… it literally means “the cleaning lady”

But it sounds fancy in French.

Well the literal translation of “the housemaid” is “la femme de chambre” but Ménage is a lot more provocative just because of the term “Ménage à Trois”.

Fr. What would you rather have?

    1. “un quart de livre avec du fromage”

    or

    1. “Un royale avec fromage”

I know The Housemaid book went nuts in France, what’s its reputation across the rest of Europe? I know it’s popular across Western Europe but I’m just wondering how popular compared to France?

It's a stupid popular title in Switzerland, and from what I heard, Germany.

Here in France, we know little to nothing about the "problems" with Sweeney, and the book is popular. The film will surpass, towards the end, films like Superman or Fantastic Four, for comparison.

Same for Germany. Nobody cares about some actors’ political views ect.

I'd argue pretty much every one of those controversies means nothing outside the US. Snow White, for example, flopped because most people thought the movie looked awful, no one really knows Rachel Zegler internationally and the majority of people don't care about Gal Gadot's political stances.

Saw the numbers for the UK are solid too. Seems like it is probably a hit in Europe to me.

I tell you guys, American culture wars have no effect abroad. Sydney will be fine. Though one of the Justin Baldoni /it ends with us influencers who is mad at sklenar and fieg is from France.

And yes everything had an effect in attendance. Not as much as make a movie flop like Sydney Sweeney haters say but I hope sklenar gets Batman so James Gunn universe keeps underperforming internationally. Mat reeves already has the best Batman
