)
What kind of femboy are you .gif
Sigh, I really wanted all the homeless people to go to Rikers. Would have made the commute so much more tolerable
Don't bring that kind of nazi talk around here, the homeless are a part of the city, like the Empire State Building or the State of Liberty. Is it really commuting to work if you don't need to switch your subway car every so often?
This litterally could be changed to age groups and i bet the graph would look the same
Yeah I don’t think this is as damning as it might seem
Are you suggesting there’s a population of people who have been in NYC for less than five years, but aren’t younger than 30?
Work in Florida so you can retire in NYC.
Those Floridian summers are rough
My dad pays for my rent and the thought of paying for it myself causes me to wake up in a cold sweat at night.
I voted for Zohran because I know if my dad ever cuts me off, at least daddy Zohran will take care of me next.
Unrelated question, when Zohran says he wants to tax the rich, he can’t tax people in other states right? I want to make sure my inheritance is safe
This subreddit helps me train my ability to understand sarcasm with the sharpness of an edge of a samurai blade
😂
Related question to your unrelated question - when Zohran says he wants to tax the rich, he qualifies rich as those made over $100k per year, right? 🙄😂
Zorhan also said the tax only applies to whites. Not sure if that applies to you or an out of state white inheritance.
I thought he meant tax ner jersey rich but then realized it didnt exist
Good thing it’s not just the undereducated townies running things
Cuomo is #1 with billionaires and people who've never left Staten Island their entire lives.
Found the guy from Ohio
I'm from Staten Island.
Hey, don't talk about yourself like that. You deserve basic human dignity and kindness even from yourself
Did I stutter?
I love this sub
I am a sub
You're telling me a sandwich made this comment?
I love lamp
I’m so sorry
As a SI’er, then you should know that half the population on the island are either ppl who moved there from other boroughs or their family did before them.
I stopped reading there. Opinion invalid.
You stopped reading there? Also wasnt an opinion, its a fact.
I’m from Astoria bud. I was referring to you as a SI’er. YOU said youre from SI. So your own opinion is invalid? Makes sense.
That guy is a top 1% commenter and has over 130k karma— fuck never leaving Staten Island, dude never leaves his house.
Or his basement
Not starting a fight, but why move to SI from Astoria, and why stay. I’m actually super ignorant to what life is like there.
I was still young and my family moved there when my parents divorced. Im Filipino and theres a big Filipino community in SI. Prob the 2nd biggest Filipino community in NYC after Queens.

So, winners?
Well and people who have never left general NYC
All the NYC subs are full of people complaining about dog shit everywhere in the city and yet cuomo thought he’d be voted into office like he isn’t king dogshit

lol he might have won if Adams and Sliwa weren’t on the ticket
Mamdani would have won even if you gave all of Sliwa's votes to Cuomo
And Adams?
Adams got 6000 votes, he is incredibly irrelevant. So yes
lol lol 6,000 votes for a guy not even running.
I just looked at the full breakdown. If it was only Cuomo and Mamdani, Cuomo potentially would have gotten over 49% of the votes.
Closer than I thought.
Breakdown of transplant vote?
Bringing the O back to NYC!
Born in New York City and voted for Zohran. If he fucks this up I’ll have to learn to drive so I can leave.
Curious are you under 35?
I’m only 14 I just went to the polls and voted under my dads name
I was born in Ohio and moved to New York when I was 24. I’ve lived in NY for well over ten years. I voted for the man with the red hat and seventeen cats.
Ty for your service
Mamdani is transplant catered? I wish I knew 😡
We need to limit this fraudulent TRANSPLANT voting. Only native New Yorkers deserve a voice.
Only the rich Staten Islanders should be able to vote in any elections
[deleted]
okay transplant 👌🏼
Can i be considered "transplanted"
If it makes you feel any better, my son was born in…New Jersey. He’s lived in the Bronx since he was a week old, but alas…he will never be a true New Yorker.
You’re not but you’re not one of us either. Them’s the breaks
Is anybody surprised by this?
Let’s all thank the shitty insufferable white people
Yeah he's tailor made for transplants and young white folk, I still voted for him because the options were shit
Young white progressives from all over the country who’ve spent at most 3 days partying in nyc (while staying in Hoboken due to cost) are rejoicing on social media because “nyc did something”
literally my friend group, and we're all NJ people
They’re so pathetic
Sliwa is the realest. Should’ve won.
/unjerk this is actually sad. Gentrification is fucking horrible.
Agree half those people in the top line will probably have left NY 3 years from now
The international city with centuries of immigration from all over the world has people from different places moving to it? Holy shit, stop the fucking presses, we've got breaking news!
It’s not the people moving here from other countries but rather the rest of the US.
Surely nobody in the US has been moving to its largest, most influential city until very recently.
Is it possible that most people who were born in NYC already have a home, so they don't worry much about rent and buying a new home? They are more likely to already own one or more properties to live in and to rent out, so maybe that's why they support mamdani less?

AMEN. Transplant came to NYC to fuck it up. Bringing nothingness with them.
Stop crying bro. You’re embarrassing yourself 😂
I’ll say it.
Fuck the people born here.
Right back at ya transplant
a weird amount of NY’ers love the orange semen deep inside of them
the facts here
As if NYC isn’t full of immigrants. This data is so flawed
There is a difference between immigrants who actually bring culture and community to the city and people like spoiled rich Stacy from Ohio who came to NYC cause she watched an episode of sex and the city
God i wish i can jsut sleep thru the next four years
Great job transplants and non-US born voters you have ruined the city.
For real though I’m an Ohioan that’s been here for 10 years lol. But what is it with Ohioans in New York being a running joke? I rarely meet other Ohioans or midwesterners but I meet tons of people from CA.
Voting for Cuomo should disqualify your native status in my opinion.
OMG! Those who voted for Cuomo should be ashamed of themselves!
The zionism is strong with the lifers
40 years. My dude won.
