Does anyone find the showing of the pregnancy test gross? I mean, you pee on it... And then you show it on social media? Maybe it's just me

  • I mean, these are people who tell everyone they're "trying" aka actively cumming in/being came in during family dinner. šŸ˜…

Anyone else talks about sex and it's OMG Taboo.😱

Ugh my niece posted on Facebook about ā€œTTCā€ & I had no clue what that meant so I unfortunately looked it up & found out it means ā€œtrying to conceive.ā€

Whatever happened to waiting until you’re safely into the pregnancy to announce that???

Well obviously they’re the first pregnant person ever so they’re entitled to a party and parade /s

But, yanno. It’s these darn gays who are shoving their sexuality in their faces /sarc

On that note I’ll never understand when people express such deep sadness from being unable to get pregnant or have children. Like it isn’t that deep… I don’t understand this supposed emotional toll

yeah i get you might not understand but i can totally see why it upsets people. it can most definitely be that deep when people want a child so badly but something in their body isn’t allowing it to happen. it can feel like a huge failure. and it’s perfectly find to not feel any concern about having children for yourself but tbh it’s still better to show empathy if you know people experiencing this in your life.

    Like it isn’t that deep…

Eh, I'm gonna have to disagree. I think it's unfair to dismiss infertility as "not that deep" when it's something some people really want and often go through invasive medical treatments or repeated loss while trying.

Infertility is just another type of loss of agency, and no one enjoys that.

  • Ive always thought it was weird when people keep the used test in a baby book. A dirty pee stick should not be a keepsake with the ultrasound photos.

I also saw a gross clip on AFV of a little girl who stuck a used pregnancy test in her mouth thinking it was a thermometer, and the mom had to tell her what it actually was. It was nasty.

Like bro just take a picture 😭

Yeah that’s the part I think is gross is keeping it. A photo isn’t that bad, it’s a better way to preserve the memory they want than keeping a stick they actually peed on. I’m pretty sure the dyes on that positive line would eventually fade anyway.

I also saw a gross clip on AFV of a little girl who stuck a used pregnancy test in her mouth thinking it was a thermometer, and the mom had to tell her what it actually was.

If you could see the look on my face right now...

Ugh, I'm gonna vomit my Christmas dinner

I saw a tiktok where the woman hid it in her husband's sandwich 🤢 he was mortified

    That's a straight up biohazard

I’m so glad I haven’t eaten yet but that is absolutely disgusting. Children.. what a joy.

Then you have people that save a part of the umbilical cord. Like wtf?

Makes me think of that fondue scene in Meet the Fockers 🤢

Body parts should not be a momento. Medical waste belongs in the incinerator.

No! They’re my organs and I should get to have it in a jar! 😔 still mad my gyno wouldn’t let me have my uterus after pathology testing. But she did get me lots of pictures. I have all kinds of dead things, username checks out for this girly.

Right! I made that, I should be able to keep it!

  • I was touring a house recently with my friends because they’re in the market, and the homeowners kept not one, but two positive tests on display? I thought usually the kid was enough of a trophy…

On DISPLAY? People are ridiculous šŸ˜‚

  • It's better than the rabbit test of yesteryear

    The what now?

Historically pregnancy tests required animal testing. They used to use rabbits.

It's also called the Friedman test, and I don't want to go into the details, but plastic sticks are a huge improvement. They just need to be disposed of and not framed.

  • Y’all didn’t see the episode of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives where Whitney stuck her used preg test in the CAKE they were eating??
    Surprise! Piss cake!

I came here to mention this šŸ˜† I was screaming

  • Used pregnancy tests are biohazards and should be disposed of as such. No parading that shit around

  • There was one going viral a while back with the pee still on it and having a dark orange/light brown color. Like…thanks for showing us you don’t drink water at allšŸ’€

  • Would rather see that then a fucking gender reveal lol

I think intimate reveals can be cute but when it’s a circus/party it’s an attention/gift grab lmao

Agreed! After covid, I'm very much in favor of celebrating all the things... with your immediate people, lol. But overall I don't love how parents seem to lose all sense of boundaries, normal conversation topics, oversharing , and the inability to talk about anything else.

You have a child and you're in this sub?

  • It is disgusting.

  • Reminds me of the time a friend posted a picture of her and her husband with her holding up a white stick. Cue all of the "OMG YOU'RE PREGNANT!!!!!!1111" replies.

Except it was very clear (to me, at least) that she was holding a piece of Lego... *headdesk*

(I don't know if it was supposed to look like a pregnancy test as a joke, or if it was just an innocent picture that had unintended consequenes...)

  • I follow the r/confused subreddit just out of curiosity regarding things people get confused about, and literally (NOT EVEN HYPERBOLE) half of the posts there are just pregnancy tests done by people who either don't understand the instructions or didn't even bother to fucking look at them.

  • Yes I also found this gross.

  • Not really. But I dislike the trend that was happening where they had cups of pee and doing the old wife’s tale to see what gender it will be. I don’t really want to see your pee

  • Yeah it's disgusting tbh.

  • Me too!!!! I thought I was the only one. Like… that’s a pee stick. Ain’t nobody wanna see that

  • They do it so much in movies and TV shows. I loathe it

  • Yes, it’s gross and some give it as gifts to their parents

  • I frequent recreational drug subs.

We show off our tests, too.

I'd much rather see a pregnancy test than the newborn!

  • Yes, it is absolutely disgusting

  • I remember seeing a post on Facebook about a woman hiding a positive pregnancy test in her husbands pancakes before she gave them to him.

    Like…what…???!

Also I was eating pancakes at the time which made it even worse!

  • Meh… not really. More harmless than a gender reveal party.

  • It's just a stick. It's not like they're making you touch it.

Posting their kids on Facebook within hours of birth however is an abhorrently disgusting behaviour

  • I never thought about it that way, but that is gross!

They need to quit bragging about their pee stick. What’s next? A cum stain from their boyfriends showing off how many sperm are swimming?

  • Not really. Worse things to get annoyed about

  • Nope. I don’t think bodily functions are gross or weird.

  • I don’t find it that weird as long as they properly (and thoroughly) clean the test off. And also don’t touch it, make other people touch it, etc. if they do touch it, i hope they put it away when they’re done and wash their hands. I think it makes sense for some people to want to keep their positive tests, since for some they hold extra significance. (Like parents who struggled with infertility.)

  • Not really.

    Good for them tbh.

  • Never found it weird. It’s not like I’m touching the stick.

  • I don’t really find it gross to just post a photo of it. Keeping it beyond a few weeks is weird to me though, that should not be a forever keepsake.

Is it gross to you for someone to post a photo of their bathroom renovation, when you know that they have peed into that toilet?

Are they posting a picture of the inside of the toilet, especially before flushing?

    It's not the same thing

  • Not me. As long as nothing weird is being done with the test.

  • It’s definitely not just you because I’ve definitely thought it was weird and disgusting to hand over something to your spouse that you just peed on or keep it as a keepsake. Then I started wondering.. is there something I’m missing? Can you sanitize it somehow? Even if you could.. why would you want to keep a pee stick? Even doctors toss out urine samples when they’re done with them.
