Video captured the moment a knifeman strolled out of a London underground station after stabbing two strangers in an unprovoked attack.

Nicholas Orlando Green launched the assault in Kennington, south London on March 27, 2024.

Green repeatedly stabbed one of his victims, in his 40s, for around 20 seconds before attacking a friend who tried to intervene.

He then made his way to a lift, where he assaulted a woman before leaving the station.

CCTV shows the emotionless 36-year-old breathing heavily before pushing through the barriers to exit the station - as if nothing has happened.

Green, of Kennington, is yet to offer an explanation for the attack and repeatedly laughed during police interviews, police said.

He has now been jailed for 11 years after being convicted on four counts related to the incident.

Detective Chief Inspector Paul Attwell, of the British Transport Police (BTP), said: 'This was a truly horrific and unprovoked attack that left two innocent men with life-altering physical and psychological injuries that they continue to recover from.

'Green has never provided an explanation for his torrent of violence.

'During police interviews he repeatedly laughed, lied, argued and tried to frustrate our investigation as much as he could.

'But our officers worked tirelessly to gather crucial evidence that helped the jury see through his lies and bring him to justice.'

A sentencing hearing last month heard Green's two stabbing victims, aged 44 and 42, had entered Kennington Underground station at around 10:30pm on March 27, 2024.

They were part of a larger group of people who had finished a local dance class and had gone to separate platforms.

A short while later, Green tapped into the station with his bank card and made his way down to the platform.

Moments later, he launched a frenzied and unprovoked attack on the older man, repeatedly stabbing him for around 20 seconds with a knife clenched in his right hand and continuing to attack him even after he'd fallen to the floor.

Hearing the commotion, the court heard the second victim rushed over to intervene.

Green then began attacking him in the same way, knocking him to the ground before other horrified members of the public intervened.

The court was told Green then got to his feet and made his way to a lift, where he assaulted a 31-year-old woman before leaving the station.

Both stab victims were rushed to hospital. The older victim suffered multiple stab injuries to his chest and a fractured arm, whilst the younger suffered a total of 13 stab injuries.

BTP detectives launched an investigation and established Green's identity from the bank card he'd tapped into the station with.

He was arrested the following day by BTP officers at his flat in Kennington and taken into custody.

During a search of his address, officers located the card he had used to tap in, as well as the trainers and jacket he'd been wearing during the attack - the latter having been freshly washed.

Green was jailed for 11 years after being convicted of two counts of grievous bodily harm with intent, one of possessing a bladed article and one of common assault.

He was cleared of two counts of attempted murder and one count of sexual assault at trial.

DCI Attwell said: 'I hope this sentencing brings some measure of justice and reassurance to the victims and their loved ones.

'We will stop at nothing to ensure violent offenders like Green are held to account and removed from the streets.'
