ive played elden ring before and have wanted to play bloodborne, now that i have the chance to use my gf playstation i am so stuck. from what i searched i thought i could skip the cleric beast and come back later and went to try the father g. much like you skip the first boss in elden ring. however i did not realize this would bar me from ringing for the father wich is so stupid onn my part. please someone carry me through the cleric beast i only have one mad mans knowledge and have taken every loot possible i am about to be a mad man myself...

  • Dude… if you can’t fight cleric beast you might not survive the rest of the game. You should take a break and try again later. Best advice for these games

you are right (mind you i had help)

    roll into his shid

Agreed. I got frustrated myself. Played some Baldurs Gate and stared BB over again. Ran up to cleric beast with 2 simple ax upgrades and beat him on 1st try. You can do it!

  • Summoning an NPC like Gascoigne increases the boss’s health by 50% per summon, so it makes Cleric Beast fairly tanky for that point in the game. Also because Gascoigne’s summoning point is a ways away from the boss arena he can potentially take a lot of damage before entering the fight, the two of you have to pass a bunch of enemies including two of the hardest non-boss enemies in that area. It is possible to clear that path before summoning, but that’s not usually a good option when you’re just starting and already struggling with blood vials.

  • blood vial healing always heals like 45% of your health so it scales with leveling health. That will carry you until endgame

  • i had help but i did it so wrong (i didnt know how to weapon switch and was stuck using the cane as a whip)

What system you playing on? I been looking for a buddy to do some souls games runs w i got BB and elden ring, DS3, Demons souls, and Nightreign... and iv only beat the base game of Elden ring but do have the DLC lol. Regardless good luck 👍

I wish I had the time and consistency to play with you.

Id be interested i have ds3 and bloodborne on ps5 and ds3 and elden on pc

  • You're gonna have to throw yourself at the cleric beast over and over to get practice in. Elden ring is super lenient compared to bloodborne. Bloodborne rewards and punishes aggressiveness. Being aggressive can give you your health back but too aggressive and you'll end up getting killed. A good tip when fighting the cleric beast is to get behind him. Most of his moves don't reach there. He can do an aoe attack that will hit you but from what I've seen it's not a common attack, he's more likely to jump up and try to put distance between you and him so he can come at you head on. If he does that just circle back around and wait till he swings to hit it once or twice. His big arm can be broken as well so if you can get a few hits on that side you can open him up for a visceral attack. Fire is also really good against him, and beasts in general. Open the fight with some molotovs, or better off you have some oil pots throw one and then throw a molotov... does extra damage.

For father gascoigne, even i struggle with him so I can't really give you and tips to help with that fight except that there is a bug in his ai that you can exploit. I won't go into further detail, if that's an option you wish to try then you can look that up, I'm just making you aware of is existence.

Father Gascoigne, it's just a matter of memorizing the timing of the pistol's retaliation, and for phase 2, there's the music box and Molotov cocktails that can help you.

I just simply can't learn moves, I've stunned him several times but couldn't get in fast enough and couldn't learn the moves to do it again consistently. As far a his second phase he's just way to fast for me. I end up having to abuse his ai in order to beat him. The only other boss I really struggle with is orphan, again way too fast.

Orphan, yes, very fast and with complicated combos

  • i was unable to kill the father to

Don't listen to the guy telling you to farm using the cum dungeon. Just play the game naturally and use that dungeon for subsequent playthroughs to get the build you want

You will eventually kill everyone and everything in your path. Then you will start over and do it again. Just takes practice and patience.

After all, a hunter must hunt.

Can't use that exploit until much later though. He needs to get to the bsb and he can't get past the first boss. He needs to practice right now.

Not sure farming helps too much early game. Might even throw some new players off the game, since it's such a huge grind in the beginning. Best thing to do is look up guides and practice.

  • Elden Ring boss fights are faster and crazier. Also, you have tons of stuff to help you, mimics, buffs etc.

Bloodborne needs you to learn the moves, e.g. dodge INTO attacks. Watch a few videos, and practice. Don't worry about dying.

If you're up for it, practice just dodging. No attacking. To get a feel of how dodging works. Never dodge backwards, never panic dodge, always in the right directions and the right timing.

Cleric beast is fairly easy, predictable moves. Father G is harder, just because he is faster, but you can use exploits. BSB can be parried. In fact is designed to teach you how to parry.

Also forget about losing blood echoes. Also forget about vials. Just get in the arena and dodge. When you die, go again. See how long you can last. I promise you, 5-8 tries and you'll start to sense the moves and patterns.

  • If you cant beat the cleric beast, I have some bad news for you.

  • You can farm echoes and level up your stats in the dream. You can also buy vials to maintain 20. Central Yharnam is bigger than you might expect. Make sure you’re sure you’ve explored it all as you can easy get 10,000 echoes in a run.

As far as beating the Cleric Beast itself goes, I’ve found dodging left to be natural and try dodging into it. Also, you can parry it with the right timing to get a visceral. Maybe lock on and try some molotavs.

  • Definitely take some time to fight the regular enemies and get used to weapon switching, parrying with the gun to get viscerals. I played Elden Ring first then went to Bloodborne, and had to figure out the differences in them.

Take your time with bosses. Just like Elden Ring you will die- just have patience to learn the fight and what works best :)

Cheering for you! I played ER first but Bloodborne is personally my favorite.

THANKYOU!!! i just beat 2 bosses in one life feelings renewed for this game!!!

Well done man, you see, you just have to never give up and persevere.

For me, Bloodborne was my gateway into the Souls series and the FromSoftware universe, and I have to admit that being a hunter in the streets of Yharnam, my favorite, shaped me.

  • Oil and fire Bombs to get his health down then just finish with the saw cleaver try staying under him . Im the same as you Elden ring was my first Souls game and I have multiple characters on NG+++ and I still struggle with Elden Ring lol but Bloodborne I find a lot easier and more enjoyable I guess because it promotes a more aggressive play

  • Thing is Elden ring is a hell of a lot less linear than Bloodbourne. You kind have to take your medicine

  • Ok..here we go.

Whenever you dodge CB's attacks, dodge towards/under them. Your I-frames will help you get through unscathed and you'll usually be closer to him/in a better position to attack. He has a harder time hitting you if you're somewhat behind him.

Remember that you can rally/regain HP. If he lands a hit and he's not going to hit you again, you can opt to attack to gain your HP back instead of using a vial. Don't get too greedy though.

Enough damage to his arms will temporarily "break" them, giving you time to whale on him for a bit more. Enough damage to his face will open him up for a visceral at the head. You can still opt to smack his butt instead though.

The untransformed Saw Cleaver, both forms of the Saw Spear, and the whip of the Threaded Cane all have a hidden serrated damage bonus, which does 20% extra damage to beasts. While you aren't required to use these weapons, it's worth some consideration.

If you have spare Molotovs, he's weak to fire so you can chuck them when he's low to secure your victory.

Keep in mind that a summon (NPC or player) will give bosses more HP.

It may help to do some no-healing practice runs where you focus on learning CB's moveset without wasting consumables.

  • Hit him in the back every chance u get and watch for his poison attacks.Fire is ur friend and play aggressively to the point u do the bullying

  • I feel you 😂 i put away the game for 2 years because i couldnt beat it 🙈 started playing again and somehow beat him. But i found the other bosses way easier☝🏻😅

Oh really, Father Gascoigne right after you made things less difficult!? 🤔

For gasciogne just use the stairs and hunters axe hack if you are struggling. Or dodge and shoot. Im not saying i finished the bosses on the first try. But certainly they were easier than the first one

No, I'm fine, I've already finished the game several times now and I'm doing just fine with it. It's just that the first time I played, the clerical beast didn't give me any trouble at all, but Father Gascoigne really put me to sleep right after. It's funny how we don't all have the same difficulties with the same game.

  • He’s so crazy tanky for a starting boss. I wish they cut his HP by 25%. You’ll get there. Especially if you have the saw. Use it in short range mode.

  • It's just about you learn the boss movements before, you can try fire with him, you got it

  • As I've found with most of these bosses, the big type & apart from Father Gascoigne, spoiler alert , music box ? ,you stay close & get underneath, & behind them,  rolling towards if they attack seems to stop it connecting, Cleric beast don't like fire so farm some coin & buy molotov, As I found later too certain bosses body parts, legs etc are vulnerable & brings them temporarily down for some powerful slower hits, good luck newbie Hunter, enjoy

  • Best recommendations for beasts - their teeth and claws are at their front - get behind them when they can't hit you.

    Secondly, they're weak to fire.

  • someone has helped me im just really bad at video games

All good you’ll get there we’ve all been there before just enjoy the game Bloodborne is super fun
