1. what version are you using? e.g. gog, steam, etc.

    2. have you cded to the game directory? this should contain chitin.key and have subdirectories "lang," "override," etc. If you are up or down a level from that, it will not work.

    3. have you made your filesystem case-insensitive using ciopfs, or otherwise lowercased everything? If you have not used ciopfs, what method have you used? Do not use the "tolower" utility provided with weidu.

    Can you run:

    find /mnt/modbox/bgee -name 'dialog.tlk' -print

The method described there looks like it should work, but weidu isn't finding the game files, so my first goal is to figure out where they are.

I put in the command and got this:

    find /mnt/modbox/bgee -name 'dialog.tlk' -print

    /mnt/modbox/bgee/lang/de_DE/dialog.tlk

    /mnt/modbox/bgee/lang/uk_UA/dialog.tlk

    /mnt/modbox/bgee/lang/cs_CZ/dialog.tlk

    /mnt/modbox/bgee/lang/it_IT/dialog.tlk

    /mnt/modbox/bgee/lang/fr_FR/dialog.tlk

    /mnt/modbox/bgee/lang/nb_NO/dialog.tlk

    /mnt/modbox/bgee/lang/ko_KR/dialog.tlk

    /mnt/modbox/bgee/lang/pl_PL/dialog.tlk

    /mnt/modbox/bgee/lang/es_ES/dialog.tlk

    /mnt/modbox/bgee/lang/en_US/dialog.tlk

    /mnt/modbox/bgee/lang/ru_RU/dialog.tlk

    /mnt/modbox/bgee/lang/ja_JP/dialog.tlk

    /mnt/modbox/bgee/lang/hu_HU/dialog.tlk

    /mnt/modbox/bgee/lang/tr_TR/dialog.tlk

    /mnt/modbox/bgee/lang/zh_CN/dialog.tlk

    /mnt/modbox/bgee/lang/pt_BR/dialog.tlk

i'm pretty sure something is wrong with the case insensitivity thing then.

    1. Did you add the fstab entry in the guide? (part 1 step 6).
    2. If yes to #1, did you actually reboot afterwards? If not, please reboot and then run weidu again to see if the error changes or goes away. The fstab entry has no effect until boot time. (Note: If the entire /mnt/modbox/bgee is gone after you reboot, then there is something wrong with the mounting of the image and you need to change the fstab entry.)
    3. If you did reboot and it's still not working, please try:

ls /mnt/modbox/bgee/lang/en_us (note lowercase) to test whether tools other than weidu are able to find the files using the lowercase name.

Also can you share the contents of /mnt/modbox/bgee/setup-bg1npc.debug? (Unless they are identical to what you showed above.)

Did this and all it showed was /mnt/modbox/bgee/setup-bg1npc.debug
