Furuta Junko was kidnapped, gang-raped and tortured for weeks until she died, by a group of boys. OOP is saying they would enjoy sexually abusing a teenage girl until she dies, because he thinks the shock value will stand where his personality should be.
Because he hates women. Over 30% of men admit they’d commit rape if they were certain there would be no repercussions. And that’s just the ones willing to say it to a stranger.
For people who don't know this story I just want to add this is genuinely the worst case of gendered violence I've heard in my life and I'm not easily shaken. The torture was HORRIFIC and the perpetraters had no remorse. I really don't reccomend reading about it if you struggle with graphic violence. And worse all of many people knew what was happening and didn't stop it, and these boys got light sentences and are out of jail.
And one of those boys' mom went on Junko's grave to curse her for ruining her son's life.
I'll never understand people like this willing to defend their pos family members to the death when they're CLEARLY wrong.
I know firsthand that it's necessary to call out your family, and it's not impossible to simply hold them accountable, especially when it's your own child. I don't have kids yet, but I can't imagine any world where I'd pamper my son after abusing and killing a woman!
Wait till you learn that she was tortured in a boy's bedroom for 40 days with his parents living in the same house, idk if they were scared because yakuzas were involved but they knew damn well what was going on and didn't even try to help her, they could've anonymously tipped the police or something. I don't remember if the cursing mom is the same mom that knew it all from the start but i wouldn't be surprised.
Also I totally agree, in a perfect world people would keep their morals even for things that hit close to home, many crimes would've been prevented or stopped early if that was how most people reacted to things. Maybe it's because of their guilty conscience? Like My son can't be this bad, so it can only be the girl's fault, and I'm not bad either, Me and my family are just victims, they can't internalize the shit.
I can understand the incredulousness if you are totally blindsided and never could predict the event, it's a really complicated position to be in as the family of a criminal and sometimes I do feel bad for them, but it stops when they become so vocal and righteous about it, completely blind to the facts and desperate to become the good guy. Many horrible things are caused by people wanting to be good.
Holy shit??? In the SAME house?? Oh God that's horrific. I totally get people being blindsided by an unexpected event, I really do feel for the family in those cases! But there are some situations where it's pretty obvious a person was messed up and doing horrible things (like those boys) and it's so important for family to hold them accountable and not just be a yes-man to everything they do! I've had to be that way with my own brother, and yeah it sucks but honestly pretending your family is perfect and being willfully ignorant sucks even more :(

They’re in witness protection. Because they got off with a slap on the wrist since they were teenagers. Witness protection or not though, their new identities get leaked online every 2-3 years and then people make their lives miserable.
2 of them are dead, one from natural causes, one from maybe less natural causes. He could have stuffed his own head in that toilet, you never know. The other two will never live normal lives, never hold a steady job, never have a family. If they escaped facing justice, all people can make sure to do is make them regret for as long as they live.
Glad to hear people are upholding their solemn duty to chase these guys out of whatever town they end up in.

It’s so messed up to think that people knew and could have helped her and no one did. Like I would have like to think that once the parents noticed, they’d do something. It must have been so soul crushing for Junko to realize no one was going to help.
They didn't even identify or charge all of the perpetrators (nor did they try to) and that really pisses me off on top of everything else.

You should read The second sex (or Le deuxième sexe in french, I'm not sure of the English title) by Simone De Beauvoir it's one of the founding books of feminism and although some of the scientific knowledge mentioned is now proved false, it's a really important book that explains the misogynistic mindset throughout history. The main idea is basically the dehumanisation of women, men are the humans while women are the others, they are othered by the whole of humanity in slightly different ways throughout history (be it through worship, quasi-slavedom, over-the-top gallantry or straight up hate), Males are humanity, females are the others. I haven't finished reading it, I'm at the last part but I wish I could brand some quotes in my brain, it's a Very objective and throughout in it's retelling and criticisms of the sources and content of misogynistic ideas.
