I'm curious about if there are more people who plays meta class in pve or plays a class in pve that they like even though it's not the best. I know that playing something you like is better but this sometimes gets skewed when you see a class that you like underperforming.
Don’t chase meta, you’re gonna grind a long time, the point is to enjoy and like what you’re looking at while you grind
so true but i sometimes get discouraged when i see my class underperforming but i like what im doing so i just keep doing it
For me, better to have whatever you’re playing underperform but enjoy your time with it rather than hate it but perform better
If you're a ninja use succ in pve
I guess “underperform” could mean a lot of things here. Grinding on Succ Ninja feels great imo, but lying on the floor in node wars isn’t nearly as fun ^
My main is the class I enjoy, I tag a new class to check it out for a few days, then retag my awa guardian because if I gotta grind I want to turn my brain off.
Succ woosa. Used to be a lot better (compared to other classes) than now, but I enjoy grinding with her so it is the best class for me.
Why? If i can (and am willing to) grind 100 hours with her compared to 50 hours with the best class in same amount of time, even if I made half of what I could with the best class per hour, that would still end up being equal profits in the long run.
Heck, even if I would make (slightly) less in the long run, I value my enjoyment more than higher profits. The second I stop enjoying I stop doing it. If I stop enjoying playing this game, I stop playing this game.
It should be that easy, but I see (and know) too many players who burn out by chasing something when they dont enjoy it. And thats what games for most should be; to enjoy and have fun.
Meta? I've always chosen the class based on aesthetics and vibe! Have been playing Musa for a long time as the main class because "samurai sword goes slash" and now have created a new Woosa character, very different in play style from what I'm used to, but just summoning scriptures, vines, and weather attacks is so aesthetically pleasing
Awakening Ninja is the only true samurai.
Although I wish there would be a sword fighting class with a skill mix of musa, ninja and especially succ dosa.
Succ Dosas Shift+E just has so much style
imo they blew it with succ dosa, looks more like a conjurer than a swordsman.
He does have a few nice sword skills, but yeah. Shift + Q, Shift + C, Shift + F are all too much conjuring and not enough actual swordfighter.
Yeah yeah I know it fits his lore, but nobody cares about lore. We want cool classes
Succ Ninja right now.
I am an awakening ninja main in PvP and I don’t grind that much anymore.
So grinding some agris hours here and there don’t feel too tiring and even enjoyable just zapping around.
It being an S+ Tier Class that pulls great numbers makes it feel even better.
Although I have to say that I wouldn’t play it if it weren’t exceptional.
i main awakening ninja and do play succ for pve but i just kinda dont like it so i just stick to awk even tho i pull a lot more on succ
Yeah I know that feeling.
Tried a few times to make him work because of his aura.
But the performance comparison is so stark.
Sucession performs way better at zephyros although Iam missing two enhancement levels compared to awakening.
Huge feelsbadman.
The only thing awakening got going for itself are protections, a lot of FGs and almost every other Skill SA.
I’m in the opposite situation - trying to learn awakening, but still being at a stage where I need to grind for gear. I love grinding on succ ninja, but I feel like it would take me ages to learn awk if I didn’t grind on it as well.
I understand that struggle.
But I think you are doing the right thing trying to get to know awakening in a PVE situation before learning him for PvP.
Just prepare yourself later on to get rid of a few bad habits which you inevitably will get into while grinding.
Or rather: Try to already practice a few PvP habits while grinding. Like D+C weapon swap to pre awak, Magnus (via hotkey from awakening) into Stomp, using Chaos Spree 50% BSR, weapon swapping from pre awakening to awakening via S+RMB (hotbarable) and cancelling the animation with ghost step or space into silent charge.
Man fuck Iam a ninja nerd
I used to, but since the 95% cap and the "tower-like-spawn"-limit I go with the class I like the most. The difference is around 5% to 10% and if the chance to upgrade is 1%, there is no real argument anymore for me. I seen people get it in 10 clicks or less or needed 250+. And most of the other upgrades are weekly-gated or just "fun"-stuff.
yea lol i kinda miss grindspots when it had different types of pulling and what not but it was so sweaty and everyone was funneled to one class: succ striker
I don't follow the meta that closely, because I can't see myself playing a class I don't enjoy in this game. And I like my Awk Witch and Awk Guardian. I like zero brain cell classes with a bit of flash to their skills.
Luckily for you, awk witch and awk guardian are both meta.
I play awaken sage since his release, always loved the class. He was op at launch, got nerfed to dogshit (even nerfed during the major class rework), and now he's buffed to be one of the best again. Been with him through lows and highs.
Awake woosa is my tag that I play in spots like doluns where you can just chill with low apm combos. Played her since her release too.
That's why The Marni link copy gear system exists, so yes, only easy and strong class in PvE and whatever class I want in pvp.
I don't chase meta, I play the class I enjoy the most, because it is more profitable.
I may be able to make more money on a meta class in an hour, but if I don't like playing it, I'll most likely stop after an hour for good, IF I even have the motivation to start grinding on the first place.
With a class I enjoy? I could go for long hours and don't feel pressured as if grinding would be a 'job' and not a way to enjoy my free time.
No, I've been playing Guardian for 5+ years and don't plan on switching. Luckily, she's always been an alright class.
I play succ zerk cuz it’s easy and not horrible in pve. I tend to be right at or right below the garmoth number. I’m considering a more meta class just cuz I have played zero for 400 hours not because it’s more meta
Been on my Ninja for the past 9 years. You can try playing other classes every now and then, but you can never truly quit Ninja.
haha thats true
I play Tamer since 2016
Always and forever, awake maewha.
Personally, I play what feels the best to play. Do I like the combos, the graphics, the flow, etc., AKA what you find "fun". Because in the end, this is a game meant to be enjoyed. This is why I also understand why people chase the meta. What's fun for them is getting the most billion per hour, getting the best gear, optimizing everything. So find what you find fun and just do it.
Always been a Awk zerker but swapped to Dosa awakening so my hands dont commit suicide. Neither of them are very op. A comfortable grinder for you is the best class IMO. Gonna try awak sage for pvp since he seems fun, or deadeye
Been playing Musa since his release and don’t plan on maining anyone else anytime soon.
I am playing my awakening lahn since her release
Self-punishing with valk succ ever since I started playing bdo in March 2021, but I do enjoy doing my combos but that could be also stockholm syndrome, who knows 😅
I check out the meta whenever returning from a break. I’ll try tagging different classes, but always go back to Witch. I enjoy the chillness of awakening, and succ is nice when I get bored. Just lucky she’s been a top grinder.
you have the ninja flair and that class is super meta.
have you tried playing awakening ninja in pve :)
yeah its great
i wish
i mean it is factually great. might just not be great for you. but if you truly like the class youll get better over the thousands of hours youll be grinding.
you can ask any ninja awakening mains about its pve and they’ll be confused cause no one plays it mainly for pve
Because on the meta class, you'll spend a couple of thousand hours less on gear up, it's simple math.
If you're just enjoying the game, then you probably don't care who you farm on, but my goal is to maximize my gear (as much as possible without piloting an account and P2W)
Yes, I like succ ranger, but I'm not willing to suffer for 3-4k hours due to the incompetence of the people responsible for the balance. So I'll farm on what works.
this dude know things (also went to burnout)
I always just play woosa
Idk about meta or not cause im new but Awk Dosa is super fun to me. I love speedster ish characters and he has outgoing buffs for the team which is all I wanted in a character. I know he gets compared to Avatars due to the elements, but he strikes me as a Naruto character as he has a lot of Minato like moves. It’s funny cause people will criticize me in solare (before the game even starts) that I should be on Succ Dosa cause it’s better but I literally don’t care because elemental aesthetic is just too cool compared to the clouds (and i get to at least have the aesthetic of succ dosa with worse skills but meh). Then there are others who are like “why are you playing meta”, “you have no skill”, “of course you’re on an easy class”. Idk why people feel so validated when they don’t get paid to play this game just like me, but these people are depressed imo lol
No, I play classes I find fun.
As Shai main im as far away from the meta for solo grinding as possible x)
I love Deadeye but it just sucks so bad for PVE , i don't even want to play her again but i'm forced to because i bought alot of weight
Fuck Meta playing warrior since beta
No. I play what’s fun. I’ve been stuck on succ hash as a “main” for years. I also play succ warrior and mystic.
The meta is a lie. The cake is a lie. It's all a lie!
I choose visuals over meta. I've played Booksa while she was crap and still play her now. Though now that my greatsword paladin class is out I'm preparing to switch mains over to Seraph.
Awk Lahn - shes never been great at PVE but I like her buttons and combos are second nature now so I just keep at it. I will try out new classes on Tag every once in awhile but the majority of the time its just for fun and I don't do much on them. Seraph is tagged right now, and I'm actually enjoying it a lot, her buttons are very similar and she prolly pulls more trash but I mostly just use her at treasure spots and stuff so I'm not too worried about efficiency
