My max screen timeout interval is 10 minutes. How do I stop the screen from going dark and the video from stopping if no screen activity for 10 minutes while playing the video?
Netflix, Google Map etc prevent screen timeout, why doesn't Brave?
Edit
These are the options I have under "media" settings. No background play option. Version 1.85.117.
Known bug still not solved: https://github.com/brave/brave-browser/issues/44097
You can use an app called Caffeine to keep your screen on, and enable/disable it from the quick tiles as a work around.
Why not use PipePipe on Android? It supports many sites with little learning curve.
Try turning off background play in settings > media. That's how I fixed it on my tablets.
No such setting under Media for me.
It's second from the top under Media on all three of my Android devices. Strange that it's not on yours.
I've updated my post with a screenshot of the media settings I've got.
It should be right under the Widevine option. I have the same version you do. Try uninstalling the app and reinstalling it
I reinstalled and now I have a blank purple screen with no address bar, no settings, nothing. After repeated restarts and reinstalls.
I'm going back to Chrome.
Opera Browser has background playback too. I believe also Firefox and from what I've heard Vivaldi.
I have this option. Let me check if it'll work or not. I face the same issue while watching movies yesterday.
This bug is awful, I've had the same problem for weeks and they haven't fixed it; sometimes it doesn't happen, but most of the time it does.
I know this is not a solution but if you haven't tried out ReVanced check it once. You can even block shorts (just like Brave) and it has sponsorblock integrated too.
