Honestly this kinda stuff is exactly why I think transparency is overrated. It's like nobody learned anything from every terrible thing resulting from Windows Vista's switch to transparent effects in the mid 2000s
Honestly it doesn't use that much gpu and runs pretty smoothly (but to be fair I haven't actually checked how much it uses, but I haven't noticed a huge impact)
Edit: Just checked, my gpu usage went from like 4% to 18%, that's the price to pay I guess
It's Firefox, I don't know what os you are using, might not be entirely possible/easy outside of Linux. But I followed these steps to make Firefox transparent. Then I applied a Kvantum theme called KvGlass. And then I made a css file that you can use with an extension like Stylus to make Google transparent/glassy.
It supposedly works on all regional Google variants (.fr, .de etc) but that's about it unfortunately, it's not dynamic and needs to be done for every different websites. So far I've done Google and YouTube, I plan on making some other websites eventually
"Liquid glass" looks terrible, it's a designer's wet dream and perfectly shows how out of touch they are with actually making something usable sometimes.
But hey, you did a good job making it work even if I think it's terrible.
What I mean by that is that some designers seem to focus on what looks pretty more than actually following best practices, it's those designer's wet dream.
There are designers that actually care about good design too luckily.

I ugly laughed
I also made a high contrast version to avoid that (but it doesn't look as cool)

Did they ever fixed that?
Like, idk, inverted letters relative to the background, adaptative black ink...
your gpu is crying

Eh it looks pretty so whatever. Cool man
LiquidWindowsGlass
What would be the name of that browser? Or how to set that up?

And the background is a shader called Ether.
I use macos. The browser does look cool and thanks for the info
Does it only work on google.com or on any tabs?

It’s a designers wet dream? The fuck it is

Why are people so obsessed with glass effects? Can't we just have a blur without the ugly refractions?
All of that just to use Google
Beautiful
Its so bad, ut also so much better than a flat theme. Oh my god you broke me.
How did you get that moving background?
It's a shader called Ether
A its for KDE, I have MacOS and not linux unfortunately. Looks awesome btw.
\(>o<)ノ
Sick!
are you using linux, the titlebar looks QT, how do you even do that liquid glass thing?
Yes I'm using Fedora (kde plasma), and for the liquid glass I'm using kwin-effects-glass which gives the refraction and blur effect
But why?

I also like transparency :D That's why I switched to Zen browser (firefox based). You can make the UI blurry and animated.
What's with some ppl in this sub and transparent browsers? Dont you like to read the website?
its a nice experiment tho
Why though?
HOW???
Is this google chrome?

Alright thanks!
You're welcome!
linux distro?
It's Fedora (kde plasma)
Pff. Chome🤣 ofc not
Just because you can doesn't mean you should. This is too distracting.
