I don't understand why exes cannot still be friends with each other after divorce. I mean unless their was abuse, affairs, or just some fucked up shit in the marriage, at one point you two loved each other and/or produced a child(ren) together.
Um being divorced is a broken home sir. Doing a couple of dances and jigs isn't making up for that...imagine the sign that tells your children...your father/mother and the type of person they were wasn't enough to stay in the long haul for.
But yeah, props to them passing the "vibe test" and helping others feel better about their "unconventional" relationships.
When are we gonna give this shit up? Traditional families are fully capable of being leagues more fucked up than a split home. My parents shoulda never been together in the first place, and I'm better because they split.
There's not just one single proper way to do it, that's the point. The people involved are the important part, not the set up. Saying there's only one way to be is crazy. That's how oppressors think.
People meet young and sometimes in facing the immense trials of life, fall out. If they find their way back to a joyous friendship because of the interest of their children as well as their personal connection - one devoid of the intensity that living together brings, it can still be a happy family.Ā
Would you call a home where the parents never divorced but there has been constant infidelity/emotional abuse 'broken'?Ā
Um sir...the scenario you want me to focus on doesn't apply to the divorced individuals you're praising. Cause aint no way you be passing the " black vibe test" after years of being "abused".
So let's focus on the individuals that this thread is based on and not spin off to other things.
So, your point about being young and falling out...is a terrible terrible excuse to break apart a family lmaooo. If you're willing to have fun with the other in "interest" of the kids...why not stay together? Once again, I doubt the individuals doing their jigs, dances, and having fun with each other spent years of abusing each other....so why did they fall out and couldn't stay strong and show their children how a man and woman can stay together through their hardships.
It's cool that they at least on the surface (in a couple of short clips at least) seem to not be bitter towards each other even though their marriage didn't work out.
Even though divorce does often have negative ramifications on the children involved, it's still important to model and display mature and respectful behavior towards each other, as an example of how to treat relationships that didn't work for whatever reason, but still have to be at least on speaking terms due to shared children.
I see two adults who've embraced an often painful journey of healing from the past. Their energy is light and free and confirms that at this point, no bad blood remains between them, just the joy of embracing life as it is š„ŗ
This is not something we should be celebrating, promoting, or āhyping upā. To call this āblack vibesā is just another reason why this community is so damagedā¦š¤¦š½āāļø
Do you find something disrespectful about my statement? I find it quite beautiful that two people can still physically vibe after recognizing they arenāt life partners.
Yeah, when youāre talking about peopleās parents, thereās a way to speak, and not regarding them
āfxckingā, or doing so even when divorced. Thatās my personal opinion. Itās not necessary.
Really confused what "with the black vibes" means? My dad is twice divorced hasn't spoken to my mother since my college graduation in 2012 and pretty sure owes his 2nd wife child support. That's just skimming the top of issues.
Does black vibes mean yall dance together?
Do you have divorced parents? Wouldn't speak on this topic if you haven't been through it honestly.
Facts, letās also forget all the trauma divorce and broken homes cause black children and the scars that never heal from it while weāre at it. As long as theres a 45 second clip of āvibesā years later everythingās fine.broken homes mean nothing⦠my parents are chill now too. Doesnāt change what happened and how terrible it was for me and my siblings
You are welcome to have your opinion, but do not police me based on your relatively juvenile, antiquated, puritanical morals.
If seeing people using ādirtyā words to comment on anonymous strangers posted by anonymous strangers offends your delicate sensibilities then the internet may be too grown for you.
If your parents are featured in this clip then they seem lovely and Iām happy for them. (And they may still be fucking⦠shhh, donāt tell anyone)
It's funny that you mentioned that. I was at the barbershop a few days ago, and one of the guys I know who goes there said his girlfriend left him for his friend.
It's good that exes can still be cool with each other instead of hating each other's guts.
Absolutely!
I don't understand why exes cannot still be friends with each other after divorce. I mean unless their was abuse, affairs, or just some fucked up shit in the marriage, at one point you two loved each other and/or produced a child(ren) together.
They are about to wine coolers away from smashing.
So what are you trying to say here?
š¤š¾
That people try and pigeonhole, but families have their own flavour and dynamics - no matter how they appear on paper.Ā
"Broken home" is a ridiculous term - does this dynamic here appear broken or dysfunctional to you?Ā Ā

This. āBroken homeā is such a weirdly moralistic way to talk about this kinda stuff.
Exactly! It's so much more complicated than that.
š«©
I guess i noted that traditional families are prefect? Also, is your situation the norm for traditional families?
So many black folks go on and on about the importance of a proper environment for raising up our future but balks when its truly time to be about it
There's not just one single proper way to do it, that's the point. The people involved are the important part, not the set up. Saying there's only one way to be is crazy. That's how oppressors think.
Facts facts FACTS
Yea Iām saying. I donāt understand the point of being divorced if youāre gonna be doing all this .
Plenty of ppl have great times together and canāt do life together.
You couldnāt have fun with an ex just bc yall aināt together?
Is everybody on this sub 19?
Being friends with exes does not make you mature. Letās end that right now.
In all honesty I find it more immature. Especially considering youāre in other relationships.
Got it, youāre a child,
This mindset only popular on Reddit. Performative bsĀ
enjoy, sport!
Aye, hope your wife has a great time at her exes spot tonight Mr mature
Exactly. If you can still be "vibing" like that.. why are you separated? Why are you putting your children through that mess?
Because a relationship isnāt solely about vibing or enjoying someoneās company?
You can dig someone and not want to run a household or family with them
But i also think this whole convo shows how little imagination/empathy yall have
There are so many reasons people break up that aināt about cheating or ill will

Just enjoy the video and if you're against any type of divorce, don't do it.Ā
I can't answer for them. I'm happy that whatever happened, they found a way that focused on joy.Ā
So you just praising things to praise them. š«©
Have a good one sir.
I donāt fully agree with the other comment but at the same time you should understand why they split so you can avoid the same situationĀ
This is hella ignorant lmao
It's not OC, might not even be accurate.
It's cool that they at least on the surface (in a couple of short clips at least) seem to not be bitter towards each other even though their marriage didn't work out.

She doesn't realize they were doing this shit the night she was conceived
Sometimes, the best way to have a friend for life is to divorce.
I see no problems here. I had some of the best times with ex, we just couldn't live together.
I see two adults who've embraced an often painful journey of healing from the past. Their energy is light and free and confirms that at this point, no bad blood remains between them, just the joy of embracing life as it is š„ŗ

What are you talking about? Do you see the kind of posts I've been making for years...
Are some of you on the spectrum? It's like you literally believe this is saying divorce is the goal. Which is so weird to me.
It's saying, that for any family - peace, joy and respect is always the ideal, regardless of whether the relationship worked out or not.Ā
Alternative title: āHow to know your parents canāt live together but they still fuck at least once, twice a yearā
Right because everything comes down to sex - and not years of having grown together.Ā
Thatās an amazingly reductive and cynical response to my celebration of finding joy while overcoming past relationship issues.
Be respectful.
Do you find something disrespectful about my statement? I find it quite beautiful that two people can still physically vibe after recognizing they arenāt life partners.

I donāt get it. Because theyāre dancing this means broken homes are a good thing?
Yes exactly, this video is encouraging everybody to divorce.Ā
Your words not mine š¤·š¾āāļø

This would be a really great clip if they ever end up on Dateline.
