Just got a unit in for review, and it's looking like a beast. Can easily video edit in 4k on InShot, and it's super fast exports! This appears to be better optimized than the Lenovo Chromebook with the Kompanio Ultra, as that one had its issues on video editing and multitasking (But i think I had a Lemon)
But we are here, we can finally really video edit on Chromebooks in 4k on the Android apps with ease.
A full review is coming soon, but this unit is shaping up to be the one to get.
...if only it used NVMe over UFS. =/
Mine should arrive on Monday. Which one did you get? I went 12gb 120hz screen.
Yuup!! I had no expectations going into this, but this thing is impressive already just after 3 hours of use
Anyone have a link to this? I’d like to look at the specs
This may be the Spin variant https://www.acer.com/gb-en/chromebooks/acer-chromebook-plus-spin-514-cp514-5h-cp514-5hn
Which codec? At what FPS?
H.265 (HEVC) from my DJI Drone at 30 fps
Obviously, I'm not doing super complex videos, but I did a quick test, 3 different 4k files at 20 seconds each, added transitions, sticker gif overlays, music, animations, and an AI insert, and it was good.
My phone S24 ultra is a lttle but smoother in playback, but this is great considering its a Chromebook
Question: have you tried its Linux subsystem yet? I've always wondered how well video editors like shotcut or openshot would run on crostini with 4k hevc... I've read that GPU cannot be used in crostini.
Been using the Spin 514 with the Kompanio for over a month now. I love it!

Wow, this Sounds amazing.
Is it fanless?
