Started the game a while ago then it wasn’t for me and left and played Elden Ring which I loved and beat the game including malenia. Tried to come back to bloodborne and beat the one reborn but now in the area after I’m just getting destroyed like 2 hit and no damage I’m completely out of vials of course and I just am done with it again.

I really want to play it bc I feel like I can beat it now that I beat Elden Ring but I’m just not enjoying it the same way. Could it be bc my vitality is at 26 and strength at 25 (is this low for bloodborne at this point?) idk I just need something to give me hope to play it bc I think the setting and lore and everything is super cool but it’s not giving me enjoyment like Elden Ring and I know the soulsborne games are different but still.

Should I restart my playthrough and build better or tough it out/get good?

  • Soft cap for V is 50. First soft tap the breaks for damage stats skill and str is 25 then 50 for the real practical cap. Visceral damage is linked to skill.

Make sure you boost the weapon level of your chosen weapon. And do at least the early chalices and maybe farm some winter lanterns if you need to for better physical gems. Generally don't mix fire bolt arcane gems and physical as they over-write physical.

So use the saw spear instead of the cleaver as it is a smidge better with skill and is serrated in both normal and trick form unlike the cleaver.

Or go with LHB and go for quality

Throw a bit of stamina in too about 15 to 25 is enough. Usually closer to 15.

Ok thanks I’ll have to give it another try with a more calculated build

  • Even though they're both FromSoftware games, don't compare Elden Ring to Bloodborne; they're completely different. Sekiro is also very different. They constantly try to improve and innovate, never ceasing to surprise us. Perhaps you enjoyed Elden Ring more because it's an open world, and when you hit a difficulty spike, you can explore other areas and come back much stronger—something that's much more limited in Bloodborne.

  • Restart and 50 vit asap

  • I would restart if I was you. It's not that your build is unplayable but bloodborne is less about strength and skill because of the gem fortifications you can use are where you get your extra damage. It's more powerful than scaling. There are also fewer weapons in bloodborne and they require less stat investment for the most part. I level health early and round out my build later. The saw cleaver does the job well enough with no Stat investment

Yeah when I started I had never played a souls game and had no idea what I was doing lol so I was just throwing points into everything

  • 26 is too low for vitality, I think 40 is the soft cap

    I believe it 50 or 60.
