    You need to be certified with 2 years experience minimum for a decent job. With a post-grad degree, or even a CELTA certification, you'll be a unicorn.

    Yes, this. If a 120 hour TEFL 'certificate' was a pathway to a decent career then everyone would be jumping on it. OP can aim to be a kindergarten monkey or can go back to school and get a non-social sciences degree, then come back and do China properly.

  • Backup of the post's body: My partner, we are currently long distance, is back in Chengdu so ideally I would work there but anywhere in China is good. I read a lot that China has a lot of job opportunities but I honestly have no clue where to look, other than the TEFL job listings. I have a BA and have done my TEFL course. Any advice would be great, thanks!!
