It’s gotten to the point where there are just too many books out there. I’d much rather take a look at what the bold intellectuals of Reddit have to say.

R*ading is just so tiring and drab, I prefer listening to an academic explain to me in detail how a specific character impacts the complicated universe that my puny brain could never understand than use the mental effort to figure it out myself.

Honestly, I appreciate the optimization.

  • It's very telling that I never know whether there'll be a source link or not.

Grandpa told me there once was a mod that would spam "LINK THE FUCKING LINK YOU FUCKING LINK" on every single topic that didn't include a link in the first message... Good ol' times, apparently.

    I miss those days.

  • I listened to a podcast making fun of romantasy slop while playing Elden Ring and it's basically like I read the whole book in two hours so I'm adding it to goodreads

  • Next level to cutting out reading entirely is to listen to people on booktube talk about reading (Bonus: most booktubers don't actually read the books they talk about!)

  • This is why HSE inspectors shouldn't be allowed to breed. "We'll have none of that using your imagination, keep those neurons under control, are you trying to start a fire? Cells, where is your roster of what's where in case there's a drill? Synapses, no passing in the corridors and no using them without hazardous chemical handling equipment and strictly adhered to routines. Oi you, how many times do I have to warn you about the risk of breaking a limb with these flights of fancy or having your ideas running away near the gene pool!"

Give me whatever drugs you're on that makes you see intellectuals on Reddit. This isn't a request.
