Visiting Edgewater & NYC on the 4th and 5th and would LOVE to know some highly recommended restaurants by locals in or near Edgewater. We are open to almost any type of food. Thank you!!
It’s living on former glory. We went for Christmas Eve and it was a mess. Sat an hour after our reservation, took an hour for food to come out and the plating was horrible. I could feel grit on the plate rim and my entree was just slopped on the plate.
We just hit this spot in Edgewater called Sazanami Hamba-Gu, Japanese hamburger steaks (different from the well known curry bar Sazanami in fort Lee). I pride myself on being a something of a burger expert and honestly the burger was amazing. Totally new experience eating it with rice instead of in a bun with fries. Super simple menu but if you like Japanese food and meal sets, recommend for sure.
River Palm if you’re going fancy, Pa De for Thai, Urban Tomato or Porto for pizza, Oblatan for KBBQ, Soup Dumpling Plus for chinese, Fresh Bites Dorisak for kimbap, Tsujita for ramen. There’s some great bakeries around too like Davant, Cafe&, Blue Angel, Belle Journee.
O2 Korean Barbecue in Guttenberg is my and my husband’s favorite spot and everyone we take falls in love with it, too. We’ve been going for years now. His little cousins beg for us to take them all the time.
It’s super close to Edgewater and so worth the 30-minute drive we take to get there. All-you-can-eat for 100 minutes.
Their marinated chicken is always a favorite!
They also validate parking in the Tower decks, so be sure to take your ticket in and give it to them when you pay your check.
If you can make it over to Palisades Park for a meal, I’d say it’s worth it for the Korean food. So Moon Nan Jip has been my family’s go to for Korean bbq for a while now and there are a ton of spots on broad ave.
Around the Edgewater area, our personal favorites are Blackbeard Ramen, Mirak (sushi), River Palm, Soup Dumplings Plus, and the Vodka Chicken Parm sandwich at Urban Tomato. Haven is solid as well but a bit pricey given the portions.
Not a huge fan of Mitsuwa personally, but it’s definitely unique and worth stopping by if you’re in the area as well.
Edgewater for food is a meh compared to fort Lee. Except for Mitsua food court most places are very underwhelming, not to mention strict liquor licensing. If you have enough time just take an Uber to fort Lee and you will have plenty of amazing Korean and Japanese restaurants at all price points.
The best thing in Edgewater is the Sojo spa, if you want to treat yourself.
Mitsuwa market place is a food court but worth a visit.
We are already planning a trip there but werent sure if there was anything more recommended! Very excited to go there!
If you like ramen Hokkaido Ramen Santouka is solid
100 agree with their ramen
I’ll also recommend Blackbeard Ramen for any Ramen lovers
Haven is nice. Also enjoy this Asian spot called SEAK.
Pa De is better than SEAK for thai food imo
Definitely agree. I go to SEAK for their Vietnamese pork chops 😋
I’ve been there. It’s really good as well.
Seak is great, river palm terrace is pricey but Good, Porto by Antonio(pizza spot)and for a coffee shop kuppi coffee is good.
These are all solid suggestions.
We love Kuppi or is it Cuppi, and Porto is great
I second Porto
Kuppi with a K
i can't get behind SEAK. i've tried it 3 times and every time it tastes like asian night at university dining hall.
Hey, from the "School of Half Glass..." maybe your school had a great food service provider.
My mother wasn't a great cook, so to me, Olive Garden's pasta is better than mom's.
River Palm
This! Love that place. Gangsters, athletes, and celebrities. Old school.
Meh. Quality has gone down in the past few years while the prices keep climbing up. The sushi there is still good but steaks are just ok now
We were disappointed in our steaks there last time we went.

this place is banging. The little sides are fun too.

We just went to Doner Point. It was qiute good. I had the chicken shish kebab and it was delicious.
Stay away from is Son Cubano (IMHO). Bad, expensive food.
De Palma Bros
Life After, Molos and Haven
The food court at Mitsuwa Marketplace, Sazanami
