The one you have installed is NOT the real uBlock Origin. It might be just an innocent fork but copying a popular software name is usually a scam/malware. Google removed support for Mv2 extensions on Chrome Web Store so only uBlock Origin LITE is a real option from the official developer (gorhill).
Edit: uBlock (from uBlock.org) isn't malware but not as trustworthy since they decided to be "profitable" and track user data, so not a malware but at some point certainly a scam since they claim to prevent tracking. Their shady practices were the reason why uBlock Origin was born open-source from the community.

Ublock origin lite is the version of ublock origin that's compatible with MV3 and modern chromium, plenty capable but slightly less so than the normal one because of restrictions on Chrome's end. It struggles with complex sites like YouTube and can't block individual elements.

Nope, https://ublockorigin.com/ is the original that works for mv2, ublock origin lite is for mv3
