Hi! I applied for an eTA since I have a work visa in Canada (extension). The thing is, it's been a couple of hours and I didn't get any email yet. No confirmation of application, no payment confirmation (I can see the charge on my CC). Is that normal or should I reaply?

Background context: I had my vert first Canadian work visa denied, but reapplied and it was approved. I maintain a valid status ever since. I also changed my name as I divorced, but I also explained that on the application.

If you have a valid Canadian visa you don't need an eTA

I had a visa on my passport when I moved, but that expired when I renewed my work permit. Now I just have my valid work permit, but it does not guarantee re-entry.

A visa trumps an eTA. You do not need one, as long as your visa is valid.
