Reporting an issue regarding a certain password manager's support on Brave. Despite setting Proton Pass as my default password manager, Brave does not allow autofill prompts to appear. I’ve tested this extensively:
- Device: OnePlus 12R
- OS: Android 16
- Brave Versions: Latest Nightly and Stable builds
- Password Manager: Proton Pass
In all cases, autofill does not show up within Brave, even though the password manager is correctly set as default in system settings. Other apps recognize the autofill service without issue, so this seems specific to Brave.
Anyone else facing this? Lack of support significantly impacts usability for users like me.
Pixel 9 Pro with Android 16 and no issues for me. I'm running the latest versions of Brave stable and Proton Pass.
Dumb question, but have you restarted your phone?
Haha.. Lots of times... Uninstalled and reinstalled both apps too.. Cleared cache and what not... Nothing worked... In fact I observed similar posts on social media with the same problem highlighted
Using OnePlus 13R. Proton Pass autofill doesn’t work in Brave. I reported it to Proton Pass and they said it’s a browser issue. Brave team said it’s a password manager issue. So i switched to NordPass and surprisingly, its autofill works flawlessly with Brave
Thanks for sharing... It's really sad to have a lifetime account and not be able to use it on Brave 🫠
