When they arrived, it didn't take more than half a second for me to realise they were not the same people.
I was confused at why they had turned out to be different people because they weren't fat or ugly or whatever.
My analysis was they were either shy, inexperienced or embarrassed as some people can be discreet, especially from certain cultures. I gave them the benefit of the doubt.
It didn't strike me that they might be criminals. I'm not on Grindr that much anyway really so I thought maybe it was inexperience on my part.

My old man once made the truly baffling decision to hire some gyppo tarmac guys after they knocked on the door offering their services. Driveway. A few days later it all started to crack and fall apart. He went down to their camp (which was only 10 mins away) to get his money back. He got chased off and had to beat a retreat whilst they chucked stones at him.
Held a massive, massive grudge against them for the rest of life. He used to enjoy himself by phoning the authorities every time a camp popped up in the area and making up stories about their unacceptable behaviour in order to hasten the eviction.
This isn't new, I grew up in a town in Lincolnshire that had a static gypo camp and would have people of caravan pretty much all year round on different sites. Many stories but I remember one of those early police reality tv shows where some people had nicked a car. They chased them until they got to the camp and just aborted as it's not worth the hassle.
What we should do, is just mix gypsies and other such people with normal people in schools, and let them lay down the laws

I saw conspiracy posts on X that Farage's video was all greenscreen and they could tell because of some of the pixels and having seen a few greenscreens in their time.
Frankly, I'm not sure why that even matters, but someone else replied with a photo of the set up and it looked and sounded so crisp because it was professionally recorded on-location not because it was inside a studio.
You can get to the Naval Museum from central london in under half an hour. It would take considerably more effort to greenscreen in a Nige than it would to jump in a cab shoot the thing and then go to one of the rather decent boozers in the area.

I went to midnight mass at Southwark Catholic Cathedral last night.
Quite a curious event - the priests were two white guys but the event was taken over by Africans.
And when I say Africans I mean Africans who clearly grew up in Africa, because they all had strong African accents.
They had a second collection for the homeless where one of about eight Africans who spoke during the service said you would have to dance. I wasn't sure if this was serious, but no there was African singing and playing of drums, cowbell, and so on while people danced to the front to give their donation.
There was one quite posh older white woman who was supposed to read out the prayers but for some reason two African women said they would share the duties and they (obviously!) went first. They all had strong accents, so the prayer for "mothers" sounded like "murders". During the Bible readings it was quite difficult to understand what they were saying.
They did seem to genuinely enjoy themselves, and it was quite interesting, but I found it a bit odd where at a cathedral you'd expect to have some choral music, organ, angelic singers, etc., that ALL the music was Africans singing rather tunelessly and banging things.
There was no sense that any of the congregation was born in the UK (although they might have been) - apart from the white lady and the priests there was no British accent, and I found it strange that a reasonably major event (New Year) was essentially given over to Africans. I am not sure whether the second-generation Africans are not enthusiastic about church attendance or if this simply reflects the constant immigration of people from every corner of the world into the Yookay and there are now for the first time people from countries that you would not be able to place on the map in the UK due to asylum/student/god knows what.
Of course it makes sense that the church will serve whoever turns up, so I do not blame them at all, just found it an interesting experience.

Yes higher energy costs is what we need.
Moving energy taxes from electricity to gas is actually a good idea. There's no reason we should be taxing electricity so much more than gas when it's greener.
Forcing heat pumps on everyone is one thing, but right now we're artificially disincentivising them with our tax scheme, which makes no sense.
There isn't enough generating capacity for consumers whilst its all going on new data centres
like if the heat pumps are so much better why do you even need to give them subsidies?

I managed to get on the warm home grant scheme (didn't think I was eligible but inspired by 8th I decided to be cheeky) and was told that solar panels would increase my energy rating to a C but then heat pumps would actually lower it again to a D, as they're classed as an electric heating system so score lower. They probably need to sort that out before punishing people for not having them.
So when you were expressing your outrage at me getting free solar you were actually filling out your own application form.

The previous Eco4 scheme got binned when it was revealed 98% of folk saw their bills go up.
My initial heat pump installer had £600 of hidden yearly fees payable to them. £250 a year just to use their software to monitor it. £150 a year for the warranty, £220 servicing to maintain the warranty. My gas bill last year was only £550.
Not that they would confirm the figures in writing. People are going to get shafted when they find out how much they have to pay the company. They have the contract for the whole of Lancashire.
