seen at a billie eilish concert about two weeks back

  • El-Bo.

    wait bo is spanish?

    No way Joseph

This is a long shot, but is this a Hamlet 2 reference?

  • Are we certain that’s him? It could be any old elbow

it was posted w the bo burnham tag with phoebe and julien so im assuming

On top of clearly being an elbow belonging to a 7 foot person

OH. I thought the others were sitting down.

That could be the case, but the size difference doesn't appear to be far off from what I'd expect, assuming those women are roughly 5'3"

Yeah this is what i look like standing with my husband lol

    Well 6’6 but yeah.

Edit: a very tall person 😂 I'm 6ft and anyone taller than 6'3" is just a very tall person to me. I like making eye contact with them over top of a crowd.

lol I’m 6’4 I don’t know why but it’s like I don’t realize I’m a big human. So for some reason I like knowing how much taller people are than me. Lol

It's interesting that you still don't feel tall. At six foot even I always assumed I only felt normal sized because I am at the very bottom of what many people consider tall

I guess it’s because it’s all I know. My wife is 5’1 but I’m so used to being around her I forget I’m big. Lol

Question! How's your posture? I'm convinced my bad posture is largely due to having to lean down in order to hear my lady and our daughters.

Posture is great. But I also have two little ones as well. But I don’t lean over. If I need to I go pick them up and bring them to me.

But I’m loud my wife’s loud our kids are loud.

The only quiet one is the 15 year old because she currently hates all of us lol.

Also tho I have no cartridge in three disks in my lower back so I have to lift weights regularly to maintain back muscles to keep the disks from slipping. So that could be part of it too.

Awww did they all go to see Lucy open? Adorable

pretty sure it’s old bo’s old elbow

  • when an artist interacts so little with their fanbase that any sighting of the artist is considered breaking news

This elbow has 301 upvotes so far.

  • I have a sinking feeling we won’t ever get a Bo burnham stand up special ever again after Inside, even something more akin to that seems out of reach

I don’t think he’ll ever do stand-up again. But I could see him doing another comedy show like Inside, after a long while. I think it depends on the state of the world.

I think we'll probably see him work on things from behind the camera, writing and directing, but I'd be surprised if we get any more content with him performing again.

See, that’s fine, I just wish something would actually come out. I want to see more of his writing or directing, but nothing ever comes out. I mean, that’s Hollywood for you, but still ugh.

I think he will for sure be producing some movies/short films in the future

I would love if he made an album instead. No need to tour. I just think he’s so talented and I would love to hear anything he’d make musically

This. He's a musical genius imo I want to hear more 😭

I totally respect what he's going through and has been through and I'm so okay with not getting another special. He's already produced such amazing comedy and are not to mention some great films/productions. I do hope he eventually reaches a point that he's willing to reach out to his fan base in some way. I understand the point of his art and how artists are glamorized and idolized, But there is a reality to a lot of the care and love that a lot of people have for him (And I think it's more about his honesty and openness than silly little laughs for a lot of people). He deserves to be happy in whatever way he finds it though 😊

If he ever tours again, it'll be like trying to get tickets to fuckin sleep token. 😂

If he ever tours again I'll be stocking up for a pandemic

I've always drawn comparisons between Bo and Vessel, so this made me smile (and then my smile dropped as I realized how true this is 🥲)

And we shouldn't ask for one.

Bo made it clear that comedy was destroying his mental health. Once he started to feel like he was doing better, the pandemic hit and he tried again, with Inside, and learned that it still destroys his mental health.

It’s not so much comedy that was destroying him, as it was performing. And with Inside, the whole issue is trying to be funny while in a room by yourself is like a nightmare, mixed with all the feelings we felt in the midst of an unprecedented, worldwide pandemic. It was just insanely bad timing.

Idk that we’ll see him perform again, but maaaan I would kill for another album from him.

I guess you're technically right, but I feel like it was pretty obvious that by "comedy" I meant the comedic performances he was known for.

Obviously I don't think telling jokes is the reason he's depressed

Oh I wasn’t so much critiquing you, as just elaborating on what you were talking about

  • Did he announce he was gonna drop off after inside or did he just kind of disappear

Pretty sure he announced it during inside

"Ive finished playing and im staying inside" "How bout i sit on the couch and i watch you next time" "I promise to never go outside again" "So long, goodbye"

Could have just been for dramatic effect but given his total dissapearance - maybe more litteral this time. Who knows maybe one day he'll get the itch again.

And if all of that wasn't enough, there's also the whole schtick about covering his face and voice on Jerrod's show. I think it's probable that he's financially set for life and just wants to live a peaceful and private life out of the spotlight, and maybe do a directing job behind the scenes here and there like the Kate Berlanti special to scratch his creative itch.

I miss his music and comedy so, so much. And it's really sad to accept that it's over. Especially, as the world keeps getting darker, the more I wish he could be back to lighten it up a little. But yeah, it's best to accept he's done forever.

I get it. I wish him the best. He owes us nothing, but he could have been the next Carlin if he truly wanted to be. Whatever chooses to do, I hope it makes him happy

I made a similar comment. A lot of his comedy touched on the pair of social relationship between fans and performers and that's a very real problem but I hope he does see the core of true care and love from people who saw and received his art the way he always wanted it to be, without putting him on a pedestal or expecting him to keep grinding for us. I just want him to be happy.

You've articulated my exact feelings better than I ever could. I'm going to continue rocking to his songs and all that, but that Bo is dead, and I wish nothing but the best for him and his. God do I wish he'd come back and make more jokes...

I saw that has his depression talking

I think it might just be a hiatus- a lot of artists I've seen might take long breaks cos they well, kinda need it-! But it isn't fully quitting. Eventually he probably will get some idea and come back to the microphone for something.

Oh shit I never took it that way. I became a fan after Inside so I wasn’t super familiar with his whole history and relationship to fame prior to that so I might have missed some things. I mean good for him that’s an amazing position to be in to just be able to chill and enjoy your life after achieving such success especially in this economy lol. But fuck now I’m sad 😭 happy for him though.

the way he very seriously says “i think im done.”

legit i used to think he meant with the special, now… it has a potential double meaning of him quitting altogether.

but i still think he will create, direct, etc.

Ngl I was surprised he even made Inside after the way he ended Make Happy

He achieved his magnum opus, where do you even go after that?

Ok but did he say where he was going or not lmfao😭😭😭

He said it like 7 times in Inside

  • We still love you Bo just wanna tell ya

    !!!

Myself, my bf, friends, best friends, and coworkers (a whole restaurant) are screaming from our speck of dust like a bunch of Who's in agreement

Haha, this is such a cute and lyrical little comment. You made me smile 😊

  • to everyone saying we will never get more art from him: i think that’s a fair assessment and you very well ma be right. however- what i see is that he is an artist. you cannot take that away from him and he cannot take that away from himself. and what i see from artists, true, profound artists, is that the often make claims of retiring or moving on etc, and then cannot help but come back and make more art. i think with enough time, he wont even be able to help himself. he’s a channel for things beautiful, funny, and profound, and you cant block that channel no matter how much it can hurt to express or how much it takes out of you. this is why so so many artists are tragic figures. i think whether he wants it or not, someday we will see more from him because he cannot help but express his gift/curse. just my opinion.

  • I love how this pic came out like 2 weeks ago and only now is here lol

  • Looks like the kind of elbow connected to a hand that wouldn’t fit in a pringles can. So, must be him

  • Being a Bo fan is so difficult to explain to others. Like...what do you mean a glimpse of his elbow will have me walking on air for days, just from knowing he is alive and enjoying life with his girlfriend. Incredibly humbling

  • More content daddy!

  • That's two of my favorite internet people having hot elbows

    you talking about Gianmarco?

…who is the first, if you don’t mind me asking?

  • I really find myself wondering what he thinks of the world today. Some absolutely mind fuckery shit happens everyday, in politics, in music, television, (maybe not movies?) in the world in general, and I’ve wondered what art he would create with it

we have some knowledge of where he is politically. he was seen wearing an artists for ceasefire palestine pin last year and he’s been outspoken against trump back in 2016, and iirc i remember seeing he donated to kamala this last electron

  • Well, well look who’s (not) inside again…

  • Foamy Frank Ocean returns to us. We shall sea.

Its a hard time to be a frank ocean and bo burnahm fan fr 😭🤣

  • i love when this subreddit pops up on my feed bc it reminds me of how incredible Inside was and it’s a perfect representation of the early 2020’s

  • i miss you robert

  • bo a billie eilish concert? pretty cool

  • Holy obsessed. Leave him alone seriously. His fans go against his entire narrative
