  • Why does anyone want to invest in the current state of the country with the insane amount of tax and stuff levied

Common law jurisdiction with very reasonable corporate law. Reasonable employment laws. Decently educated population. Functioning infrastructure. Financial services. Nothing ever happens so that is stability.

Assuming you’re talking about the FTSE the vast majority of their earnings are overseas. It’s basically mining companies.

some hard hitting journalism here. my man goes to the ends, the baddest place in britain, originally he said it was harpenden (proper bad mans live there, he's very lucky to not have gone there), but then he went to bedford, brap. He managed to find a spanish grandma with similar opinions to an argentinian grandpa. and he baited this english boomer by agreeing with him that extra hair dressing shops aren't all just cutting hair.

He should go see what the "diverse" towns of Britain think of black people.

Well, he wouldn't possibly do that now!

we're at a point where I just think is any of that real footage at all

I can't bring myself to imagine a real proud strong man would start with such a victim mindset while opening oneself to the totally alien culture of Bedford

This mandem needs to be fast-tracked to a knighthood. The risks he took to expose probably the most racist town in the UK and the world, nevermind just the nearby luton, init.

I almost forgot about Harpenden. I'm amazed he got through there without being largely peacefulled on the train.

  • It's good, but I would go a step further.

The UK massively increasing demand for hemp, will fuel the drug trade and international terrorism. Do you want ISIS to win?

    Ha Ha!

    Come back Mr Pierrepoint.

And I'm honestly believing that I'll get another perm ban for that comment.

On to account 8 or whatever!

"Child rapists will be jailed for life if Reform UK wins the next election."

sounds good, put them on the heavily mined disused site of "Happy Friends Welcome Island" once the Orca brigade is up and running

  • Right chaps, I aware that at this time of night the sub is awash with expats, so I want to call on your advise. Let's say that I've agreed a contract in principle to leave the country in three months time.

What are the things that I need to sort out now.

More importantly, what are the things that I'm not even thinking about that need to be sorted out, that are going to fuck me when I realise I've not done them

Biggest issues that I found were with keeping your British bank accounts and phone numbers.

If you don’t use your number you lose it after a few months. Your bank will close your bank account once they realise you are not UK resident.

You might want to keep paying voluntary NI contributions.

The Student Loans repayment threshold will also be lower.

Cheers, phone number is the sort of thing I was knew I didn't know, hadn't considered it and losing it will be an arse with the poorly thought out 2FA that so many services use.

Will add it to the list of things that need to be handled

Where are you heading? Thailand for the ladyboys or US to hunt elk and chop wood with Troubadour

    hunt Elk and chop wood

    🎵 Trouuuub's a lumberjack and he's OK 🎶

Nowhere so exotic, Eastern Europe for the moment

not currently an expat but have been to a few countries in the area

to do list is going to vary massively depending on country and how urban/modern the location you're going to is, assume it'll be a city then

how are you going to get around (presumably car) and what do you need to sort for that

do you need to prepare for inconveniences that are inherent locally which you aren't used to (everything closed on Sunday / intermittent requirement for firewood / whatever)

are there weird obscure documents you need to have at hand at all time that you have no idea about

It will be Budapest, so hopefully these will be minimised, but I will certainly look into any potential issues.

My concern is that I've considered the obvious ones, tax, house insurance, etc. then mentioning this to other people one of them said, what happens if you get called up for jury service. I honestly don't know, and it made me aware that there are a lot of things that I have no idea about when leaving the country.

Those are the things I'm hoping someone else that has done this can say, don't forget this, you twat, it takes 10 min to sort out, but you have to do it.

You don’t have to do jury service if you are not resident. If you get called up you just tell them you live abroad. Being non-resident has many legal implications, including for welfare entitlement, security clearance and such.

  • NHS should mandate Ozempic/Monjaro if you're over a certain body fast percentage, would save the state billions.

Not only do you have the cost of the drug but then you have the cost of treating the elderly for injuries related to falls. Not good.

    https://www.thelancet.com/journals/landia/article/PIIS2213-8587(24)00272-9/abstract

The crucial roles of skeletal muscle have come to the forefront of public attention due to data on the use of GLP-1 receptor agonists, which are effective for weight loss, but can cause substantial muscle loss. Studies suggest muscle loss with these medications (as indicated by decreases in fat-free mass [FFM]) ranges from 25% to 39% of the total weight lost over 36–72 weeks.2 This substantial muscle loss can be largely attributed to the magnitude of weight loss, rather than by an independent effect of GLP-1 receptor agonists, although this hypothesis must be tested. By comparison, non-pharmacological caloric restriction studies with smaller magnitudes of weight loss result in 10–30% FFM losses.3

    It’s Ozempic…

But yes absolutely agree should be celebrating people being healthier regardless of their politics.

On a side note I don’t think the left has realized that a large part of their appeal is to the obese and bitter types and as such Ozempic is going to crush their voting base.

They are similar but different - Mounjaro produces up to 20-25% body weight loss, while Ozempic manages 10-15% body weight loss.

    It is a magic drug.

My aunt's been on weightwatchers and various NHS programmes for what must have been 25 years and I've never noticed her drop any weight.

Think it's 3 months into this and she's the smallest I've ever known her.

I get the concerns that it might not build healthy habits/willpower but results speak for themselves.

Some similarly incredible pictures on r.mounjaro/top

It's one of those things where I'm astounded that it actually exists; it feels like one of those impossible inventions which I thought I'd never see in my lifetime.

It’s in pill form now as well. Obesity will be a distant memory in years to come.

There are a truckload of other peptides for all kinds of things in the pipeline at the moment.

Ozempic is effective and yet comparatively crude by the standards of even stuff about to hit the shelves soon let alone in a decade

Yep especially with AI practically solving protein folding a couple years ago. The work being done with that info now will be all sorts of miracle drugs in 10 years time

I'm just waiting on a penis reduction pill.... it's not all sunshine and rainbows folks.

I like that the headline tacitly accepts that bullying people thin works - it absolutely does.

i think the jabs worked in this case, which is called cheating and has side affects. and it didn't help in the ultimate goal of humanity, still, would not /10

The thing is, the side effects for the fat jabs would have to be extreme to be worse than the deleterious effects being fat has on your health and we know they don't have anything remotely that bad as they've been used for diabetics for a few decades now. The side effects like it dampening the reward system might even make the side effects net positive.

dropped 14 sizes in a year, really selling the jabs being bad line there beeb 🥳

Lads, I’m starting a Sunday Walking Club because I genuinely want to help people and I love walking.

We’re meeting at The Thatchers Arms (CM13 3HU) at 8am this Sunday and going for a long walk….. no running, no pressure, just fresh air and moving ya body.

It’s a chance to get fitter, clear your head, and have a proper chat about whatever’s going on in your life. No judgement, no nonsense, just a few blokes walking and talking.

When we get back, we can enjoy a bacon and scallop roll at my seafood stall, and maybe a couple of cheeky beers after if you fancy it🍺.

I want to do this every Sunday morning. It’s completely free, all men welcome, great for meeting people and having a laugh.

If you’re coming, just send me a message to confirm. See you then. Bosh❤️👊

The first reply is a highlighter boy.

    Gotta have muh safeguarding.

I don't really know who he is, but he seems to upset the right people, which is good by me.

If there's no bumming each other I'm not going.

"bacon and scallop roll" is code

Surely that's the next step after the beers ?

Half the sub is gay so I assume that applies to the rest of the dissident right.

TLDR: you’ll get filled in don’t you worry.

You will treat da kangs as da kangs dey r. Yous children shall worship dem as gods. He was beating you up for no reason was he? Think he was just trying to have fun, a bit like when ghostface the dog mauls a face off.

Take your kids on the Overground

    Windrush

  • Both main parties are dying, and the Lib Dems have failed to gain a single inch on polling. Now they want to tie themselves to Labour. They must miss the days when all their MPs could fit into a people carrier

If some Labour/LD/Green frankenstein did manage to beat Reform to a majority, what then? They'd instantly be the most unpopular government in history. Nothing would have actually changed

If some Labour/LD/Green frankenstein did manage to beat Reform to a majority, what then? They'd instantly be the most unpopular government in history. Nothing would have actually changed

You won't have to wait long to see a trial run; keep your eyes on the Senedd elections and the resultant Plaid / Labour / Green / Lib Dem uniparty orgy.

This kind of coalition only works in Europozzed PR governments where you can have endless elections with no clear winner. Under our Anglochad system it would collapse in <6 months and we'd get a thousand year Reform Reich.

I think you’re right. Labour can’t even agree with themselves never mind any other party. Good luck with that coalition.

  • That's not good. This is the second time over the past few days.

I was on the M25 on Christmas Eve and got hold up for about an hour. It's a horrible time of year for stuff like this.

  • [deleted]

Is it even possible to watch tv in the pub and hear over the din?

  • Spent 75 mins on the phone waiting to talk to HMRC, who then just... Say sorry, too busy, and hang up. No queue system, no we'll call you back, nothing.

And then you log onto reddit and people are complaining about having to send a letter once a year to to receive their bennies. And though the newspaper story is always about how the DWP have wronged the 64-year-old cancer patient who can only move one pinky toe, everyone on the UK benefits sub has autism/adhd/anxiety.

HMRC is blood boiling, they owe me 4k in tax, they were quick enough to take it from me and garnish my salary, but absolute crickets trying to get it back

  • Just deployed the ECHR wheel of fortune in anger with boomer family. Chipping away at their rose tinted views.

    Well done Baduk.

I'm currently having a chat about the ECHR on the London sub.

They seem to believe that if we left the ECHR we would revert back to some sort of medieval justice system.

    Thick cunts.

We can't revert back to a medieval justice system because Labour ditched jury trials.

Those medieval justice concepts such as Habeas Corpus and jury trials.

Innocent until proven guilty and rendering unto them what they are due. Barbaric.

Leave them to live out their days in boomerland, taking on no new information. There's no point trying to get through. They can seek comfort in bbc R4, university challenge, HIGNFY, dead ringers

  • People move on fast but it doesn't mean they've forgotten. My dad was dating 12 months after my Mom died of cancer but he still talks about my mom to me all the time.

I just think some people aren't very good at being alone. Those kinds of people never spend prolonged periods single.

Good luck to her. She was young and wanted to move on with her life.

Well, he said wait a year she waited 2…she supposed to wait forever? How long do yo wait for? It's different for everyone innit? Also as this is badUK and we have shit taste in women…deffo would.

    [deleted]

Same. But also if the Mrs goes first im going to commit seppuku

    Men are the true romantics.

Buried? What's wrong with you? Sati is the way to go!

My mrs said we should be sprinkled somewhere together tbf…but I wouldn't expect her to never move on if I went early. In our 80's? Motherfucker stay unshagged haha.

  • Odds on our Shamima coming back before 2029? I’m saying 3/2.

2029 is conservative odds, she'll already be a Green Party councillor by then.

I'm on a roll and the changs so fuck it, let's do badUK proper…would.

    [deleted]

At least shamima has a puss…

I'm far more interested in the amount of BadUK who are on the "would" list with her.

    Standards here are very low.

She looks like a character from the new Wallace & Gromit, wtf lads

Almost guaranteed, won't be long until she can start decorating her council house with union jack cushions.

Yeah I said this yesterday, bookmark this as its 100% happening

its odds on with the ECHR taking an interest unless Germany or France has a similar case pending

Of course if Kier really wanted a poll bump rather than "vigorously defend" he would outright say "We will offer no defence and will not abide by any decision not in our favour" - instant +10

That's not very Rules Based International Order though, which is a tricky one for Starmer because his whole political persona and authority comes from grey functionary process-worship. He also sniffs the farts of institutions like ECtHR so damaging its authority by exposing the fact that it has no means of enforcing its bollocks beyond impotent reeeeing would be like getting Superman to eat a bowl of kryptonite porridge.

Starmer's fantasy is to resist an ECHR decision only to be overpowered and forced to submit like the naughty little PM he is. He might not surface for days after something like that happening.

  • You really couldn't make today's politics up, could you?

The Liberal Democrats have failed to challenge the Labour government on any of their authoritarian nanny state policies, and are now looking to gang up to keep Reform out - thereby denying the electorate any form of meaningful democracy, as usual. They are neither liberal nor democratic.

Labour are obviously not for the workers, that needs no explanation.

The Conservative and Unionist Party brought us Brexit, which has been arguably the least Conservative change we've had in the better part of two decades, and which has probably been the best crack at fomenting the break up of the UK.

We just need Reform to get in and make no reforms and we have officially achieved gold standard clown circus status.

The liberal democrats are just nimby pensioners now. They lost their entire voter base with the student fees vote and have been in desperate search of a new one since then.

The Liberal Democrats have failed to challenge the Labour government

They have actual positions and planned talking points on these things, but their leader instead talks about standing up to Elon / Trump. I fear the lib dems leadership team have been entirely lost to the Bluesky.

Yes, the Lib Dems are absolutely a misnomer.  Neither liberal nor democratic.

    I should know.

  • Reddit now thinks the OBR is an ancient institution handed down to us by our forefathers.

Funny how they’re happy to scrap the Lords, the Pound Sterling, the Chuch and the Union of the Crowns, but touching the OBR is beyond the pale.

Formed by Gideon as well lol

These slugs love nothing better than bootlicking the visible symbols of the lanyard class in the belief it will make everything ok.

They’re like those islanders who worshipped Prince Phillip because they thogiht it would mean US supply planes would return and shower them with abundance.

  • USA but still worth the repost

The UK discourse being awkwardly classless impedes our ability to prevent window lickers entering the discussion and dominating it by whipping up the other window lickers.

Ponder this. Consider it. Know in your heart that it is true.

Also that money works like energy you feed into a Star Trek replicator and isn't a complex abstraction for work done and demand. I'd say its because no one has had any real experience of money revealing itself as worthless but most of the third world is trapped in endless inflationary spirals and economic crisis by treating money as magic replication credits. I guess its just that people are really thick when it comes to economics.

It's true that people often don't vote down class lines (read: in their own interests) anymore. The discourse would be far more representative and interesting if they did. Probably one of the reasons we have a mainstream political monoculture.

Part of it is that a notionally "working-class" party doesn't really exist anymore, I'd argue it probably hasn't existed since at least Thatcher. The Tories have at least always been open about being the party of the ruling class while Labour have pivoted from the party of the trade unions, to the party of bomalians and benefits

People only vote in their own interest.

They don't always though. Plenty of well off London constituencies religiously vote Labour for example, despite being held in open contempt by the government.

Then you don't know the major client groups well enough. Labour is the party of well off metros. They do very well out of Labour.

On top of that, most if not all London constituencies (even the well off ones) have significant numbers of eternal benny claimants and ethnic minorities.

and of course Communist China with its intrinsic wealth class based system otherwise know as the CCP hierarchy gets to progress to world power laughing using the same system as the Victoria era UK & US.

  • Does anyone know why a bunch of investor bros are spamming uk sub Reddit’s at the moment

  • On the thread about removing citizenship:

Do you think the same for criminal convictions too? Should we have had a national referendum on whether Lucy Letby was guilty or let the Home Secretary personally decide?

This is… um… jury trials. At least conceptually if not in practice.

In some situations choosing trial by jury or judge, the judge, might be better for you. If you know you're not guilty of said crime by the law, you remove jury bias.

That concept only works in a high trust society mind you, where you can trust the judge to abide by law and not some human rights bullshit about the kid and his beloved chicken nuggets.

Just hope you have a judge who is UK instead of Yookay.

  • How has Jimmy Carr become one of the most articulate and most informed people in the UK?

(Good) comedians are, pretty much by definition, sharp, intelligent, well read people.

A solid indicator that this sub is significantly less regarded than the rest of Reddit is that you all do tend to be quite funny.

To be honest, most comedians are just luvvie trash.

I like Carr and Gervais though. And I still miss Sean Lock. He was a legend.

    [deleted]

He really does. I've seen him refer to a load of books over the past few months.

He was part of that smarmy 'Brexit amirite?' clique of Channel 4 comedians for years. I'd love to know just how he got mugged by reality to turn him into a normal person.

My hunch is that having a kid later in life flushed that whole 'smug nihilist twat' persona right out of his system.

He's maintained the most consitent work ethic out of any comedian in the country since he began. Work ethic, tax-dodging, politically incorrect - blatantly conservative values but played the game. Survived multiple cancellation attempts by simply not apologising.

He speaks well but he is wrong about much and there are at least a few people I can think of that are more articulate and more informed. Carl Benjamin most obviously. Like many here, I can't stand the lotus eaters, though. His solo stuff is almost always spot on.

Carr did suggest the insanity that AI directed at physics will change the world, a statement that implies he doesn't understand AI or physics. Physicists have been throwing theoretical mathematical models at physics for 50 years and have achieved the square root of bollocks

The lotus chaps are here constantly.

I'd heard my "game theory for politics" analysis for why losing with dignity is a stupid political strategy come out of his mouth nearly word for word. (not that its unique and I'm more than happy its spread)

But always remember he also once suggested the Rotherham victims would have been assaulted regardless because they were in care.

Jimmy Carr has a 1st class political science degree from Cambridge and has had a 30 year successful comedy career.

Carl Benjamin is a YouTube neckbeard who came to prominence due to Gamergate who recently got a degree in philosophy from the Uni of London.

I'd say Carr is probably a bit more intelligent and informed tbh...

    [deleted]

Also weirdly bitter rebuke. Do you hold a prestigious formal education you're not valued for or sumat?

No, I've just never considered Sargon of Akkad as an intellect, and I'm always surprised when people do.

Carl has his finger a lot closer to the pulse than Carr does. Carr still holds umpteen hundred luxury beliefs, as is evident from his recent Triggernometry interview.

Carl is no slouch, either. His earlier videos, e.g. on the philosophy of Starship Troopers, is top notch.

He's a comedian. He's both articulate and astute, and incredibly knowledgeable.

I don't agree with him on everything, but in my opinion he pisses all over any leader we currently have in the Commons.

It's just fucking embarrassing that a panel show comedian can resonate with public opinion so much more accurately than our leaders.

    panel show comedian

He's evolved from that to be fair, but I agree with your point!

You only have to watch comedians on celeb game shows to see how much smarter they are than the general acting class, itself a cut above on the IQ scale.

Because our political elite are all dribbling morons and cultists 🤣 anyone with intelligence or an ounce of individual agency in the main parties get immediately dropped like a sack of potatoes.

    100%.

It feels like it's deliberate to have these wet wipe tosspots in charge.

  • The Somalians scandal, when it happens, here wont stop at non-existent children. It'll be a non-existent council getting money for a non-existent taxi company to take non-existent SEND kids to non-existent schools.

Link tax: TWO reasons Shamima begum must be let back in

The first is that Begum is not alone. In November, a report into counter-terrorism by a commission of senior UK lawyers

The second reason – for all that Mahmood might dismiss it – is that the human rights court might have a point.

How much money has been transferred out of the yookay to east Africa? Remittance ought to be taxed if they won't take failed seekers etc back. It will be fucking shocking how much gets taken from taxpayer imho.

I love the idea that we can't apparently just say "no i don't care, she made her bed"

Who needs more highly regarded school places, bomalia or the ray gun community? This is the true issue of our times

Why hasn't the state pushed her down some stairs or something yet?

  • When will the government stop spamming Indians.. it's getting hard to understand what is being said in standup

Was in a bar pub in London at New Year's Eve. Entire staff surly Indians. I wonder how that happened.

My team is like two whites and six bomalians now. We keep talking about how AI is taking our jobs, but maybe if we had actual borders there wouldn’t be a shortage of jobs to begin with.

If AI takes their jobs are they going to go back

No they’re leveraged out their arses on car loans and mortgages for their anchor babies. They’ll go on welfare.

Eh I think that makes it more likely they'd leave. When the H1-B visa change was announced, there was a load of people on Reddit saying they'd just abandon their debts etc - easier to avoid repayment if you aren't in the country.

Swear half of them but on a heavier accent on purpose

Fair's fair, I do the same thing whenever someone from the America team is visiting my office

    Just do the needful

Hey guys, isn't it crazy when the girl is not doing the needful and give you some of that sweet bob and vagene? Like baby, don't you want my tandoori kebab inside your meat samosa? This guy knows what I'm taking about!

And bloody hell, what is with these stupid old white bitches who are always redeeming the code? You know what I'm mean right? Like just do not redeem it! I need that moneys to buying the fake Versace shirts you know, huh?

And also, you know when your boss is trying to makes you work late yeah? He is asking you when the Shudra employee is right there! What is up with that like? Like SAAAAR! BLoody hell make the slave work late SAARRR!!

    Am I right guys?

best i got so far is "I am very look forward to the many challenge"

🚨 NEW: Labour and the Lib Dems are planning a tactical voting strategy to stop Reform in 2029

I love how chaotic FPTP is. The next GE is going to be an unmissable night of entertainment. Also you'd like to think the Tories will return Farage's 2019 favour and unilaterally stand down candidates but you know they'll cling on for dear life until relegated to double digit seats and electorally confirmed irrelevance.

The "liberal" democrats looking to side with this authoritarian-verging-on-totalitarian Labour government, to deny any meaningful sense of democracy. You couldn't make it up. I love this timeline.

I read somewhere that such a pact would at best save 15 seats from going Reform. It won't have much of an effect.

I feel it wouldn’t actually work. A lot of Lib Dem and Labour voters aren’t automatically going to vote the way they’re told. The Lib Dems are a Remain pro immigration party. I could see people voting for Reform if that is who they’re being told to back.

Labour's voter base is now essentially just nu-Britons in the inner cities and leftist uni students.

The Lib Dem's voter base is middle-class rural people who have only ever seen a brown face on a DFS ad.

Their voters are such wildly different constituencies they may as well not even exist in the same country. This is the equivalent of the SNP and Plaid Cymru planning a tactical voting strategy.

Let's be real, unless they actually stand down candidates, this will have a very limited effect. Aside from the fact that this is going to be an extremely polarised election, thus limiting the effectiveness of local campaigning, the claims of tactical voting are unrealistic because at least half of the electorate aren't even aware of the concept. Even for those on the left that are, I can't imagine many would be willing to entertain voting for this particular Labour party, even if they don't want Reform in. The left-wing block has been thoroughly ostracised by Starmer and purged from the party, many of whom have moved over to the Greens and Your Party; this kind of betrayal isn't something they're going to forget, the left will forever hate each other more than their common enemy.

If they do stand down candidates, the onus will be placed on the Greens as a fringe party and given their surging popularity, they would be fools to do that. Labour and the Lib Dems see themselves as too mainstream to even countenance the idea, so they're effectively going to have to rely on tactical voting websites to sway people. It would be generous to say maybe 20% of the electorate at most is both aware of tactical voting and willing to engage in it, and that also applies for the right wing too.

UKpol likes to think that the recent Caerphilly Senedd by-election is evidence that tactical voting can keep Reform out, but they ignore the fact that nationalist parties have always over-performed in devolved elections. The turnout was also lower than in it will be in a general election, meaning that only people who are politically engaged enough to care voted. When you have higher turnout, the effects of tactical voting are naturally diluted by the increased number of non-engaged voters. I suspect that the next election will see very high turnout, simply because so many people are angry now rather than indifferent in 2024.

    Labour and the Lib Dems

Even if by some miracle they managed to actually do this (they won’t) their combined polling still only puts them level with Reform.

This is like the mythical rainbow coalition that Reddit loves to bang on about, it’ll require ridiculous levels of coordination and the management of so many egos and after it’s all said and done would only result in 50% of the vote.

It doesn't even make sense for the Lib Dems who will want to be putting clear blue water between them and the incumbent, exceedingly unpopular government. They've done the playing second fiddle to a bigger party before and it ruined them for a generation.

There’s a real chance that with the split vote the Lib Dem’s could end up as the official opposition.

A reasonably sized chunk of the electorate will see Reform/Greens as too extreme but don’t want to vote Labour/Con. The Lib Dem’s will probably quietly mop up the boring CofE, centrist vote whilst the other parties are screaming at each other.

    They'll still lose.

  • Some of those videos from the nightclub fire where people just film the fire spreading on the roof going “ayyyyyy” and still singing along to the shitty music are surreal.

How stupid can you be, seriously. I know that lots of people who grow up in urban areas have no experience with fire whatsoever but surely your survival instinct would kick in.

Seen the video. Obviously the smart thing to do is leave but:

    • No fire alarm going off
    • Music still playing
    • Young, dumb and drunk at a New Year event

is a ridiculously dangerous combination. If there is a fire alarm I don't understand how it is excusable for it not to be blaring there and for the music not to be cut - the point of which is to knock some sense into you and get you to leave.

Drunk 16 year olds are stupid. They are not the ones to blame here. The managers fucked up massively.

I was in Thailand in the mid 2000s. There was a huge fire in a club called Zantika around 2005. I wasnt there but the story was that the band on stage let of some kind of fireworks which lit the cladding alight and the place went up in minutes.

There were fire exits but they’d all been padlocked as most Thai clubs are table service and they didnt want people leaving without paying their bills.

This was before social media obviously but a Thai friend I had cc’d me on a forwarded email with a bunch of very NSFW photos that someone had gotten hold of from the emergency services. Basically bodies charred to a crisp piled up on top of each other at the locked doors who died trying to get out.

I’ve never forgotten it and Im always mindful of that if Im ever going into an enclosed place

Never seen the video but the written account says that some people showed the same kind of passiveness in the face of obvious danger that I’m talking about.

If you are ever in an enclosed space and see an uncontrolled flame, leave immediately. People just don’t seem to comprehend that yes this does actually happen and it isn’t just going to stop.

I used to work in Fire Protection and saw some very nasty videos and aftermaths. The fact it wasn't truly regulated (voluntary..) for years shocked me enough to leave the industry.

I watched that again. It's horrible.

The crowd are sensible and immediately go towards the exit, theres relative calm.

One minute later there so much smoke no one can breathe or see and the doors blocked.

We can rag about health and safety but I'm glad we have the standards we do for this stuff.

If ever you are dreadfully unfortunate enough to find yourself in this situation, do a window in, you might cut the shit out of yourself crawling out, but crowding the door is a death sentence.

If I remember correctly most of the people who survived the station fire climbed out some back windows when everyone else was rushing the doors.

I mean this is also in Switzerland whom you think would have comparable levels of elf' and safety.

From what I've read the clips of the crowd moving towards the exit calmly are of them going towards an upstairs outdoor patio area which wasn't actually safe from the fire.

  • I can see a bellybutton he's begging for it!

  • Happy new year gammons, back from a 3 day holiday for I’m assuming guessing that Somalian national dish was a type of firearm

Assuming I haven’t missed much, although the big question I had is how far will things have to go for the left to not defend them, on the individual case we have the Egyptian bloke who wanted whites dead allowed to come over, and on the macro side we have blatant fraud with Somalian day care centres but people are defending it, plus earlier in the year we had Charlie Kirk

Team good guy really taking a battering, even ukpol can’t defend Labour anymore, a few subs you can see they are trying, but ultimately this government is done, roll on Burnham/ mega defections and an earlier election

Somalia thing is radicalising people at a fever pitch over here. The centre left are fighting rearguard actions everywhere and now Shirley exposed the Somalians in Minnesota, it's happening in other states and dare I say the UK as well.

New Mayor of NYC also disavowed 'frigid rugged individualism' in favour of 'warm collectivism' 🤮🤮🤮. Bold move Cotton, let's see how it works out for him.

If it makes the people feel virtuous they will put up with a material downgrade of their living standards and the regular slaughter and rape of their countrymen and women.

Until this mindset changes on the left nothing will change.

  • If you ever visit Boston in Lincolnshire be careful. The brown stains on the pavements aren't caused by South Asians spitting paan leaves, but instead by Roma gypsies who refuse to use the public conveniences.

  • Yeah if we were in a real war these people would be hanged as saboteurs. This maybe doesn’t meet the original definition of terrorism but it’s a crime of a similar level of severity in my opinion. Espionage, sabotage, terrorism, sedition, etc, it’s all the same to me. You’re an enemy of the state and you need to be away forever at the very minimum.

Yeah right, they'd arrest anyone with a twitter account they can call a plastic patriot Putin puppet etc but no chance the CPS or judges would prosecute or sentence these guys any harsher

Remember though the Russian agents are the ones who think maybe we should decrease immigration somewhat

The RAF baase stunt might have been a bit shorter during wartime. I don't think the Germans were trying to arrest Paddy Mayne and co when they did the same thing in North Africa.

Don't kid yourself. If this was happening in war time they'd be arrested by a lady in a burka, released on bail, and then not tried for 3 years.

The war is over. Big beautiful peace treaty.

The Palestinians lost (again) just like they have lost, and will lose, every war against the Israelis because it turns out a ragtag militia full of inbreds can't beat a first world military.

we're all aware a genocide has been genocided, if there were actually no more Pasta lemons in the world, would these activists stop or move on to destroying science labs which AREN'T working to find some DNA in a block of amber and bring them back?

Peace. The worst possible of outcomes.

  • Dominic Cummings: 'The Tory party has moved to a place worse than universal loathing: a kind of political limbo, waiting to die. The public sees them as irrelevant to modern life. They do not discuss Conservative ideas at all. Most people have no idea who senior figures are, and they do not care. They have become a pathological institution that destroys anything of value.'

Just seen that he said this straight to Goves face.

'cabbaged' is an absolutely s-tier slur

    Domcum absolutely moggs soy Gove.

    Both the podcasts are interesting.

There’s a funny bit where Gove asks if the focus groups Cummings commissioned think of the Tory Party as an outdated but quaint institution like stained glass makers.

He replies saying something like, only if stain glass makers are despised and reviled for being useless.

Slightly surprised the Spector had him on tbh.
