It's a general trend. Ever since the pandemic it's been pastels and muted colors and it's f-ing boring. I've been going to print-your-own-shirt to get tshirts in colours other than 50 shades of beige.
My younger roommate is obsessed with this muted beigey everything aesthetic. Its so so boring. Makes me think of like an assisted living facility. She changed her husband's wardrobe to match and whenever they go out they are just two beige blobs lmao.
When I was deeply closeted in high school, my entire wardrobe was intentionally bland and nondescript to avoid drawing attention to myself. Since coming out at 18, I now have one gray and one black work polo, 3 bright red ones, then the rest of my normal wardrobe is bright blues, reds and greens. I will forever associate bland colors with the intention to remain in the background.
Thanks for posting, u/batzkami!
