I do a Google search within Chrome. Click on a google search for what by all appearances is a legit URL (1st or 2nd result). It opens up to the page, then without further action, redirects to this URL with a super shady scam/spam.

What's going on here? A problem with the website, the browser, or my computer?

Could be a not legit url, those appear on the top results sometimes, could be a mitm attack, sometimes ads do this too, really just depends

Whatever the case is, you should uninstall McAfee asap (on Win11, Windows Defender already does a good job at being antivirus) if you haven't done so and download an adblocker on Chrome like AdGuard to protect yourself from sketchy sites. Afraid this isn't the subbreddit you should be answering this question in if you're looking for direct security suggestions.
