We've a woefully under-equipped hospital, that is full to capacity, and has no major trauma unit, the police are equally under equipped, and any armed officers are in their single digits.
Not to mention the fact the place is sandwiched between two schools.
All they've done is thought of the here and now, forgot to ponder the hypotheticals, and dropped them on some piddly town so they can get them out of their sight as soon as freasibly possible.
If they were put somewhere in civilisation, with appropriate resources, or even if they offered to upgrade the current resources to an appropriate level, as an exchange for housing them, there wouldn't be as much of an issue. But the entire thing just reads as a "here, your problem now dickwads", and leaving locals even more in the lurch cos of the added pressure to the already poor system.
How long till there is a sexual assault or rape and the locals are the ones blamed for reacting.

Quite so. Every town and city should get a large share. Scotland is extremely pro-immigration but has very few non-European immigrants.
