I've been to Berghain few times and I did not take my kufiya with me to avoid risking getting rejected. But I was wondering does anybody else here take their kufiya with them to Berghain? Or have you seen people bringing their kufiya to Berghain? Or have you faced any push back on bringing kufiya to Berghain? Such as you usually get in but got rejected on the day you brought your kufiya with you? Did you face any questions about it either at the gate, at the check or anywhere inside?

P.S: please keep the discussion within the questions I asked above. I ask you to kindly keep following discussions out of the comment sections of this post. Such as,

Whether kufiyas SHOULD or SHOULD NOT be brought to Berghain?

Your opinion about Kufiya.

Your opinion about Palestine and Israel.

Whether Berghain should be boycotted or not?

Why would I want to go to Berghain instead of boycotting if I support Palestine?

It's not an exhaustive list but hopefully you get the idea.

  • It been a while since I went, but I wore my keffiyeh there the few visits

    Thanks! That's a helpful answer!

  • I've seen the occasional keffiyeh inside Berghain over the years so I guess it's fine.

On another note, I don't think reddit is a place where you can dictate what people have a discussion about and what not. That will literally always backfire and rightly so tbh.

  • First half of the post: "Am I free to..." -> YES !!!

Second half of the post: "PS: But you're not free to..." -> huhuhuhu do you see the discrepancy?

People are free to talk, and that's the basis of an open discussion: you talk about something, people say something else. You're free to express yourself, but they're too.

I'm not a state or authority. There simply are better places to discuss the political aspect of it (including probably few other posts in this subreddit) rather than a simple enquiry post.

For the first part, is that from your experience? As in did you go there with kufiya or did you see anybody there with kufiya?

  • Man this is ridiculous. Literally partied with a guy from Gaza in Pano the last time I went. No I don’t think a kufiya is a problem, unless you look like a total goober wearing it. Frankly I don’t find the dancefloor at berghain to be the best place for political statement, unless that statement is “I want to dance”. Regardless of your beliefs. If you’re not comfortable going to berghain because a dj who played there also played in Israel, don’t go. No one is twisting your arm.

Sadly you didn't read past half of the post. There was literally no mention of who plays where. And you brought up topics that were specifically not part of the discussion. The question was simply whether anyone has had any experience with it. If that is not you, please feel free to ignore the post.

But it's part of the question?! The question is only valid because of the politics behind it? So how to exclude it?!

It is not part of the question. I'm not questioning why or why not. The question is just if anyone has experiences with it. In fact, I specifically made it crystal clear that I'm not interested in the why or why not questions in this thread. If you have opinions about kufiyas or Berghain or the politics behind it, please find an appropriate post/thread for it.

Lol, ok.Wearing a political statement and asking if you can wear it but don't want to talk about it. Good luck. Then the only productive thing I can give you: depends on the guy at the door. If all say it's no problem -> could be different if you are there. If all say absolutely not -> could be different if you are there.

I would say if you don't have personal experience with it, it's not the best thread to give your two cents here. The question is pretty much based on personal experience. Nevertheless, thanks and have a nice evening!

Ok, got it, have no personal experience. A nice evening for you too 👍

  • I never wear black and always get in. And i think it could be the same with a kufiya, if you feel comfortable with it, you’ll get in.

  • It should not be a problem. You can get a keffiyeh from thepalestineshop and it will deliver fast.

Seems like you're actually trying to profit from it and promote your drop shipping fake online store. It's completely off topic where someone wants to buy their kufiya. But just in case anyone is interested, don't buy from the website this guy mentioned (which looks pretty fake). Only trusted place to buy kufiya is the one that is actually made in the only kufiya factory remaining in Palestine, called Hirbawi. From what I can tell, you don't even live in Germany.
