Its true, unlike cats, nutritional yeast can feel pain, and killing billions of organisms is not ethical.

  • Won't someone please think of the yeasts?!?

    the yeastie beasties 😔

  • Yeah I abide by the Pluribus theory of veganism

  • This is so hard though. The cat sauce I normally use in cooking has yeast as an ingredient. Why do they always have to sneak non vegan ingredients into things that should be vegan?

stay strong friend, this is all about sacrifices

  • Are you telling me I can‘t eat billions of cats? 🤬

no that is fine, I said billions of organisms, cats are not organisms

Vegans don't orgasm anyway! Due to low B12 levels. Must eat the damn cat

  • But yeast is a fungi, which is neither plant nor animal so kinda similar to cats, no?

I think it's ok if the yeast is cat derived, like if the cat you're eating has a yeast infection. Then at least you're still killing a cat, so the yeast died for the greater good.

  • nutritional yeast is completely vegan; it's a deactivated fungus (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) grown on molasses, providing a cheesy, savory flavor and a boost of B vitamins and complete protein. yeast does not feel pain because it's a single-celled fungus, lacking a nervous system, brain, or pain receptors that animals have, so it can't experience sensations like pain or suffering, making it a vegan ingredient.
