Using console commands to Give XP to a party member because I want to use Minsc for this DLC, but don’t want him under leveled.

When I press “Give XP” in the console command popup, it leaves the selected character with an insanely large gap to level up. A character goes from needing 8k xp to level up 600k, and it doesn’t even level up the party member at all. This happens with any “Give XP” value I enter. The default value it leaves to Give XP is 50000, but even if I rewrite it to 10xp it leaves the same result, an ungodly amount needed to level up a character. This happens when both either selecting a single party member or all members at once. Any ideas?

It almost seems like some type of anti cheat system😂

  • It doesn't "give" xp, it sets their xp to the value you enter. So if you're trying to 'give' them 10xp, you're setting their total xp gained to 10

oh that makes sense🤦🏻‍♂️ so if i give my character 160k xp in base game, he would be maxed? Since 160k is the level cap

Yep, just enter the value you want them to have and they'll recieve the appropriate amount of levels

    thank you!! i got it🙏🏼

I thought in SoD it went up to 500k?

yeah i meant for just Base game , not SoD DLC

  • You can set the amount, just delete the default value and type in what you want.

In the console text field on the bottom of the screen, you could also type C:SetCurrentXP("XXXXX")

  • The gold command is addgold, the xp command is setcurrentxp. When you are messing with xp, you arent adding it, unlike the gold command; as the command says, you are setting your xp to that value

  • I am a fan of EEKeeper, but “do this instead of the thing you’re trying to do” isn’t generally great advice. Maybe he doesn’t want to download another piece of software. Maybe he heavily mods the game and EEKeeper messes it up.

more reliable than console. been using various versions since they were available. 20 + years. messes up the game is only possible if you start messing with variables. even then can be fixed by reverting to a previous save.

Uhh, no. It doesn’t support any content added by mods, for instance. So if you use IWDification or similar, EEKeeper will erase those spells from your guy. Again, Keeper is great, but it’s not always the best solution.

“Do X instead” is not an answer to “why isn’t Y working?”

Yes it does. you just do not understand the referances.

Bro it literally gives an error that says “blah blah blah if you save these spells will be removed from your character” and go figure, it’s not lying. Argue all you want, you’re wrong about this and you didn’t answer OP’s question anyway.

then they messed something up. the save game file is simples. need more data. 20 years. any screw up. was my fault.

besides, he just trying to add xp. should be simple editing.

Any mod added ability will usually have a certain tage addded to its contence.
