Just wanted to share some pics of our Lynette (although she's not very photogenic lol) because she's the best so far!

This baby spent almost a year at the shelter before we brought her home, and we were told she can be very shy and will take a long time to warm up, but she's been adapting really well, she surprised all of us! I was legit thinking she'd be hiding for at least a week straight and having stress diarrhea and refusing to eat, but she already came out of hiding by the end of her 1st day here on her own, and let me pet her a bit, ate well, took treats, used the litterbox nicely by the 2nd day... She did so good!

Since then she's been opening up more and more, and by now she consistently comes out for me when called and purrs loudly when we pet her. And she LOVES her food, you can basically always bribe her with some treats... She also loves just lounging on the carpet with us and has no issue grooming near us or using the litterbox in front of us (she also loves to dig for like 2-3 minutes after lol), and she also accepts belly pets. And she basically already did all this by day 2 already, I was shocked! She's still wary of sudden/loud noises or movements but she really just chose to speedrun the initial super shy hiding phase and started trusting us...🥹

It's been such an awesome experience as a first time cat owner and I'm so glad we could adopt, it's obvious how much she'll thrive in a stable loving home compared to a shelter (although she was definitely loved there too). I just really hope that the other two cats we could've potentially chosen find their homes soon too, they've also been there for nearly a year and they're both so lovely as well💔 Visiting a shelter too often really just makes you want to take every single cat home, doesn't it... But still, it's a nice feeling that we were able to provide at least one cat with a nice warm home where she'll get plenty of love and pets!
