I am 53 years old. In my lifetime we have NEVER had even a decent republican president. Richard (tricky dick) was a crook. Gerald ford was at best, Mediocre. Ronald The Devil was the ABSOLUTE WORST president ever until bush jr. I’ll get to jr later. Bush sr was such a piece of shit that even racist whites hated him so much they voted for a democrat, making him a lame duck. Bush jr was Absolutely HORRIFIC but, he was ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS. Tronald Dump will go down as the ABSOLUTE WORST IN HISTORY. That’s very telling.
Edit: Not only have All republican presidents been horrific, they ALL, with the exception of Ford, either committed ELECTION FRAUD or, Treason to get into office. Literally Not One of them were elected Fair and Square. Nixon committed an act of treason with Vietnam. Reagan was an absolute Idiot but, it was bush sr, the former Director of the cia, committed both election fraud and treason to get himself and, Ronnie the devil elected. Bush jr. absolutely Lost to Al Gore. Tronald dump’s 1st time around was a little more complex because of Clinton. But it is understood there was indeed interference in that election. This last election was definitely the messiest one in my lifetime. Years from now there will be college courses and, many books written on how messed up the last election was.
Post WWII republicans are the party of white inferiority complex and corporate shills. It's a dangerous mix
"I don't want to see the Republican Party ride to political victory on the Four Horsemen of Calumny – Fear, Ignorance, Bigotry, and Smear." - Margaret Chase Smith (Republican from Maine) said in her Declaration of Conscience speech in 1950
Her worst nightmare came true within a decade when Tricky Dick Nixon ran against JFK in 1960. His Southern Strategy 1.0 paved the way for Goldwater in 1964 and Nixon's Southern Strategy 2.0 in 1968.
Wow, is like she formed trump with that one incantation
She was talking about Joseph McCarthy (a la McCarthyism you learned in your high school/college history class). The guy who destroyed people he didn't like with dangerous lies and innuendos.
A terrible human being similar to Trump in many ways.
I'm just glad theirs middle age Black men on here like me.
Not middle aged but I’m glad y’all are here too

Not you trying this man by calling him “senior”😭
Lol. My guy is 53, not 73.
Technically he was alive for Ford buuuuut he was an infant. Of the presidents he ran off he woulda only been aware of Regan, Bush Sr, Dubya, and Trump
Yeah they were bad, but I’m trying to rationalize your metric for determining good and bad. I tend to measure this through the ways presidents have impacted my community specifically.
From this context, it doesn’t matter rather it was a democrat or republican president they’ve all been terrible. I distinctly recall people from your generation calling Bill Clinton the first “Black” president, despite him using his political clout to reinforce the political agenda of Regan.
I was born into a Bush Sr. administration and can say with full confidence that not a single president has made a meaningful contribution to my political, economic, or social wellbeing. Trump is no different than Bush, and Bush was no different than his father.
I’ve paid attention to the presidential elections, because that was what I was raised to do. But as I get older and start to pay attention to what my generation, your generation, and the generation that has come before you have been doing. Im starting to seriously question why we’ve been neglecting politics at the local and state level?
I’m mindful that not all of us live in liberal predominately Black states that always give us the autonomy we desire. At the same time, I shouldn’t have had to endure physical, emotional, and psychological abuse in a school district that was majority Black, yet ran by nothing but white racist people in a state like Alabama, that’s 30% Black.
It's always good to run into others (especially younger brothers) who understand the importance of focusing on state / local politics. The state has so much more impact on our lives than the federal government. State courts adjudicate over 99% of court cases in this country. State legislatures control lawmaking, funding, taxation, and provide oversight of the state judiciary & executive branches. In some states, the legislature is charge of selecting other state officials (judges in VA & SC are selected by the legislature) The executive branch (governor & other officials such as AG, Secretary of State, etc.) has numerous powers in additional to enforcing the laws.
All that to say, we should be hyper-focused on becoming the voter majority in at least one state. We have the population to control five to seven through strategic relocation. As for POTUS, people often overlook the fact that the states are the ones who actually elect the person to that office. With actual electoral votes at our disposal, we'd have more ability to influence the platforms of candidates running and to determine who actually wins the election. Plus, we'd have the federal representation accorded by the U.S. Constitution in both chambers of the Congress who would be pushing our agenda and needs.
I applaud your vision and thought process. I hope you continue to share this with those around you and take up the mantle of running for office or working on behalf of someone who will legislate, judge, and/or enforce the laws in our best interests.
The Book of the States - 2021 Ed. from Council on State Governments details how the various states governments are configured and operate.

You are correct! When I encounter younger Brothas I always Teach them that your Local JUDGE, Sheriff, Coroner, Prosecutor, Are ALL ELECTED OFFICIALS. Most people don’t even know who these people are which means, they didn’t Vote! These folks DIRECTLY INFLUENCE YOUR LIFE AND YOUR CHILDREN.
I respect your opinion. When I was coming up. Black people TOOK CARE OF OUR OWN. EVERY SINGLE MOVEMENT that was effective, started IN THE COMMUNITY. ALL of these presidents I mentioned used BLACK TAX PAYER DOLLARS to Fund GOVERNMENT OPERATIONS TO HARM AND DESTROY THE BLACK COMMUNITY. So in context, you brought up things that would require many many days months and years to unpack and address because of the Decades of White Lies and Evil deeds. I’m always up for breaking down the details but, unfortunately online is not a forum to effectively discuss complex topics.
Because of the Republican Party’s reaction to Obama I don’t see them getting any votes from me in my lifetime.
Totally agreed, but also want to add that they've been a problematic collective even Wayyyy before Pres Obama was elected!
I agree
Trump will not go down in history as the worst. They will wrap Trump in eternal fake praise.
I mean, this is the same country that vilified (and still does) President Carter, who by all accounts was a good person.
Trump represents the America the majority of voting whites want, why do you think he got so many votes?
As a country we can’t even stand up against praise still lauded on confederacy. Those men & women who fought to uphold an institution of savage oppression, have people & organizations keeping those names, culture, & statues as part of current American culture. Putting their names in buildings, parks, holidays, etc.
His foot stools will eventually die and the historians will judge him. It’ll seem like a fever dream for those who analyze this time period.
Salute 🫡 Blackman great observation ✊🏿
I disagree that trump is the worst I think bush jr was way worse than trump in my opinion.
Great to see the perspectives and points of all the brothas on this thread, just want to add that anytime I see mention of "worst presidents ever", we can't ever leave out or forget the presidents that literally upheld the institution of enslaving Black people in the united states, jus sayin...
Well this is a surprise considering how many older black men supported Trump.
This is where I struggle with this sub. Everyone seems to not trust yt, but then they act like democrats are somehow so much better than republicans. Last time I checked, republicans aren’t moving into Chicago and pushing natives mainly poor blacks out, due to rising property tax. It’s like some of yall have blinders on💆🏾♂️💆🏾♂️.
I think historically, Dems have been seen as "more progressive" and etc by previous generations of Black folks, but as time goes on, more Black folks (especially amongst the younger generations) are looking at Dems with a more critical eye, which is both necessary and also good to see. Dems definitely have a LOT of their own BS against Black folks, just as obviously the repubs do.
