Nice! Ordered a custom tailored one a month ago, should get it sometime in January. The gi is great, I had people asking me if my gi was brand new even after using it exclusively for 2 years. Old one still looks great just the sleeves shrunk a bit too much.
I visited their shop recently and wanted the custom black gi but they weren‘t taking any orders atm. That was one of the nicest feeling BJJ gi‘s i’ve seen.
I just picked up a Keiko as I wanted a Made in Brazil all cotton GI in my rotation also. I just happened to get that one in sale before I could find an Isami sale (if that even ever happens).
BJJHQ has an older model Isami available briefly during the last super sale. Older BJJ Gi that had the diamond weave skirt like a Judo Gi. That one would be cool to own.
I’ve bought and used three Isami gis for years, absolutely my favorite brand of gi. Zero complaints. Japanese textiles are nearly as good as their blades.
Yeah, in Japan it's mostly seen as the brand first timers cop because it's the only brand available in a walk-in store. All the other brands are online only. The custom belts are definitely popular though.
Honestly bro, it's mostly just ITAMI and BULLTERRIER (which I think is owned by Japanese Brazilians). I mean I'm biased because I run Scramble here. But also I support local brands and no one is really pushing a local brand or marketing here at all.
They don’t offer an A5 size — I’ve noticed that a lot of high-quality gi brands don’t carry A5 at all.
Does anyone have a good recommendation for a brand that does? Thanks!

For sure! Mine’s 3 years old now and it’s the only gi I use, still not a single stitch out of place.

owned a few Isami over the years- great quality and comfort- only they shrink a lot. Love my custom Isami black belt :)

I was in japan . I went into the store to look at them and reallg like this blue one.. Takes about 2-4 months to get it.

How’s the fit ? A few years back I read that they fit fairly baggy, wondering if that’s changed ?
A lil big but they told me it will shirk a bit so it should fit better after a wash.
