I used to live in a rural area with a decent backyard/wooded area behind the house. I spread seed and random treats to watch the birds while I washed dishes.

Everyone got along; the crows, the robins, the cardinals, the little fat borb guys I can’t recall their name. Then the blue jays show up, dive bombing and scaring everyone off. They were the only ones that caused trouble

Blue jays are almost at the top of the pecking order in my yard too. The only thing they don’t mess with are the woodpeckers. They swoop in at the bird feeder and everything scatters.

These are not bluebirds though, but rather Blue Jays! Their cousins the scrub jays are kind of jerks at times too 😆

Damn. Well, it’s a hard life out there. Gotta be able to dish it out and take it. I’ve seen chickadees and black crested titmouse get pretty nasty with one another.

Titmice are so cheeky..I love them, but not sure if they realize how small they are with all the noise they produce when coming in to feed!

Blue jays are corvids, like crows. Smarter birds than most; more likely to figure out that novel behaviors like tail feather pulling are an effective but safe way to get the other bird to move.
