Playing BB for the first time, and as a huge fromsoft fan who has played EVERYTHING except BB, i am very excited. Buut, as i somehow went years and years without having much spoiled to me about the game, i dont want to plan a build and just wanna play to see where i go from there. But not having respec is kinda scary in that regard. Any spoiler free tips for a freeflow first playthrough regarding stats?

  • Strength endurance and vitality are the meat, potatoes, and idk butter? They’re just like the “idk what I’m doing but it’s working” stats. Don’t worry about trying to force urself to find/use new weapons. If what ur using works, use it. Every weapon is viable to beat the game with(which gives u flexibility with ur stats as it tells u exactly which stats scale with ur weapon)

  • Keep trying I died a fuck ton. But eventually the combat starts to stick, aggression is rewarded via the rally system which can save your ass. Try to separate groups of enemies, and using summons increases the bosses HP some the distraction provided by the summon is worth it others it just makes the boss fight harder. Fear the old blood..

  • You will definitely replay once you finish (whether as ng+ or a new character) so don't worry about not doing everything right on your first play.

Pick strength or skill (dex) and run with that as your core. Do the other on the next character. Trying to keep them balanced will hinder more than anything

    And be aggressive 👍

  • I don’t know if this would help a lot but blunderbust gun is good for stunning the beginning enemies and shooting dogs will knock them to the floor. Carry weight isn’t a thing in this game so you can wear any attire/ and hold any weapon without having to worry about mid/fat rolling. But if you don’t have the stats for the weapon, you can’t use it unlike darksouls and eldenring.

Good luck good hunter on your hunt 😎👍

  • No block....only dodge!

  • BB was my first introduction into the Soulsborne series. i highly recommend playing your first playthrough blind to soak it all in. also get the DLC

    L1 L1 L1 L1 L1 L1 L1 L1 L1 L1 L1 L1 L1 L1 L1 L1 L1 L1

  • Don't give up in the beginning because you'll love the pure beauty of everything else that follows

  • Just keep a look/manage blood vials as some new users might find it frustrating to buy it for blood echoes or to farm them intially

  • Bloodborne has the "Rally" system that it does not teach you well. If you take damage you can regain a portion of that by attacking. it promotes agressive playstyle, and with your gun as a sidearm you'll generally always have equipped you can parry easily. Get in there, stay in there, be agressive!

  • Learn the parry mechanic. It's the most satisfying of all the fromsoft titles. Who needs a shield when you got the blicky!

  • Fear the old blood.

  • You get three weapons when you start, if you don't want things to get extra difficult (you'll get plenty of that anyway) personally I would avoid the cane, even though it looks really nice.

As a general note on raid-bosses, if you don't want to freestyle it and die like.. 50 times, go in, learn it's mechanics (aka learn to stay alive) and only then start killing (extra note, some raids have a second phase <3 ).

May the good blood guide your way!

  • Dont hit Eileen! I remember making her angry my first playthrough because of how scared I was
