Ok so I have no further details but I wondered if something was going on with them - earlier this year r/chicagofood had a thing where several restaurant hosted Redditors who applied and gave them a free dinner essentially, it was kind of a lottery system. Bloom was one of them, I got into it, and like the week before it was abruptly cancelled due to a "change in ownership".
I've been avoiding them since this came out personally. The phrasing here also makes me think they're looking for a different space rather than closing completely? Idk seems kinda vague.
Costs have gone up quite a bit for vegan food. Also, with all the MAHA bullshit, people are avoiding vegan foods as many of them do qualify as ultra processed.
Really unsure why this is being downvoted unless some bots are doing it due to my mention of MAHA.
I went there for lunch recently and it was very empty. Only 3 other people eating. I mentioned to my partner that I hope they don't close soon. Here we are...
I do hope they find a new spot. While I don’t adhere to a vegan diet daily, I had a great time dining here and enjoyed the dishes with a friend who follows a vegan diet.
I tried to go there for a dinner date a few weeks ago and it was closed. The web listed then as open and we even had a reservation? Not a good impression.
Got a corn dog down the street as a consolation prize ~

Interesting. Is the main chef guy not the owner?
he is the owner still

Why are all the vegan places closing 😭

What’s MAHA?
Make America Healthy Again.
I mean, I can't even find a whole wheat bun at most places, what are we doing here?
I was not a big fan of the restaurant myself. And it was so pricey. Service was good though I give them that
Their post says they are looking for a new space - sounds like they’re moving. Makes sense given how much rent probably in that area probably is…
recession indicator?
another one?!?
Exactly what I said
Doesn't surprise me. Blooms owner problem : r/chicagoveganBlooms owner problem : r/chicagoveganBlooms owner problem : r/chicagovegan

Good! Bloom did some bad things, so it’s about time.

Me too but the owners have another non vegan restaurant. My guess is they’ll open a second non vegan restaurant in the same spot 🙃

Is it? I don’t get out there much.
Milwaukee by Damen/North is completely dead.
