  • There is growing interest from Russia and China in the island, which has untapped rare earth deposits, as melting ice raises the possibility of new trade routes.

I've been saying this shit all day but a deal will be struck and nothing will materially change. Ecpect the US to put more military installations (which they can already do) and a lot more economic investment (which they can already do) after Trump gets a perfunctory 'deal'.

It’s a negotiation tactic like with the tariffs.

It's not like the EU can stop them.

    Nothing ever happens.

And if it does, blame the cat.

  • "My gay uncle and his two boyfriends had a poly marriage ceremony today, so proud of them"

Macron's handshake game is, admittedly, very strong.

Ukraine got Boris some support when everyone was starting to hate him. Surely it'll work for me too?!

  • West Midlands police sound like a bunch of mongs

West Midlands Police capitulated to Islamists and then collaborated with them to cover it up.

They knew extremists were planning to attack Jews for going to a football match, and their response was to blame and remove Jewish people instead. They presented an inversion of reality and misled a Parliamentary Committee.

The Chief Constable’s position is untenable.

The British Police serve the British public, not local sectarian interests.

    https://x.com/KemiBadenoch/status/2008591610636886505

Just remember, when the far, hard, ultra right-wing say there was decades worth of evidence that the police were covering up for certain communities because they didn't want to be seen as racist, they're just making things up

Most senior officers in all police forces across the country are mongs. Discussions with friends and family who were/are in the police have revealed that a lot of these people fall upwards, as in they're the kind of people to immediately take their sergeants exam after their 2-year probation is up, then dick about as a crap sgt for a while, then as a crap inspector, so on and so forth until they're at the top making these kinds of ridiculous policy decisions without any realworld experience on the job.

Not so dissimilar to how a lot of our politicians get to where they are really.

  • Just put on the latest The Rest is Politics and Rory has said something insanely stupid in record time. I stopped the clock. I'm not even 5 seconds in!

Trump is almost the first person since Genghis Khan to say 'I'm just going to help myself to territory..'

    What?

What an absolute fucking idiot he is

Rory didn't want us to go to war with the Nazis confirmed

People think this guy was a spy btw

Nothing has happened in the past 800 years.

This is taking NEH to extreme levels

To be fair, what has Denmark done with Greenland the entire time they've had it? Pretty much nothing.

A Trump-led US would make far better use of the territory and keep our hemisphere safer.

Maybe in the long run but they'll probably have the same short term issue of "it's a giant block of ice".

It's not easy to run a mining operation when the shipping routes in and out are impassable for a significant chunk of the year.

At the end of the day, if the minerals aren't worth more money than it costs to mine them, no one will bother. That's the current situation, they cost more to mine than they are currently worth.

The ice cap is one to three miles thick. If it melts the US will have other stuff to worry about

That right - and all the signs are pointing to the beginning of a commodities supercycle.

Trump has proved his superforecasting qualities time and time again over his presidency. If he sees value in Greenland, others should take note.

I'm just saying you can't use it against Denmark because even if it becomes profitable in the future, then is not now.

    [deleted]

Although that's a symptom not a cause. There's no sane reason to be pro-industrialisation if it's just all environmental destruction and negative profit.

Did he just forget he's British?

Of course not, in his eyes the British aren't people so they don't count

There's plenty of logic in America not relying on the long term stability of a Europe currently being overridden by Islamic migrants.

Ah yes the viral strategic ally of Denmark.

Most of Europe is a military and geopolitical liability for the US. We get far more out of NATO than they do.

They want the whole of North America. They'll go after Canada next. Panama watch out too.

This Greenland issue is a gift to the left and potentially damaging to right-wing parties in Europe due to simple association in the mind.

I think it will make people who are sympathetic to Trump and admire his brash attitude pause for thought.

yeah, it's an utter joke that it lets braindead EU libtards pose as patriotic defenders of Europe against a rapacious predator, all while they were perfectly happy to lie down and "think of England" when the same predator was a suave black guy in a tan suit. Remember when it turned out Obama had been bugging Merkel's phone and everyone just shrugged?

Or when it came out the USA had Switzerland install bugging devices in all of the communications equipment was sold to US allies.

I’m a big Trump fan but this Greenland nonsense is ridiculous.

They basically already control it anyway.

Why is he so bloody stupid

He unironically sees it as his Louisiana Purchase moment

This is something Trump is undeniably an utter mong about.

Doing this is immediately after the Venezuela thing is hilarious.

All because of someone's wife posted "soon."

The Americans could easily twist the Danish arm to give them some kind of mineral rights deal in Greenland, similar to what they pulled with the Ukrainians, and do it all under the guise of it simply being back-payment for decades of military assistance or whatever. The only convincing actions needed would be economic nudging and maybe a suggestion they would reduce troop numbers in Europe or something to grease the negotiating gears.

Instead, they've obviously decided that making direct military threats against a long time economic and military partner (Denmark not only helped in Afghanistan after 9/11, but they also were one of the few Euro countries to contribute to Desert Storm Iraqi Freedom in 2003 and the shite that came after it) is a superior choice, and that it's worth it to scupper the trans-atlantic alliance.

I'm not sure what calculus they're following, but it must show it's a cracking idea to sacrifice US hegemony if it means owning the libs.

Desert storm (alongside desert shield and sabre [sabre being the actual ground invasion]) was 1990-1991 in the gulf. Operation Iraqi Liberation was 2003.

Oopsy daisy; and I have 4000 hours in HOI4 :(

If you want to breach the next level of autism you can start looking up what British operations are named after. TOSCA in Cyprus being named after a minor poet for example.

I'm not sure what calculus they're following

    The crack pipe

Your point about a smarter way to go about it is spot on. Trumps approach seems to have a lot of support in this sub.

I think this is just a little tip of the hat to Trump’s idol Putin. I think a lot of the based brexiters in here would like to see Europe burn even if it meant an obviously worse situation for the UK.

    Trump's idol Putin

    🙄

Who do you prefer? Lukashenko? Galtieri? Khomeni?

Or are you suggesting that Trump doesn’t clearly want to be a strong man dictator?

This is an exceptionally Reddity, over-the-top response and I know you're capable of better. OBVIOUSLY the answer is "none of the above", and I think you know it.

I'm hardly a Trump fanboy but the idea he "idolises" Putin is puerile. For all his faults, of which there are many, no: I don't think Trump wants to be a "dictator". This kind of claim is ludicrous.

Genuinely surprised that anyone not a genuine MAGA type could deny that at this point. He’s openly corrupt, he uses military might to paper over domestic cracks, he is abusing executive power in an unprecedented fashion and he’s talking about running for office for a third time breaking the constitution and more importantly, American tradition.

He openly praises foreign anti-western dictators.

I really think the fact he owns the libs has blinded right wingers to the fact he is a corrupt, underhanded, treacherous, big baby simpleton that represents the very worst of America and is not acting in the interest of the UK (which is what we should actually care about) at all.

If Trump could have totally limitless state control and a gang of terrified sycophants underneath him like Putin does he would absolutely love it.

I think it's a bit unfair to characterise most who supported brexit as being Putin simps. No doubt there's more than a few rabidly anti-west/anti-lib/anti-EU/whatever people on this board, but chances are a lot of those aren't even British users anyway.

Do think anyone here who glazes Trump and his team needs to have a think though, and seriously consider if they would (or will) treat us differently if/when we're in the firing line. I don't think this is a US president we can trust at this point, and being based or XYZ-pilled won't gain you any favour. Denmark is about as based as western countries come when it comes to things like immigration and asylum, they're far more severe than we are, yet Trumps team has targeted them nonetheless.

I support brexit so I know it doesn’t automatically make you a Putin shill, it just seems that some have become so Americabrained that they have started to agree with MAGA foreign policy points that are objectively bad for the UK. It isn’t good for the UK if Putin takes Ukraine. It isn’t good for the UK if the US annexes Greenland. I think the only thing more embarrassing than being an American who can’t point to Europe on a map is being an Englishman who supports those people’s foreign policy positions.

Yes on your second point agreed.

As I've been saying all day, its a negotiation tactic.

It's a crap negotiation tactic though. Direct military threats and action should be your final card, not the one you play immediately. Trump and his team didn't even bother using any of their other options and went straight for the (hopefully metaphorical) nuke.

To be fair this kind of approach is on form for them, they did something similar this time last year after they had that spat with St. Zelensky where they dropped all support for Ukraine, including cutting intelligence sharing, to try and get the Ukrainians to sign whatever peace deal the US demanded and so lost all of their negotiation leverage immediately. All of which was for nothing, since they resumed intelligence sharing and arms sales not long after and the Ukraine quagmire continues to this day.

He's a shit negotiator and probably knows he is going to die this year from some terminal illness he's hiding. Simultanesouly, Denmark is a terrible steward of Greenland - they didn't even invite the Premier to their provincial leaders/PM conference they hold annually - and literally stole it from Norway initially anyways.

You’ve gone native TT, spent too long in nascar land, put down the chlorinated chicken and eat some Yorkshire puds, come back to us (spiritually, physically you can stay there)

Doesn't help I'm doing a dry 90 days and six days into it lol

  • Just had fun experience in the supermarket. Big queue for the self scan and no manned tills so decided to just leave rather than buy anything. Asked massive security guard (African) to open gate so I could leave, but he refused , so I tried to squeeze between the gate and the till. He didn't like this and charged towards the gate to prevent me leaving, and throttled me with his hands around my neck. He said "you have to queue to leave"

I have filed a crime report online and will be suing the supermarket (unless they want to settle).

Unironically the punishment for this [REDACTED] should be swift and permanent.

You should have whipped out your kung fu and shown him your power level

Look he probably thought you were possessed by a djinn, one that can clear any barrier without receipt, one of the most powerful, so he performed an exorcism on the spot and saved your life, you should be grateful

Have you tried not looking like a crackhead?

    Congrats on the payday!

Also think of all the GDP this Bomalian has created by assaulting you.

    • You get £30k

    • Your lawyers get £15k

    • The supermarkets lawyers get £15k

    Economic rocket fuel.

Bloody hell, better try get the CCTV quick, imagine it might disappear

Yeah he was wearing a body-worn camera (no idea if he can fiddle with it or whatever) so if it was on then it would capture his 100% culpability in full detail. I said to him "you are stupid" and "don't you have any training?" While i was remonstrating with him he said he would call the police. I said "for what!?" He said "you could damage the gate!" I pointed at the gate, which was entirely undamaged and its original position. Should have probably also noted that me squeezing by is not going to cause damage, but him trying to stop me is much more likely to do so.

In my analysis the supermarket is fully liable because they've chosen to gate off both entrance and exit (you need to scan a receipt to leave) so this guy was definitely acting in the course of his duties and they are liable for him being a mentalist.

Yeah he was wearing a body-worn camera

Some of those might need to be manually started. They might not be recording all the time. I would be surprised if they didn't cctv the exits though.

I hate supermarkets that do this. It's completely ineffectual too because you can buy a pack of chewing gum to get a receipt and use that to scan out with a couple bottles of captains morgans hidden under your coat. It doesn't stop shop lifting.

Low trust society bullshit creeping in.

Scanning a receipt to leave a shop? What kind of hellscape has the UK become? You guys that still live there are frogs in boiling water fuck me.

Costco always has a staff member at the exit who spends all day looking at trolleys and comparing them against your receipt. At least this generates a (pointless) job as opposed to checking electronically for the mere presence of a receipt.

However in this exchange I'm going with OP being a bit of an antagonistic clown who deserves a bit of a smack down. Like if you can't ask the minimum wage worker nicely to get out without buying anything without a confrontation you're almost certainly the problem.

Costco is a members' club with out of-town 'warehouse' locations where you have to go to the trouble of driving there, parking, etc., and I guess their average spend is £100+, so it seems a bit more reasonable to impose rules as you've explicitly signed up to a "club". Certainly when I've been a member there I understand that part of the deal is a check on the way out.

This however was a small-format high street supermarket, where I am sure most shoppers are on foot (there is not even a car park), so I'm sure plenty of people just browsing. And any case it wasn't a receipt check, just me deciding not to buy anything.

And as i said, I did ask him - perfectly nicely - to let me out, but he refused. There's nothing antagonistic about leaving a supermarket without buying anything, and it's obviously more sensible to ask the security guard who is literally doing absolutely nothing to help, than to try to push pass a long queue of customers to ask the hapless shopworker supervising all the "wrong item weight" "check age", etc. at the self-scan tills.

kin hell yeah have the cunts.

my worthless cousin got banged on the head by a tin of peaches or some shit when the shelf collapsed and she got three grand and that was a million years ago.

edit: that was from them settling, which they were very keen to do.

yeah initially I was like "meh, no big deal"., but after the initial adrenaline wore off I have pain in both shoulders, so I might go to GP tomorrow

Don't forget that you now have anxiety going into supermarkets so you'll need to claim for a care worker to do your shopping for you each week for the rest of you life.

yes. I'm wondering best way to deal with it. I don't need help to sue people, but usually this sort of thing is dealt with by out-of-court settlement, and I need to work out the right number.

    There's a few elements I think:

    * unlawful imprisonment (but pretty brief)

    * battery/assault

    * personal injury

It's immediately an assault, report him to the SIA as well they could have his badge for being a fucking inbred idiot. And in no case is this "reasonable force" – so report to police as well.

  • So now that a countries leader got grabbed out of bed in the middle of the night, and everyone had a small meltdown then gave up because no one can do anything about it - can we agree nothing ever happens

    Life seems back to normal

Nah Mango’s launching a full scale invasion of Greenland/Canada/The world next, according to the astute geopolitical minds on arghpol.

Please can he do UK first, I'd fly back and join ICE immediately.

This was a happening, it was just done so quickly the "happening" state only lasted a couple of hours before reverting back to the universe's default state of nothing ever happening. If the mission had been botched and there was an entire captured delta team getting brutally interrogated in a Venezuelan prison somewhere then the happening would be continuing.

    That was something happening though..

If it wasn't then what constitutes something happening? Seems the bar is set at world war.

    Defo not a happening

But how does this affect you personally?

Pretty much. Unless there's Russian tanks in Berlin or a nuke going off, nothing happened

I suspect even a nuke going off would be old news within a week.

  • Does youtube vet adverts at all? Currently I am watching a seemingly unlimited length advert for a ponzi scheme, featuring an AI slop Tom Holland (from spiderman).. Think it's been going on about 10 minutes.

    It's really obviously a scam.

You'd think there'd be laws against this.

I'm not sure why you'd volunteer to watch ads. Skill issue.

Why the fuck aren't you using an adblocker?

I just shove youtube on the TV in the background. No ad blockers on TV.

Pay the few quid for premium, or sort a proper media setup like a proper Reddit person. We all work in tech right?

Love me smarttube, I swear the videos look better than on the youtube app too.

My development environment was infected by unknown malicious software, as a result of which a few builds may have been affected.

    Nah I'm good G haha

Yeah, keep reading. Shit happens occasionally.

    Alternatively, pony up for premium.

I always get the ones featuring a supposedly disillusioned inventor who left the megacorp to share his creation with the plebs.

My heater heats the room up in seconds for much cheaper that normal electricity

Why yes it violates the law of energy conservation

Amazing how people don't realise that heaters are essentially 100% efficient so none of them can meaningfully save you money on heating.

Crypto, “sign up for my webinar” and some Palestine shite is all I get in this country. Not seen an actual advert for a real product that isn’t Chinese drop shipped tat in ages.

Youtube is just financed by scams at this point.

I get endless "this revolutionary heating device/camera lens was designed by an ex-NASA big brain and is taking the world by storm"

I had an AI Alan Sugar the other day trying to get me to invest on Biblyshitecoin or whatever. I don't get why youtube just lets adverts be 10+ minutes long. It's really really annoying when you just have youtube on TV for the background noise and then you realise you're subliminally being sold a scam by AI slop.

Put an ad blocker on man.

Youtube (hell the internet) without blockers is a foul place, not fit for dogs.

Facebook charges more if your advert is scammy

  • Drivers will be given penalty points if passengers fail to wear seatbelts

This one aimed firmly at the boms and goms.

Genuinely what is the point of changing the blood alcohol limit? If you're the kind of weakling who gets inebriated enough at 35mg to be unable to drive, then the same will be true at 22mg. Is the change directed at people who are having their first ever drink, then immediately going out for a drive?

    Sunday drink drivers smh

This strategy is a good example of how government actually functions. It has little to do with Labour, No.10 or Ministers.

It's difficult for civil servants and departments to look at casualty statistics, go to conferences and listen to the various charitable organisations/professional bodies etc. all the time without feeling the need to do something. We have safe roads in comparison, but it's still a strange experience to drive past an event that has wrecked lives on a fairly regular basis. The lack of an updated road safety strategy has been a point of embarrassment as far back as the pandemic and possibly even longer than that.

The strategy is functionally identical to one that would have been published under Grant Shapps or any of the other recent incumbents, because it's a product of various policy teams in Pimlico, and to a lesser extent Birmingham and Leeds. The document hasn't changed. Just the Ministers face. I imagine if you extrapolate this to most Government business, the story is always the same.

    This kills the Crab Pub.

They are concerned around a rise in drug-driving and the number of older people who continue to drive, despite having failing sight and other medical conditions

I am more concerned about the terrible driving standards of Wolverhampton-plated taxi drivers and the increasing prevalence of middle lane hogging on the motorways.

I'm not normally a taxi person, so the New Year's Day taxi with some mates was further persuasion that these drivers shouldn't hold a licence.

It was some Corolla/Prius automatic thing that just felt like an oversized golf buggy, the guy was constantly prodding his phones, and to him being centred in the lane meant the driver, not the car, so I was in another lane as a front seat passenger for most of the trip.

I've noticed numerous occasions of these Wolverhampton plated taxi drivers smashing into each other. They don't seem to be able to help themselves.

It makes sense I suppose, as both parties are of low driving skill and paying around 30% of the attention of a normal driver - who would be more aware of their surroundings and act to avoid an accident.

  • Here is what Starmer and Macron have signed up to once a Ukrainian peace deal is struck. British troops on the ground in Ukraine. Military hubs set up in country. Promises to act if Russia attacks again.

This is by far the most detailed readout to date on what the 'coalition of the willing' means in reality.

    https://x.com/benrileysmith/status/2008613858995225015

they are going to leave their own countries defenceless, not that i believe this will be a goer.

We don’t have the numbers for this. A token force without backup is at serious risk of getting steamrolled in round two.

It's probably intended more as a trip-wire, a bit like the deployments us and the yanks have in the baltics. If the Russians really decided to invade then those units wouldn't be able to hold out long at all before needing to withdraw, but they would incur UK/US casualties and so trigger a full response, thus making the Russians think twice.

Baltics are in NATO so there is weight to it.

With Ukraine a British and French force would draw Britain and France in but you cannot guarantee help beyond that.

It's more about building up infrastructure and attachés.

Plus the Ukrainian military has probably the most advanced and experienced drone users and manufacturers that have experienced real world combat in the world. It will be extremely useful to have direct links to these people.

The token force is there as a semi NATO deterrent, as we saw in Venezuela, Russian SAMS aren't effective against F35s so British and French involvement would mean Ukrainian air supremacy.

    [deleted]

The theory works when you pose a credible threat beyond the token force. In our case the token force is the entire deployable army. There are not multiple divisions of mechanised British troops coming to respond to an attack.

World class special forces won’t meant shit in this kind of conflict.

Why change the habit of a thousand years?

    hubs

That word is how I know this is true, definite labour quangoism

    [deleted]

    Hospitals renamed to "NHS Hubs"

Russia will never agree to deployment of NATO troops on Ukrainian soil, so I don’t think this goes anywhere.

  • The announcement that Britain and France will potentially deploy troops in support of a peacekeeping/stabilisation force in Ukraine as part of a peace deal included the term “military hubs.” This has been pointed out on BadUK previously but where has this obsession with “hub” for every act of government come from? We have “return” hubs for migrants, “warming” hubs for the cold, “economic” hubs for growth and now “military” hubs for operational deployments (which could also be called bases….). Is this an LLM favoured word, and the tyranny of the hubs a symptom of governance by ChatGPT?

I think it's short for hubris

    It's pre LLM. It's pure lanyard-brain speak.

  • The Greenland thing is hilarious. Denmark stole it from Norway yonks ago, and Norway colonised it. It's a colonial holdover and Denmark is a joke of country geopolitically - it only exists at the largesse of other powers full stop. Danes themselves are by and large pretty cool I'll admit.

Denmark couldn't hold it, it just clings to it as some vestige from a prior age and acts all like the US is doing some heinous crime saying as much. I don't really think they have a leg to stand on here.

Either way, watching the eurof*gs and canadians squirm is funny to me at least as we all know there'll be some stupid deal Trump signs that inflates his ego but does effectively nothing militarily and maybe gives Americe exclusive mineral rights idk.

It belongs to Denmark, and much of the world could be described as a 'colonial holdover'.

That may be, but Denmark can't hold it on it's own.

Sometimes I wonder about this sub. It’s very lotus-eater/Tim Poole pilled. When I read your comments I feel like I’m watching Tim Poole bang the table and grit his teeth and say “UKRAINE IS THE ENEMY OF THIS COUNTRY”.

Do you picture an antagonistic USA annexing European territory creating a permanent rift between the US and Europe as benefiting the UK?

I can think of one country outside the US that would benefit from that. Only one.

I think it's all just a show and negotiation tactics and the Danes are playing along. I wouldn't be surprised if secret negotiations are already ongoing and it'll just end up being the status quo with some American mineral rights or something and Trump exalts it as some sweeping win.

They hold it basically because when Britain ruled the seas they weren’t going to accept an Alaska purchase the other side of the GIUK gap. Britain signed a treaty with Denmark banning them from ceding it to any other power.

Pretty sure Britain has the right to buy it first if another offer comes in from said treaty.

lol can you imagine 2tk  making that deal. We’d end up owing Denmark 80 trillion pounds and the moon or something.

And we’d find out later we also owe them Oxford and Cambridge

If we can’t have our colonial possessions then why should Denmark have theirs

Correct. Although I think the idea of no colonial possessions is rapidly changing.

Denmark hasn't been a power of consequence since the fucking 1600s lol.

There is a grim truth here.

Note how Britain and France, as much as they are ridiculed, don't quite get this sort of treatment from America?

The secret is we haven't let our militaries atrophy quite like the rest of Europe has, and maintain nuclear arsenals. It doesn't make us anywhere close to peers, but we have small seats at the big boys's table and Washington D.C has to give us the time of day on occasion.

Note how Britain and France, as much as they are ridiculed, don't quite get this sort of treatment from America?

Except suez, Northern Ireland, the cod wars and Falklands, tube alloys, destroyers for bases and tizard. Im sure there was yankoid meddling in indochina too.

America cant reasonably rug us anymore so they've moved onto other countries. I expect a mysteriously well equipped Kallalit independent terrorist organisation to start carbombing Copenhagen soon.

This is precisely why Britain and France got nukes and maintained skeletal global expeditionary capabilities. At least we get a seat at the table.

All the other European countries are viewed as weak, dithering client states in the US and it doesn't help when some plucky dutch or dane on reddit starts lecturing the US on healthcare etc. Like no one gives a shit.

Starmer and co are doing their best to rapidly vacate that seat though.

Wasn't it suggested Yookay's permanent security council seat should be leased to random bomalian countries?

Probably, and I bet someone suggested we should pay them to lease it, and then pay them again to lease it back sometimes.

Who knows how loud our voices would be at that table if we "put a bit of meat on the bones" so to speak...

As for the rest of Europe, as I understand, the only ones vaguely exempt from ridicule are the likes of Poland and Finland. No nuclear weapons (that might change one day), but they pull their weight.

  • If they could kidnap a few more world leaders pls it's done wonders for my portfolio ta.

What do you have? A guy at work was talking just a few days ago (pre maduro) about defence stocks and how they were looking like paying off bigly, he must be loving this.

SAAB has been unreal over the last year or so

In a load of shares recently... of Nvidia.  I made a good profit.

Guess what I kept intact?  My defence portfolio.

    recommendations plz for defence?

Yeah defence related. Things like rocketlab, intuitive machines, karman, ASTS, redwire.

Everything is up though, even farmland reits. America stronk type sentiment.

Why do you think infinite 'nation building' and aid programs never do anything.

In light of the Learing Centre debacle I've been wondering whether it could be simply be cargo cult like behaviour? You fill out the required forms and $$$ cheques start arriving. No thought given to or understanding of anything outside of that.

    Probably being too generous.

Its just another example of the magic soil view of the world, when folks are coming from cultures with no trust outside the clan and no trust in any state entities are expected change overnight.

The Deano maximus doesn't even trust his own partner, they'll fit right in

Probably the same thing as happened on council estates - one of them figured out a new way to benniemax and they all just copied the first one's homework

If only we'd had the Star Trek Prime Directive in the Empire days, we could have left these people in their idyllic unspoilt paradises.

  • Police justifying their decision not to tell Parliament the real reason (the likelihood of violence from the local 'community') that they wanted Israeli fans banned from the Aston Villa match - "You didn't ask if that was the reason"

They're giving such political answers, but aren't we supposed to hold the Police to a higher standard? Presumably if a regular constable had lied in a similar way they'd be out on their arse with no pay and a forfeited pension

"Rrgular Constables" lie often, and we do little to nothing.

Not a hair follicle among them..

Anyway, that's BadUK correct again instance #9224428..

I hate how rUKPol is pretending they weren't fully on the 'Tel Aviv M are the literal worst hooligans on planet earth, and must be banned. Nothing strange at all' train..

Different people I think, all of the people criticising the police for have green RES upvote totals for me which means they've spoken sense quite a few times. The usual subjects are mostly avoiding the threads or heavily downvoted.

I miss RES. Was very handy for that kind of thing.

You can still use it, just go to old.reddit and set it as your default somewhere in the settings. Then install res.
