legend has it, the architect only realised after the building was completed, and jumped from the top. they put a star in the Grote Markt to point where he landed.
All just via google, there's more than enough public resources to recreate the build more or less accurately :) In fact I mostly used streetview for this haha
If you ever do want to, there's a mod called litematica you can use to make a schematic that can be pasted into any world, or even used to build the thing in survival!
Vanilla. I'm using a texture pack that doesn't change too much. A lot of this was done via the (vanilla) debug_stick. I do use tools like worldedit to speed up the process, but technically all of this can be done without it too. The shaders help with the presentation of course :)
Thanks! These are all vanilla blocks. Using the debug stick (a vanilla feature in creative) you can alter block states as you prefer, allowing for more detail :)
I genuinely thought the first pic was the irl version to then compare yours to. Insane work
Thank you!!
What he said. Epic level of dedication. That is just amazing.
Thank you very much!!
As a Belgian I love that it is almost TOO much off to the left (I know that IRL it is off center), this is phenominal work!
The architect should have jumped off the tower for this!
Hey I know you from WBC builds, pioneers in minecraft creative mode honestly!

Here was my attempt for the tower, I quit the building though 😂
I'm on WBC, yes :) I think you should continue your build, it looks great!
You did absolutely great work man, you were long an inspiration for me
That's the greatest compliment, thank you :)
Very nice!
Thanks!!
Above the general impressiveness of the build, great use of shaders!
Thank you!
Impressive. It took me a few seconds to realise the first picture was an in-game screenshot and not a photo xD
Thank you haha!!
You made it asymmetrical........
that's because it is.
legend has it, the architect only realised after the building was completed, and jumped from the top. they put a star in the Grote Markt to point where he landed.
Yeah that was the joke, I was suggesting OP should also recreate that with Steve in Minecraft :)
As long as I don't have to jump lol
Honestly that would be hilarious, jump from it in survival mode as if you've just realised your mistake
Real life building is too ;)
not just the building, but these pictures are VERY well made!
Thank you very much!
Amazing! Are you planning to do the entire square as well?
Thank you! I might continue the project at some time, yes ;)
It's beautifully done
Thank you!
Where did you get the plans?
All just via google, there's more than enough public resources to recreate the build more or less accurately :) In fact I mostly used streetview for this haha
i tought the first 4 were real pictures for comparison, on the 5th i realised they werent
Thank you!!
I was scrolling to find the Minecraft one untill I realized at the last pic that they all were. Amazing!
Thank you!!!
That is insane! How much time did you spend on it?
Thank you! A few evenings :)
Congrats! Very beautiful.
Thanks!!
Do you have world downloads somewhere? Would love to see some of your builds in MC myself
It's on a private server with other people's build, so no downloads unfortunately. :)
If you ever do want to, there's a mod called litematica you can use to make a schematic that can be pasted into any world, or even used to build the thing in survival!
I'll keep that in mind , thank you ;)
is your pc on fire yet?
Also great built btw
Thank you! No flames yet :D
Eindelijk een full detail, mooi werk
Dankjewel!
Damn that's sick, you should send this to local media.
No idea who I'd send this to, maybe they find it via this post haha
https://www.bruzz.be/meld-nieuws
I'd be surprised if they didn't want to write an article about that :)
Thank you! I'll consider sending something in :)
I love it when people do this stuff. Absolutely beautifull work
Thank you!!
Fantastic work. I play Minecraft occasionally since Beta (10+ years!), and my houses still look like boxes.
Maybe you should try to recreate the whole Grote Markt.
Thank you! I might do that, but right now my 'main' project is focused on recreating parts of leuven in MC ;)
Have you done the Arenberg Castle by any chance?
Not yet, I'm focusing on Leuven centrum first. I'd love to build it one day!
Vanilla Minecraft or modded?
Vanilla. I'm using a texture pack that doesn't change too much. A lot of this was done via the (vanilla) debug_stick. I do use tools like worldedit to speed up the process, but technically all of this can be done without it too. The shaders help with the presentation of course :)
It... looks real. Crazy.
Thank you!!
Really cool! Did you use some mods? Some blocks look too miniaturized for the vanilla game (like the arms of some of the statues)
Thanks! These are all vanilla blocks. Using the debug stick (a vanilla feature in creative) you can alter block states as you prefer, allowing for more detail :)
You're crazy
I won't deny that!
Epic!!
Thanks!
Amazing work ! Congratulations from my 8yo son who has been discovering Minecraft for a few months.
He has several books and explains to me non-stop things :) at this moment, he s into the Redstone possibilities 😁
He told me you could add flags :)
I'm so glad he likes it! Flags would be a great addition, please tell him thanks for that idea!!
Nice to see you are still working on the project! Stunning as always.
Thank you!!
Okay I thought this was a real picture at first. Nice work!
Haha, thank you!
Can you make a symmetric version? It always bothered me the tower isn’t centered
It adds to the charm! I like how both sides are somewhat different. If you do like a symmetrical vesion I can recommend the Wiener Rathaus ;)
Holy shit it looks better than the real thing!
Thank you!!
Absolute legend
Thanks!! :)

Have a work in progress pic to prove I did build it :)
